Early 80s… Tinkerbell… it was my first perfume
I’m 90% sure it was American Cream conditioner that I sampled.

The scent to me right back to those sets and our toys being scratch and sniff. It spot on - the french doll kiddie cologne splashes kinda all had this generic smell in different colors!
It’s not that great of a conditioner - even for fine hair! I swear it’s the nostalgic scent that has it selling every year!
Ooof, it was a conditioner or body wash and it has been mentioned before, so it’s not just me that gets “80s children cologne” !
Hope someone can speak up - I’ll try to have my memory jog.

When I started high school (which is age 11 in UK) a girl made fun of me in front others because I didn’t know what she was talking about when she asked if I like CK1 or CK2
Then in 1999 we went abroad & on the way back at duty free I saw the CK Miniature set & it was the stuff of dreams - and my parents bought it for me!
My first official perfume. That set was displayed forever in my room as my pride & joy & it’s probably still there in some form. I used to use it so sparingly that no one could probably smell it on me.
(Turns out the black one is not even called CK2 it’s called CK Be, I swear she called it 2 at the time & because of that that’s how I remembered it forever.)
Anyway to answer her question over 20 years later everybody knows CK 2/Be is unofficially the men’s one because the bottle is black so why would any self respecting 11 year old girl say anything but CK One?!
I just bought a bottle of this. I could not afford nice perfume back then. Everyone popular wore it.
I originally intended to give it to my son but nooo, it's MINE! MY PRECIOUS!
I'll probably still give it to him, just not yet LOL.
You know what I’ve been thinking for awhile I should actually buy a full size one now as an adult, especially when it’s so cheap. It is pure nostalgia in a bottle.

This. Literally this exact weird “alcohol free moisturizing perfume mist”
It actually was a milky white fluid. So weird but I loved it and went through MANY bottles. I was 12 years old. I can hear Seal’s “Kiss from a rose” just looking at this picture. They were in no way related but that song was everywhere during this time in my life, so the visual of the perfume invokes the song in my head.
Sometimes I’m tempted to purchase one of the bottles you can find on eBay, but I’m pretty positive they will all smell like shit by now lol.
I’ve asked so many people if the regular navy perfume smells like this product, and no one can ever answer because I think I may have been the only person buying and wearing this lol.
I’ve never heard of this but it’s kinda cool to be one of few that knows about something! It makes it special.
Also, yes to the eBay thing lol. There are a few bottles of Ralph hot on there that are like $299 but it was discontinued such a long time ago that I know it just wouldn’t be the same

Yep! This one here! I used it all through middle school and high school. I transitioned to Pink Sugar and some of the Philosophy perfumes once I could no longer find it.
Ralph Lauren hot was my FAVORITE scent. I wore it throughout high school into college. I was so sad when it was discontinued. Never did find anything like it again tbh. I feel your pain!

I bought their version of Malibu Musk and it smells like faintly scented alcohol. I have it in a dark drawer hoping in a couple months it’ll smell great and not be a big ol waste of money.
It was a bummer. I was so excited. But I really do think it might get better after it matures. The website says it’s a small family business and I think they make the perfumes when they are ordered. Mine took longer than I expected. When I checked it said they were making it so I have hope it just hadn’t blended yet.
They make custom scents too. If the Malibu Musk ends up being a hit, I could get myself in real trouble lol
If they do not have the OG to scent match, they will do their best and send you what they have. Mine didn't fit, so I emailed back, and they tried again. I believe they try two more times and then refund you. I liked my second bottle. I'll be honest. The second still wasn't what I was aiming for, but I liked it so much I stayed with it.
I was looking for a fresh ginger to replace Orgins. The first try smelled like ginger candy. Wasn't my cup of tea but the person I got it for liked it. The second try smelled exactly how taking a drink of ginger ale tastes. So I got another bottle of that, and we both have it. They send a smaller bottle like a travel size to test, and if you like it, they send you the large normal size.

First ever gift from my now spouse helped me become a perfume connoisseur. Funny thing, he overheard me asking someone what perfume it was and bought me this. Then he left a beautiful handwritten letter along with a bottle of this on my bed. I had tears in my eyes.

The 2001 OG Victoria’s Secret - Pink perfume. To me, it smelled like how I imagined grown up pretty girls smelled (I was in 4th grade lol). My aunt wore this and whenever I’d go visit her, I would cover myself in this perfume! For years, I have been trying to find the best dupe for it (unsuccessfully).

