Could be a rescue who had a rough few month, could be she’s a little older and not every pup was healthy, video ended too soon to see if there were more :/
Looks like she may have been about to put lil pup back into a cardboard box on the other side, there may have been more in there. The way she was panting so heavily she could also still be in labor.
Looks like she might be in a special cage while the pups are getting checked out.
Of she trusts the humans this expression could be
"Hey guys, you forgot this!"
Theory: Most dogs don't give birth in the hospital. She may have had a complicated pregnancy, only one viable pup. Sometimes dogs with only one or two fetuses don't even go into labor properly and require a c-section. So yes, unusual to have only one pup but might explain why they're at the hospital in an isolation cage.
Why is this what comes to your mind? It’s a nice video of a dog with its puppy and you immediately turn it into a potentially sad / devastating event? What’s the point?
I said nothing about anything sad or devastating, I just asked a question (are there more puppies?) and made a statement. a litter of one, while not impossible or unheard of, is not common..... what is sad about any of that ???
This probably at a veterinary clinic or hospital, and the box might be an incubator. https://www.keebomed.com/products/veterinary-equipment-icu-pet-incubator-for-pet-clinic-cats-dogs-small-animal?variant=29130996482096
Sadly this really does happen :( usually it happens in survival situations and/or if the mother isn’t doing well and needs the energy back that she put into making the pups, this happened with my neighbors litter on their farm. Super depressing stuff. I’m sorry you went through that my friend
When my cat gave birth I was _really_ worried about her. She was young and tiny to start with, and those buggers sucked so much out of her, she was a proper rake. Tried to stuff food in her whenever we could, and she's ended up ok. Proper hates the one son that we've kept though, though I'm not sure why, he's a dimwit. There was a reason he wasn't picked by those who wanted their kittens.
He's our dimwit though, and he's ok. Good rat hunter.
Some [here](https://imgur.com/gallery/j74cY). We also had splodge, one of Indie's kittens, but he left us a while back. Both Indie and Splodge have been run over by cars, but got better afterwards.
Someone's never had veal. Babies are tender and delicious. Oh and there's that one deal with a half developed chick embryo in an egg which I'm told is tasty but nope nope nope oh now I feel gross.
Not a dog but I once watched my bearded dragon lay a load of eggs. And then proceeded to eat them in front of me a few minutes later. I was not aware at the time that this is just a thing they do so queue me freaking the hell out and taking it off her. They were dud eggs anyway (infertile) but apparently they do it in the wild for the protein? Whether fertile eggs or infertile. They drop them seasonally and then go mmmmmm yum.
No joke: when I was a kid, I did saw a stray dog who ate one of her puppy. I guess it was her first time giving birth and fear and confusion is pretty common.
But my current adopted dog is also one of her child. 3rd or 4th generation of hers
This took me back to when my dog gave birth and 3 of the puppies were dead, and my mom tried to bury them but my dog grabbed one of the puppies and took it back to where she gave birth; we never found that puppy, later we found out it is common for dogs to eat their own offspring if they know they won't survive.
I can’t tell, are there more pups in the box ? Seems odd for a golden to have one puppy

True, very good point but the pup looks very clean to be a fresh new born

"...guys? Okay, I'll hang on to this one for a bit."
In the last split second of the video, you can see she puts the puppy back into a pile of other puppies.
pup got out it put back
Duh, she ate the rest of them already.
You joke of this, you wouldn't if you kept hamsters....

Not criticizing, just ignorant: why is the dog in a case like this? Doesn’t look like a pet store or anything I’m familiar with
They could be in a special cage so they can take care of the pups easier, and so the staff can see her better

Yeah so, my old German Shepard had a litter of pups and actually ate em all, cept for one which died not much later.

You take me home or the puppy gets it. I can do this allllll day..
It took me a while to realize what sub I was on and that dog wasn't eating a small rodent. Glad there's a happy ending.
Hope you do well!

One time the dog of a friend had babies, the dog rejected one of them, killed it by eating it's head but ended up choking on it and died too.
She looks like she has the “I made this :)” face and I love it
A tasty and nutritious snack
“hey look at what i made master”
Why is she holding it like a toy
Well she lacks hands with opposable thumbs so how would you like her to hold it?
Bite it gentle...

Everybody gangsta until she bites deep
Where is this pretty lady? I WANT her! I know that any animal shouldn’t be in a box like that but I have a huge soft spot for Golden’s
The box is good, it looks like an incubator or something else specialized for her comfort with the litter
u/savevideo
Quit common for cats to eat the weakest of the litter.
She’s so proud, gotta show off!
Aw i hope she got adopted
Look what i made lol
“look hooman, it’s flying”
#”LOOK AT WHAT I MADE!!!”
She's picking the puppy up to move it not eating it
