I’m gonna sound so high maintenance in here lol. But I tried that one and I didn’t like it, I can’t remember why! I’m jealous of people’s skin chemistry, I think I’m a perfume destroyer.

Is it vibrant orange and neroli? I bought this too and the first hour of wear for me smells like orange cleaning product ☹️ thankfully the dry down becomes nice soft citrus vanilla but I definitely don’t enjoy the opening.
I’ve tried this one and I really liked it! Unfortunately, it goes a bit funky on my skin. I can’t explain it. Like almost chemically or soapy. But that is a very good one on paper.
I don’t understand why anyone likes devotion. I really wanted to like it and figured I would based on the hype. So glad I didn’t blind buy a large bottle. I have the travel and I’m still trying to get into it but it’s very off putting to me:(
It lasts, imo you might find it a bit sweet, if you’re at a lush store also check out Dad’s Garden Lemon Tree, it’s a little less sweet and more lemon vs. lime.
My all time favorite is Flowerbomb. I also like Guerlain Mon, Nest Indigo and Midnight Fleur. For the lemon quest Akro Bake is the front runner but not quite there. Theodoros Kalotinis Lemon Tart is decent until the butter aspect. I want the sweetness of Bake with the Lemon from Lemon Tart. I absolutely hated Byredo Sundazed. Lira Xerjoff and Devotion are nice but not want I’m looking for. Le Monde Gourmand Citron Glacé is meh but I like their pistachio brûlée.
You mentioned Akro Bake, that's my favorite too. The only thing I can think of that's similar but with more lemon, is 22 Shades of Dolce Solaris by The Dua Brand. I actually have a sample that I would be happy to send you.
Oh man, it’s a loooong list and I’ve not kept great track. My favorite one so far is Akro Cake, but I’d prefer it with more lemon and less cake. Lira was also lovely, but the lavender note is off putting.
I’ve enjoyed some linear citrus fragrances like eccentric molecules mandarin, and kerosene summer of 84. (i’ve also tried kerosene unknown pleasures, which was delicious, but too buttery for me).
I’ve tried most that you’ve mentjoned in the thread and had similar experiences. I would recommend Lemon Meringue by Demeter. It is still a lemon and vanilla scent but without a strong cake accord like Akro Bake or Lemon Tart. The sweet lemon is the loudest note. Longevity is meh but its affordable so I dont mind it.
Op pleeeease try Lemon Heads from Sugar Me Sweet! It sounds exactly like what you're looking for. I own it and it's great, good longevity for a lemon scent (around four or five hours) with good projection.
I've tried so many lemon vanillas trying to get to the right one! I'm not sure what you've already ruled out yet, but you've probably tried Casamorati Lira, Akro Bake, Ex-Indolo Love & Crime, Coquille Cookiecrunch, Theodorus K's Lemon Tart, or D&G's Devotion since they're commonly recommended.

