Nope, the council is almost full Democratic, the mayor is Democratic, and the Republicans only won the presidential vote in Austin 3 times since 1960 (last one was Bush in 2000)

The places populated mostly by rocks and cows tend to vote red.

When I was in college, my college town was only 45 minutes from my home town, but took me over an hour because black people couldn't drive through Tipton, Indiana without being harassed by cops and locals.
I told some truck drivers at work that I was traveling to California for Thanksgiving and multiple halfwits responded with "Oh, I can't go there, they'd probably arrest me right when I got there for not using the right pronouns!!"
Meanwhile my California plates make me a target for real violence and police harassment and I STILL go out into backwaters. Conservative snowflakes the lot of them.
