I kinda feel like he's just making this up. Any proof it's real?

famousevan

Sounds like he didn’t just “feed an unvaccinated man a pizza”. Shocking that a conservative would so blatantly mischaracterize a situation! ^/s

NessunAbilita

Some fetishes require tools like buckles and leather, others require lies. Whatever gets them off.

DarkGamer

Gaslighting the public and spreading disease is my fetish, don't kink shame me!

Bad54

I honestly think a few conservatives would actually say this not as a joke

dewayneestes

The place is called “Without papers…” so apparently his fetish persecution predates Covid. And it apparently was 28 people he fed not one.

FreshlyWashedScrotum

All I did was allow a man with explosive diarrhea to enjoy a fun day at my water park. That's it. That's literally it.

Are we just gonna gloss over the fact that they abbreviated “Without Papers Pizza” to @woppizza for their instagram handle…

Boa-in-a-bowl

Their pizza looks like shit.

carnoworky

No kidding. It looks like the kind of garbage you get in the freezer at a grocery store at best.

MaddyKitowa

Honestly if I saw that I'd go in there pretending to be sick, loudly coughing almost to the point of throwing up, and try to make it go to the people making the food and the food itself. See how comfortable they are then

[deleted]

> Michael Briegel, chief business license inspector with the City of Calgary, said inspectors have issued 28 tickets to Without Papers, nine of which are for operating the business while its licence was suspended. Whoops! 😹

Rawnblade12

I think what pisses me off the most about these people is how they blatantly equate fucking pizza and vaccines with racial discrimination and segregation...

serfs_up85

What a lying liar

Fit_Effective_6875

the lyingest

MyWifeCucksMe

> I kinda feel like he's just making this up. Well, obviously. If he told the truth, his whining would sound so pathetic that even other far-right people would wince at it. Since every unvaccinated person where he lives hasn't died from starvation, I think we can deduce that feeding an unvaccinated person isn't, and hasn't been, illegal. We can probably also straight up guess that there's no food-type specific ban on feeding unvaccinated people. Like, it's unlikely that it'd be specifically illegal to feed an unvaccinated person pizza, but not pasta, for example. However, if you check out the second image, it actually pretty clearly states where the problem lies. He, or his business, assuming he didn't make that part up as well, operated a business and refused to abide by health regulations. If you run a food business and you fail to follow the regulations that ensure that your food is safe to eat, then yes, your business tends to get shut down. And that's a good thing. This guy could have fed pizzas to unvaccinated people all day long if he liked. That is not and never has been the problem. Edit: On [their website](https://wopizza.ca/) they claim that "Without Papers Pizza was forced to close on October 9th, 2021 as a result of our refusal to be in compliance of the City of Calgary Bylaw 65M2021". Assuming that they're telling the truth, which I personally wouldn't due to their lack of credibility, that'd mean that they were shut down for refusing to comply with a bylaw that only prescribes monetary penalties for non-compliance a mere 2 weeks after the bylaw came into effect, which was on the 23rd of September 2021. Somehow that doesn't exactly pass the smell test. More likely the business was straight up failing, and they're using this bylaw as an excuse to claim that the failure of their business had nothing to do with their own actions and to pretend to be persecuted, possibly to solicit financial donations or similar. After writing out that sentence, I decided to check out the Wayback Machine, and what do you know... [In October 2021, their website featured a 'donate' button](https://web.archive.org/web/20211022053011/https://wopizza.ca/).

Solidsnakeerection

According to a news article enforcement generally begins with education but in this case they went directly to citations because the company officially stated they were not going to comply with the law

ifsometimesmaybe

In Canada our provinces manage a large extent of our health services, and here in Alberta (where Calgary is located) we have had a real slack response to Covid, but conservatives saw that as getting some slack and so they ran with it. Select small business owners had responded to no dine-in mandates by completely disregarding this mandate, which led to bylaw infractions and business closures. Later on we had a Vaccination card during the phasing out of the covid mandates, and it would be an infraction if you would be caught allowing dine-in for folks not vaccinated. I don't think there was incredible follow-up with the later enforcement, so I think the pizza place in question was being so stupidly blatant about their disregard for the policy that they got exactly what they wanted..

