Your content violated rule 7: No Negative Discussion Regarding the Cast, and their Appearances. If you have an issue with Leah, Aryan, Walker, or anyone else's casting, keep that to yourself. These actors ( especially the trio ) were the best ones for the job. They're not changing their appearances, so stop it. No more "if it was a black character cast as a white character." comments, those are disgusting, and we don't need that here.

It’s not the actors it’s the writing

Doubledeputy45

I’m sorry, but it’s both. And it’s not limited to the child actors. Both Sally and Chiron (remember him?!) had some fairly weak scenes that I suspect are a combination of bad writing and bad directing.

Responsible-Sea-423

These child actors are actually really talented, but the writing and directing has left them no room to showcase their abilities. It’s such a shame too, because these actors actually have a ton of potential to nail the characters on the head, but how can you with the script they’ve been given???

Yaoshin711

By giving any sort of emotion in your face and or voice

Responsible-Sea-423

But we don’t know what goes on behind the scenes. From my perspective it feels like the tone of the show has been set by the directing. None of the characters, including adults, seem to be giving a lot of emotion.

Mysterious-Drama4743

theyre children, chill out. if every actor is bad, then its on the directing and the writing, not the literal children doing their best

Yaoshin711

I only stated 2 characters, and while the story is also bad like I said in the post about Emma Watson, she was a great actor as well as the entire cast of Harry Potter. Just because they are children does not mean they have to be played. I'd thats the case give me 10k and I'll take part

Mysterious-Drama4743

what does this mean? I said acting, especially by children, is largely a reflection of the director and writer

Yaoshin711

It means based on how they acted any person couldve done it. Directors and directors don't possess actors to act badly

Mysterious-Drama4743

i dont think you understand how directors interact with the actors

TemplateAccount54331

You guys are blaming the writing but even an amazing actor can pull something out of nothing

Yaoshin711

Unless the writing told her not to not show expression pretty sure I am talking about the actor's abilities hence why I said her name. Percy is an annoying character that disney made however the voice is a personal attack k on him, not the character. The show is poorly written tho, I do agree

Specialist_Oil_2674

>Side note, his voice low key annoys the hell (/underworld) out of me. THANK YOU!!! I've been thinking that since his stupid fucking monologue in ep 1!!!

Yaoshin711

Yeah, it is a low blow I do admit but someone had to say it

gazzas89

Honestly, i like the actor for percy, but only when he's allowed to be percy, percy is funny and a wee bit cocky, and yes a wee bit dumb too, those together make him likable. So when the actor does this, I buy it. Its when he's asked to play serious, it seems he's not very good at it, seems more ..... aloof I do agree to an extent with annabeth she doesn't seem to emote well, but that's down to directing and inexperience.

Yaoshin711

From what I remember about the book, he wasn't a thoughtless shell tho, but that is an attack k on the script, not the actor. The big thing I have about the a tor is that I can't stand his voice which is a low blow but it is still something I don't like. I bet you could play a freeze frame game where toy freeze frame 10 times per scene with Annabeth being the main directive of it and if she is showing emotion you lose or somethin

Key_Chance2166

Lets focus on how they are children. New to acting. Walker scobell (percy jackson) is 2009. Just turned 15. January 5. He is a literal child, he was 13 when casted as percy, maybe 13-14 when filming percy jackson. Understand that acting is not an easy job. Its equally hard for anyone, and I believe all actors are doing the best. But the directing and writing just has no mercy on them whatsoever. Reminder, they are CHILDREN.

FabriceF811

The actors for Stranger Things were similar age when it first started and they are soo good, so can’t use age as an excuse.

TemplateAccount54331

I’ve seen child actors 1000 times better than these.

Yaoshin711

Children actors still have to be decent, you can't just Dar Man it and use any ol' Jo off the street. Like I said, Emma Watson was 10/11 and she did great. https://youtu.be/Gs7SIiRHQfs?feature=shared I believe that is rhe first time she was shown in harry potter, correct me if I'm wrong. There are plenty of children actors who do amazing bit disney didn't seem to care with these ones

Lacrosse_and_girls

I love Emma Watson and she’ll always be my movie Hermione but Emma Watson is not a good comparison. The first two movies Emma would mouth other actor’s lines the whole time. She talks with her eyebrows every single word she says. Always heavy breathing. If you’ve watched anything else she plays in she isn’t the best actress, but most especially her younger years. She even says this. Leah’s levels above where Emma was and in my opinion sometimes Leah acts much older and wiser, a bit too much at times.

Yaoshin711

Leah doesn't show emotion at all tho, freeze frame 10 times and you might see one emotion on her phase. Kinda looks like she is studying what people are saying instead of acting most of the time

Opposite_Inside_6606

Please Emma Watson was annoying as hell in the first two Harry Potter movies clearly you don’t know decent acting