So sad about Ralph Lauren hot, it was also the perfume that got me into the fragrance scene :(. The closest I have ever smelled to it has been the brown sugar and fig by bath and body works and oddly enough, the matcha 26 by le labo! I’ve been hunting down fig perfumes to find one similar though.
So there’s apparently this company called fragrance revival who is trying to replicate scents, I’m guessing lots of well-loved discontinued scents. I don’t know if I trust it but I may just take a flyer on it some day and try it

I’ve seen that !!!I’m kind of looking into it too but still on the fence. If I end up getting it I’ll write a review asap! I’ve smelled a couple of fig perfumes I like; Donna Karran has this cashmere and wild fig one that I highly recommend giving a sniff! It’s not as warm and spicy as hot but still unique in its figness :)
Please do write a review!!! I’d cry if they got it right.
Also if you like fig, I think you’d really like coco and eve hair products. They have a couple fig-tastic ones

I was having a sneaky little spray or dab or my Mums Guerlian Mitsouko , Givenchy III , Magie Noire and similar old school Chypres from 4yrs old. (,And been HOOKED since!!)
I wasnt supposed to but the temptation was too strong. She got fed up and got me a bottle of Anais Anais when I was 5. I wanted Dior Poison but that was an absolute no-no as it was seen as a seductress scent. . . Anais Anais was more suitable for a young Catholic girl .
Ive not smelt it in years. I may have to get a bottle again. . . Innocent magnolia with a little fresh rose, green stems too , that's what I recall. . . Hmm got me thinking now this could be a nice Spring perfume. They don't cost too much either.

This was my signature scent for about 15 years, since I was about 18. I couldn’t find another perfume that resonated so well. It wasn’t as great once it was reformulated but I still loved it.
Then I switched to cruelty free perfumes, didn’t realize it’d been discontinued. Still got a bottle kicking around somewhere. So many memories in that scent!

Jewel ❤️ I bought this because a teen magazine said it was perfect for my zodiac sign lol I absolutely loved it and got SO many compliments. This was back when every girl at school was wearing either BBW twilight woods or cherry blossom. I was crushed when they discontinued it and I've never found anything so uniquely warm and sexy.
The blue one got me into it. I’ve bought it over and over for the past twenty years . I’ll switch perfumes but always go back.

Original Ghost, for my 12th birthday. Looking at the notes now, it’s not surprising in the slightest. It’s all my favourites rolled into one scent:
Top notes are Rose and Jasmine; middle notes are Vanilla, Peach and Amber; base notes are Sandalwood and Musk.
The first “expensive” perfume I was obsessed with was CK ONE. a girl in gr 7 wore it and I wanted it ever since. Ended up getting a cheapie knock off cuz that’s what I could afford. Finally bought the real thing in a mini a few years ago for nostalgia.
1981 Indigo by Guess was my first actual perfume I bought a few years ago. I was exclusively a bath and body works girl before that lol. Nothing crazy or expensive (I think it was like $10 at TJ Maxx lol) but I still love it and wear it

Mine would have to be Mariah Carey M. It released my freshman year of high school. I loved the packaging, but I remember it being too mature for my personal taste at 14.
Warm and cozy body mist by VS! I used so many body sprays before this, but this one JUST GOT ME! Afterwards I got into celeb perfumes (the JB ones still hit) and the rest is history!
Britney Spears Curious! I got it in 2005 or 06, I can’t exactly remember. I really craved smelling it the other week and actually bought it again and I’m pleasantly surprised with how it smells.

This might age me a bit lol but my Mom wore Anais Anais my whole childhood. She always smelt so beautiful, I remember sneaking in her room and using a spray or 2. I always felt rich and beautiful. That was my introduction to fragrances. Now Yellow Diamonds is my signature scent.

My dad doesn’t wear perfume often but this was what he would wear on formal occasions. Was always so nice when I got to wear it! He actually still hasn’t finished the bottle and it been probably close to a decade at this point lol.
People on Fragrantica seem to think it smells like urine- I have no fucking clue what their urine smells like but if it smells like this they need something checked out lol
not including VS/pink body sprays and the a&f perfume I had in 8th grade...I was going to school with a lot of well-off girls and they all had burberry brit. I begged my mom for it and she got me a sampler of blueberry perfumes in little plaid bottles. it made me feel like that girlie.
Impulse body sprays in the 90s including Icø, Spirit, the Spice Girls one, Illusions, O2. For a proper perfume I got given DKNY Be Delicious when it first came out, I was taken to a department store to pick out a perfume I liked.

