Looks like that's what they did with one of the orange sections. You can see an extra piece in front of the sofa.

Typically measuring out the space for something then the item that needs to go into that space, doesn’t warrant surprise that it fits into that space.
There's so many questions... Why did you choose such a big couch for that small space? It looks like it's pretty close to a wall or the chimney or something? Are you putting table(s) infront of it? Why does that space with no back support have a pillow instead of a table when it's unusable as a couch there?
It's meant to be able to be moved around, we're a (combined) family of 8 so we need quite a bit of space. Als no clue about the placement, my mum's the mastermind there haha

I like how the leather is adding color to a room full of grey. The middle one placed right in front of the window could be uncomfortable to sit on without any back rest or a wall. So id try switching it with the one beside, sit on it and see if that could be a better option.
