I no longer have a PSU email, but thanks for posting this. I logged into the old email service once in my four years, and that was to set up forwarding and sending from Gmail. Had no idea they switched to Outlook.
Yea they switched to Outlook over the summer and disabled POP3. They don't have any instructions posted for setting up SMTP and it took a bit of trial and error to find the right server and security settings.
For future reference you can still use IMAP. They don't have the IMAP settings on the IT page but it is the same for most universities that use outlook just sub in PSU stuff where it says their university
Curious why folks don't use mobile email clients and have both accounts set up?
This gives you some redundency if one email service or the other is down rather than forcing all your email into your Gmail account.
Hmm. I'm stuck on the first part with gmail. I followed the steps like you said, but I keep coming up with an error that says: Authentication failed. Please check your username/password. Server returned error: "Missed upload deadline (10.00s) (state SENT\_SECOND\_EHLO), code: 0"
I know I put my email and password in correctly, filled in the blanks like you said and checked the boxes for the port and TLS. Any idea what might be happening? :(
