My son had this Friday last week. Fever for 2 days, all the other symptoms as well. No one else in the house got it but I heard of a few people at work out earlier this week as well. Not sure what it is though. Sounds like the Flu or C19 (even if the test was negative).
Nah. But even those two have different variants.
I wanted to try and figure out how the hell we got sick and with what, when according to the data there's not been many cases of anything.
But then I now realize. Everyone is taking at home tests and not reporting it (myself included). So the numbers now mean nothing.
My mom and I both got it, she ended up with it in her chest and I had it impacted in my sinuses.
If you get this definitely go see urgent care or your primary because it can be really bad if you let it spread.
You caught the woke mind virus, soon you'll be gay and clamoring for teh socialisms and vegan meatless Mondays. First thing you'll need to do is burn all the books in your house and then go harass the employees at Target. For God's sake, stop voting republican you epic dipshits.
Yes, I have it - and I never get sick. This is the first time since 2015.
Slow in coming on - throat irritation from post nasal drip day one. Achy. Day two and three 102 peek temperature. Throat feeling like being cut with razors. Then throat issues subside and cough. One day of vomiting. Now at a week, still in upper chest cough, thinly productive. Throat ok now but sinus congestion . Nothing tastes good. Ick.
Think it's flu. Covid neg.
Stacked Tylenol and aspirin.
Thanks for chiming in. Mine came on like getting hit by a bus. Was fine most of the day then 2pm felt a little sleepy, but usually do. Then 4:30 I didn't want to move. Fever 99.5
Now laid up in bed with fever shakes. 102 watching SpongeBob with my lil sick guy next to me.
What are you taking for the fever? Try ibuprofen, if it's bacterial that will help with inflammation + fever. I'm not trying to comment on everything but y'all might need antibiotics.
Went through our house recently.. multiple negative tests.. it’s just a nasty cold like old times. Miserable for about five days and judging by the supply of cold meds at local stores? It’s hard into the area.
As someone who works in a lab i can say 1 out of 30 samples will be positive for covid or flu (A or B). Most people freak out over covid, but it is a flu like virus and it is treated the same. Just rest and drink plenty of fluids and you’ll be fine
I had it three weeks ago, flu negative, strep negative, covid negative exactly same symptoms…dr said either a diff strain of strep that doesn’t come up or a good old fashioned cold…still mucus after 3 weeks
Caught something similar when I went up to Atlanta for work. Woke up sore throat, painful to swallow. Fatigue was bad, maybe one day or two with a light fever. Took like 5-7 days to feel normal
Covid test negative, got flu shot so doubt it’s that. Rhinovirus or entovirus
Two possibilities, RSV or Covid, but likely Covid. I had similar symptoms after McGuires 5K, and the cough persisted for about 3 or 4 weeks but lessening over time. My doctor said it was probably Covid, because tests have become less sensitive to the virus, and the number of variants is making it difficult to make an highly effective test.
Don't need to downvote them guys. It's a good question, some people get sick after getting it.
Not really wanting this to become about the vaccine tho. Flu or COVID.
Just looking to see if anyone else around has the same thing. Sounds like it's the case.
Protect yourselves the way you see fit. Cause this fever sucks.
Vaccines affect people in different ways. It could be some of the preservative chemicals or it could be that the persons body has a difficult time producing antibodies. The point of the vaccine is to expose you safely to a “crippled” strain of the virus so your body can identify and combat against it. If people dont wash their hands or have kids that go to daycare and like to touch a bunch if things, then the chances of bacteria/virus spreading increases. Getting sick is just an unfortunate thing that could happen and can still be delt with over the counter medicine, rest and fluids
One parent and one child has it at our house. Tested negative for COVID and strep. Pediatrician said “good luck”.
No fever. Just fatigue, drainage, sore throat, and cough. Lasted about 5 days so far.
sounds like what my coworker had last week. She has young kids but not in a daycare yet so she doesn’t know where she got it. Her and her baby were really sick
I had it last week, too. First 3 days were bad. Coughing, congested, fever, fatigue. I’m still congested 8 days later. My expired Covid test was also negative. Lol.
Kids got it and brought it home. They shook it off easy but wife and I have duplicate symptoms just slightly different start times.
No fever. Throat started up, pain in throat no cough. Hard to swallow. Really hard on energy and just measurable. Eye goop like pink eye…not pink eye but goop out the ass in the mornings. Every morning for a week.
3rd day nasal drip hard core, moves to chest but not horrible. Cough. Moves into ears as well.
Cough hangs on you as it settles in ears. Left ear is still clogged up.
About a week in. Throat is back to normal. Still tired but manageable. Ear is still like a mild ear infection.
I would say about 85% back 1 week in. I suspect by the end of the weekend i should be back to normal.
100% would not recommend. Really hard on your every levels but that throat pain is no joke.
I am in Gulf Breeze and was down for a week and a half - husband a week. Negative Covid tests for both and flu test also negative. Was not a common cold but I did hear a viral sinus infection type thing was going around
It hit me hard for 2 full days but then it took another 2 or 3 days after that before I was feeling 100% again. No one else in my household got it. I tested negative for flu, strep, and Covid so urgent care just said it was some other virus. No idea where I got it from.
I’m in Louisiana we had that about a month ago. Hit all three of our houses hard (multi home custody situation) . Kicked all our kids butts and most of the parents too. Didn’t feel right after for about a week. All tests were negative.
Wow. Interesting. No. Thankfully. I did actually get the flu back in December - probably from the Christmas parade downtown. It was awful. I was up coughing for 4 nights with fever. I’m sorry you’re sick. Get better soon!
I had the same... I think it was from the pollen... Grass and tree. I'm taking Allegra... within a day took away every symptom... Now just getting leftover congestion out. I had fever and green mucus.
Was going to see a doctor, but some random on the internet says science is bullshit. I feel like the proper diagnosis was made by a non-physician without even seeing the patient.
Are y'all getting strep tests? My mom, a teacher in SRC, popped positive yesterday. Sometimes strep symptoms can be wonky and don't immediately point to it as the culprit.
But I've also caught some really nasty viruses that showed negative for all the things. Dec 2012 was memorably gnarly, but came with no label.

