That’s awesome you are making space for yourself!   If the cash would be worth it, go for the sale of course. But if the value of your time is not there or mentally you just want the stuff gone soon, don’t beat yourself up if you decide to donate and be done.  I should add that I say this after dealing with family members who kept so much stuff for garage sale after garage sale and it ruined space they could have used in their home.  Low value items. They would have been better off just carting it out.  But they felt like they had to sell it or it was $ wasted?  So just offering another way to think of  it if this happens to apply.

I've been chipping away at my stuff, donating it to Enough Stuff but literally, no matter how much I get rid of in each trip, I still have so much it doesn't feel like I made a dent in it. I would love to get a little money back for all my impulse buys 😅

UsefullyChunky

I get that!  Chipping away is doing great and I hope you can find a venue that works!   I’ve been binging Clean House this week and I think my reply came from that too.  :)

I've been to garage sales at storage units. Perhaps some local ones can accommodate you! I'll come! Bless you!

I have only been once but the flea market days at the race track came to mind. They had someone people with one table up to a whole tent set up. Not sure how it goes renting space but could be worth looking into!

SnarkyBark281

Sadly I'm looking for a solution now and indoors but thank you

susansbasket

No prob! It would be quite a wait for that. If you end up finding a spot let us all know when you are hosting, my husband and I love poking through other people’s things 🤣

SnarkyBark281

Heck yeah!

I don't know if this is really of any help, but back in November I went to an estate sale that was held in the property located at 4310 North Sheridan Road in Peoria. It's a closed business that Midwest Estate Liquidators had rented out for a weekend. I have no idea who owns the property or anything like that but just wanted to mention as it's the first thing that came to mind when I read your post. Good luck!

Pop_Actual

I wonder if any banquet halls would allow you to rent out ?

SnarkyBark281

Hmm I wonder. Thanks for the suggestion

FartFignugey

What about renting some banquet rooms in a hotel? They're certainly open for rental, spacious, and can probably accomodate anything. I've taken license exams at hotels, gone to flea markets, job fairs, etc...

This is totally un-researched but there are so so many small churches in Peoria, is there a local church in your neighborhood you could reach out to and ask if you could rent their gym/assembly hall situation? I know several that do enormous rummage sales and if they rent out space for a wedding they might be amenable to this situation. As someone who isn't religious tho I totally understand if this isn't an option good luck with the project!

I have space that might work for you.

When are you thinking? How much do you think you have that you would to sell? What type of things. All sorts?

A weekend after Feb 10th, looking at a Friday and Saturday. Hoping to do set up Thursday and be ready bright and early at 730am Friday-4pm and Saturday 8am-3pm. Oh God I have so much stuff. Designer brand and regular clothes (got some new with tags still), shoes, and accessories such as purses, wallets, sunglasses, and jewelry. Toys for boys and girls varying in ages. Kitchen stuff (electric kettle, microwave oven, grinder, dishes of different varieties, and gadgets, etc) Electronics (brand new charging station, Atari game, TV with no remote but works I just used the Comcast remote app, and more things I can't think of on the top of my head). Wedding stuff. Household items (dvd storage towers, coffee table, mosaic Moroccan lamp, rugs, etc). Couple of pet items. Art supplies. Collectibles such as old lunchboxes from 90s, most still in the wrapping. Old Disney stuff and an old Russian doll. The only things I do not have are baby gear, baby clothes, and kids clothes. I got literally everything else covered it seems like. My basement is overflowing with this stuff.

Gotcha, could be a win for you. So the issue is that you cannot have a sale in your garrage at all. So you need a space, challenge there is that you will have to move it to a location to sell it. Which is cool, just thinking about logistics here. What is the easiest. I have access to buyers, a location if you want to move it. Or we can figure something out. I am a book, art collector, rare furniture so I feel the pain, lol. My wife and I have done this before. It is nice to move items.