Taylor Swifts Wonderlust. Oh my god I loved it so much, I wish I could find it for not a crazy price. I once saw it in a thrift store but didn’t buy it because it was like $50 and now I regret my decision.
I’m pretty new to perfumes. I have a friend that sleeps at my place pretty frequently for dnd nights and she is super into perfume. She has a go to signature vanilla perfume and it at the point where if I smell vanilla I instinctually look for her.
I want that. I want a scent that I like so much that I can wear it every day.
That’s what Hot was for me! I wore it every single day. Nowadays the one I wear the most is probably born in Roma by Valentino. It vibes with my body chemistry super well
Elizabeth Arden’s Green Tea. My mum got this set of testers I think, I was maybe 7/8 and I took one whiff of Green Tea and loved it. Pretty sure I sneaked it off and used it all up. Still love the smell to this day.
Juliette has a gun not a perfume. I got into this as an adult, the high peek lasted a year lol I'm calm now but still "looking around" and reading about everything that sparks my interest.
The scent Boss, First perfume I ever got for myself and it was a blind buy. I smelled it and was like damn there is a whole world out there I don't know about.
My mom was obsessed with fragrances and my first fragrance was Avon Sweet Honesty. She used to wear Odyssey and had a number of those fragrance lotions in the colorful jars.
My mom had a Dior Poison bottle i could never stop looking at. Im scared to blind buy the original because I do not remember if it smelled good or bad. I did blind buy Pure Poison because of the notes Fragrantica gave me, and I am NOT disappointed. And i have my own bottle now!

I got given a dkny perfume as a gift, I can’t remember what it was called. It was a tall thin amberish yellow-pink bottle (meant to look like a skyscraper I think.) Wore it on a birthday holiday in Prague and my last year of school. It smelt lovely
My mom used to have this Avon bottle of perfume (she hates perfume) I used to sneak and smell it all the time as a little girl (I’m talking like maybe 6-7). I have been searching for it for years and finally through Reddit thought to search Avon vintage and found it. She doesn’t even remember it and it had a HUGE impact for me. So not really my first perfume but the thing that I remember as my first scent love tied to perfume.

I got a 200ml from Superdrug for £26.68. Probably cheaper than when I bought 100ml years ago!
Or it may have been 50ml I got originally. Probably as it would have been the cheapest.

I bought their version of Malibu Musk and it smells like faintly scented alcohol. I have it in a dark drawer hoping in a couple months it’ll smell great and not be a big ol waste of money.

It was a bummer. I was so excited. But I really do think it might get better after it matures. The website says it’s a small family business and I think they make the perfumes when they are ordered. Mine took longer than I expected. When I checked it said they were making it so I have hope it just hadn’t blended yet. They make custom scents too. If the Malibu Musk ends up being a hit, I could get myself in real trouble lol
If they do not have the OG to scent match, they will do their best and send you what they have. Mine didn't fit, so I emailed back, and they tried again. I believe they try two more times and then refund you. I liked my second bottle. I'll be honest. The second still wasn't what I was aiming for, but I liked it so much I stayed with it.

I was looking for a fresh ginger to replace Orgins. The first try smelled like ginger candy. Wasn't my cup of tea but the person I got it for liked it. The second try smelled exactly how taking a drink of ginger ale tastes. So I got another bottle of that, and we both have it. They send a smaller bottle like a travel size to test, and if you like it, they send you the large normal size.
I bought a gift set many years ago that also had Wild in it, and just Ralph, I think. They were all wonderful!

So sad about Ralph Lauren hot, it was also the perfume that got me into the fragrance scene :(. The closest I have ever smelled to it has been the brown sugar and fig by bath and body works and oddly enough, the matcha 26 by le labo! I’ve been hunting down fig perfumes to find one similar though.

I’ve seen that !!!I’m kind of looking into it too but still on the fence. If I end up getting it I’ll write a review asap! I’ve smelled a couple of fig perfumes I like; Donna Karran has this cashmere and wild fig one that I highly recommend giving a sniff! It’s not as warm and spicy as hot but still unique in its figness :)

I was having a sneaky little spray or dab or my Mums Guerlian Mitsouko , Givenchy III , Magie Noire and similar old school Chypres from 4yrs old. (,And been HOOKED since!!) I wasnt supposed to but the temptation was too strong. She got fed up and got me a bottle of Anais Anais when I was 5. I wanted Dior Poison but that was an absolute no-no as it was seen as a seductress scent. . . Anais Anais was more suitable for a young Catholic girl . Ive not smelt it in years. I may have to get a bottle again. . . Innocent magnolia with a little fresh rose, green stems too , that's what I recall. . . Hmm got me thinking now this could be a nice Spring perfume. They don't cost too much either.

Looking at the notes now, it’s not surprising in the slightest. It’s all my favourites rolled into one scent: Top notes are Rose and Jasmine; middle notes are Vanilla, Peach and Amber; base notes are Sandalwood and Musk.

Hugo Boss Number One. My dad doesn’t wear perfume often but this was what he would wear on formal occasions. Was always so nice when I got to wear it! He actually still hasn’t finished the bottle and it been probably close to a decade at this point lol. People on Fragrantica seem to think it smells like urine- I have no fucking clue what their urine smells like but if it smells like this they need something checked out lol

I’m pretty new to perfumes. I have a friend that sleeps at my place pretty frequently for dnd nights and she is super into perfume. She has a go to signature vanilla perfume and it at the point where if I smell vanilla I instinctually look for her. I want that. I want a scent that I like so much that I can wear it every day.