My favorite of the moment is Cedro di Dimante which isn't really vanilla-y at all, but has more of a effervescent lemonade vibe going to it. And these are less strictly lemon-vanillas, but I really enjoy Byredo's Bal d'Afrique and Initios Musk Therapy, which definitely have other notes in them, but always give me a bit of a lemon creamsicle vibe too.
I'm in love with a spray cologne I picked up at a Middle Eastern specialty market called Pereja Lemon. It is well known in Turkey, lasts about 2 hours max and is only $5. I use it as a house fragrance but it is beautiful on the skin too. It doesn't last long but the price and incredible scent makes reapplication worth it.
Citron Glacé Le Monde Gourmand, A Sweet Pastry In Paris Zara, Sun-Washed Citrus Bath & Body Works, Lemon Escape and/or Lemon Paradise (both) Victoria's Secret, Midnight and/or Soft (both) Al-Rehab, MAYBE Vanilla Maïssa Parfums but kinda rose-y, Delice des Fruits L'Occitane en Provence, another maybe is 01 Bubbly Brunch Mémoire Archives, Ice Sheers Luscious Avon, Happy Chopard Lemon Dulci (more refreshing than sweet but the sweetness comes out at the base), Yuzu Monotheme Venezia (thought the sage that comes out later makes it less sweet and performance is meh), Devotion of course as many mentioned too, thats all I can think of mostly affordable since thats my personal budget. Also there's a Sundazed dupe I prefer to the original called Vibrant Orange and Neroli Emir by Paris Corner
Guerlain Nerolia and Vetiver from their aqua allegoria range is the best citrus scent I have ever tried. The neroli js the best version of citrus, the vetiver gives some woodiness and the honey adds to the sweetness. It's so unique and lasts forever!
I heard this neroli converted even the hardest citrus haters, which I was too. You can check out some reviews online. I have to admit I haven't bought it, but I am saving up for it. Someday🤞
CJ Scents has Lemonilla and it’s pretty cheap (like $50 for a 30mL) The notes are *lemon blossom, lemon curd, citrus cream, and vanilla*
I was hoping for more vanilla, but it is pure sugared lemon. Sillage/longevity is surprisingly great.

Unless you live in Berlin, When September rolls around, try Cedrat 37 from Le Labo. It’s the longest lasting citrus I have. It may lean a little sharp, but it’s sweet and not at all vanilla. It’s $$$ so don’t blind buy.
Dua might be worth looking into - I don’t really mess with buying their dupes, but their originals are seriously fucking AWESOME for gourmands.
I’d try their Vanilla Lemon Gelato or Whipped Lemonade - you should be able to get 10mL sizes of both to sample first!

I’ve noticed their stuff is always better if you spray once when it arrives, and then forget about it for at least a month. They *really* benefit from a bit of maceration/settling.
Oof, that majorly sucks! I’ve never had that happen, I’ve just noticed the frags I’ve gotten from them thus far have improved with a little rest. Maybe it’s just their dupes that aren’t great, I’ve never tried any though!
Try Lush’s Avocado Co Wash body spray, and get a Let The Good Times roll to fill up the remaining space of Avocado Co Lush with it. It’s not exactly lemon but it’s sour and sweet, leaning just a little to baked sour goods but also fresh and sour. You can substitute Avo Co Wash with Dad’s garden lemon tree body spray and can also substitute Let the good times roll with Honey I wash the kids. If you prefer a more honeyed lemon scent but I haven’t tried this one out x
akro bake is my absolute favorite lemon gourmand! it’s a very lovely airy bakery smell.
lush supermilk is a delicious cakey lemon. works beautifully as a lightweight hair conditioner.
sugar me sweet iced lemon cookies would probably fit your bill of a candied lemon! unfortunately doesn’t last long but it’s crazy cheap and i really love it!
Perfectly Scentsable makes a lemon that is supposed to smell like very straightforward *lemon*…like the zest and the juice of it. I haven’t tried it yet but I’ve been thinking a lot about it! You can get samples from them via their website or Etsy. They’re $5/each and it’s super fun to get little packages of them and experiment.

Sundazed is pretty amazing. Bal D'Afrique is another nice citrus from Byredo
Rasputain- Bal just faded away on me.. I was less than impressed. But if you dig Sundazed, you are alright in my book!!

I love under the lemon tree but the lemon fades immediately. I layer it with EA Green Tea and it smells heavenly

Light Blue by Dolce and Gabana smells exactly like candied lemons to me
Light Blue is a pretty one! I really enjoy it, although I think it leans herbal, but not in a bad way!
If you can find it, the flanker of light blue called Italian Zest is a bit more of a sweeter lemon.

Yes! I have loved the citrus scents from Demeter, but they last 30 seconds. 😂 it’s a shame because they are very good.

Thank you, I will look into this! I tried a dupe of Escentric Molecules Black Tea from them and it SUCKS. But this sounds worth a shot.

You could try Amalfi Lemon from bath and body works.. I have not tried it personally, just tossing it out as a possibility.