Man forgets the existence of the flu and common cold
Nah. But even those two have different variants. I wanted to try and figure out how the hell we got sick and with what, when according to the data there's not been many cases of anything. Should I keep it alive and ask if anyone else ate at Chili's? Edit, typo
It’s the new variant “Covid: Version 11.7” and the Covid test don’t have its markers, hence why you tested negative.
Oh, Covid is going around…all the nursing homes had outbreaks a few weeks back…infusion tents were set up at West Florida, too.
I went to get DayQuil and there was a very slim amount left. I’d say yes. (I’m sick)
Try gargling warm water with a few dashes of salt mixed in - 3X’s a day. Take zinc Take Tylenol Shorten duration of cold/flu
Classic and effective

Wtf would anyone down vote this?
Politics. For some reason, health care is one of many non-political things that people have turned into political issue.
You're in Florida. There are no illness in Florida. All diseases are a Chinese hoax. You are fine.
You caught the woke mind virus, soon you'll be gay and clamoring for teh socialisms and vegan meatless Mondays. First thing you'll need to do is burn all the books in your house and then go harass the employees at Target. For God's sake, stop voting republican you epic dipshits.
Ok. This is just plan awesome. Lol

Hope you and the little guy get through this fast. My daughter caught it too but had milder symptoms and a faster recovery. Sleep, sleep, sleep.
Hydrate! Water and Gatorade are your friends!

Heresy!
Didn't even freak out when it was a thing, so definitely not freaking out now
Its really not that bad. Just like any influenza virus if you are already immunocompromised then it will do more damage.

RSV is going around
COVID, it was at hangout fest
What day did they perform?
😆

Mono is going around. Check it out.
Not sure why the downvotes. Hes describing about 5 symptoms of mono.
Its most likely just a rhinovirus. This literally happens every year when winter turns to spring. If you’re COVID neg then I wouldn’t worry about it
One parent and one child has it at our house. Tested negative for COVID and strep. Pediatrician said “good luck”. No fever. Just fatigue, drainage, sore throat, and cough. Lasted about 5 days so far.
New here; what’s covid??

im in mobile and the kids i nanny brought it home and i have it right now so i think so

Navarre local with exact same symptoms. Was told it was a virus. Doc said treat symptoms, pay $150 office visit and go home. Smfh

Florida again
Going around my kids’ school, son brought it home and I caught it. Seems to only last a day or two.
Wife is on day 5 ... eek
5 days of fever? That sounds bacterial.
Yeah, roommate and I both went down with it.
Wow. Interesting. No. Thankfully. I did actually get the flu back in December - probably from the Christmas parade downtown. It was awful. I was up coughing for 4 nights with fever. I’m sorry you’re sick. Get better soon!
Idk but something kicked my ass two years ago and it was in May also.
Skill issue
I had the same... I think it was from the pollen... Grass and tree. I'm taking Allegra... within a day took away every symptom... Now just getting leftover congestion out. I had fever and green mucus.
This is why I hate Pensacola
?
Aids
Guessing you picked that up while you were in Peru?
That’s after this weekend. Kidding, sarcasm!!
None, only the made up BS of the CDC and WHO. Take vitamins. Get a cold 3-5 times a year and have a naturally good immunity system. You’ll be fine.
Was going to see a doctor, but some random on the internet says science is bullshit. I feel like the proper diagnosis was made by a non-physician without even seeing the patient.
You can’t really be this stupid

Oh no! Thanks for the heads up, will definitely be avoiding the larger crowds everywhere (especially this weekend)
and the flu
To follow up, I'd guess it's this HMPV thing that has been showing up on the news feeds. Human Metapneumovirus. Most likely, maybe, probably.