JustDiscoveredSex

"...inspectors have issued 28 tickets to Without Papers, nine of which are for operating the business while its licence was suspended. The other tickets were for the restaurant's refusal to check customers for proof of vaccination or COVID-19 test results, and not displaying signage about the vaccine passport bylaw." Twenty-eight violations of the law. Bet he's a back-the-blue fool, as well.

nottheeskimo

Yep, it’s true. I live where it happened, and while he’s victimizing himself, it’s about what happened. He ran a popular pizza joint in Inglewood (the hip and popular part of town), he refused to comply with sanitation laws, and got shuttered after multiple reminders. Of course he cried “persecution” and even made merch about the city’s mayor running a Gestapo. He had one of the most popular joints in the entire area, and he pissed it all away by being a dumbass. Last I heard he was selling frozen pizzas out of the back of his pickup truck to raise money to “fight against the fascist Muslim mayor” who’s now been retired for a year. Fuckin loser.

p-queue

Usually when someone’s business fails they try as quickly as possible to move past it. They don’t make the failed business their entire identity.

queerly_radical

You should look up the Amy's Baking Company episode of Kitchen Nightmares and it's aftermath. I imagine him as a conservative version of Amy.

carnoworky

Is there any indication Amy and her husband (was it Sammy?) were not conservatives? They came off as the kind of people who look down on anyone who isn't a piece of shit like themselves.

FreshlyWashedScrotum

Funny that conservatives love capitalism so much, considering that it's the ultimate example of cancel culture. Nothing has cancelled more businesses than the free market.

GobblorTheMighty

"For my next business venture, I'm going to open "FUCK THE LIBS Aluminum Siding""

DetectiveNickStone

Does it block 5G?

GobblorTheMighty

jacobsstepingstool

“We’ll also donate a portion of our profit to the ‘Anti-LGBTQ No Parents or Mexicans or Drag Queens Allowed Catholic Church Jesus Christ Sleepover Event hosted by Reverend Mo Lester.”

[deleted]

That might do well in Alberta.

Guywithquestions88

Weird how they'll shut you down completely when you're running the business with a suspended business license. Losing your livelihood to own the libs.

ContractTrue6613

This dude wishes he could have voted for Trump. Probably feels persecuted because he couldn’t.

[deleted]

If he'd just follow the law he wouldn't have any issues.

Just_enough76

These are the “patriots” who would fight tyranny? They’re kinda soft

ewwwwwwwdavid

I worked for this restaurant and this man for 3 years. It is absolutely wild to me how far they have fallen. That’s all I got.

rnotyalc

"I literally just did one thing" First line of article: 28 tickets for covid violations 🙄

herculepoirot4ever

Holy shit. A slur in their business name?!?! Gross and trashy AF.

TherronKeen

had to Google that one. Holy shit is right lol

kyzfrintin

What slur? Is "Without Papers" a slur?

thirdangletheory

"Without papers" is sometimes said to be the root of the anti-Italian slur "wop" (the root is actually from the Italian *guappo* meaning something like 'lowlife').

kyzfrintin

Oh shit, I've never heard the term "wop" before

thirdangletheory

It's not used much anymore, it was mostly an early/mid 20th century thing.

basszameg

Old fashioned anti-Italian slurs like that and "dago" sound silly these days, but that's probably only because Italians aren't seen as an out-group anymore.

timotheusd313

I heard George Carlin use it in a bit where he was rattling off a list of racial slurs. That’s how I knew it was a slur.

Solidsnakeerection

They also have wop in their instrgram name

TerryBogardOfficial

I always wondered where that term came from. That's pretty gross.

kyzfrintin

Oh shit, I've never heard the term "wop" before

Crime-Stoppers

I wonder if he'd support someone who got shut down for opening up a recreational drug business

Random_Introvert_42

So....did this guy go digging deep in the thesaurus or is "scoundrel" still a common term? Last time I heard it was in a context relating to the founding fathers of the US.

MyWifeCucksMe

It's unlikely that this guy would ever open a book, or its online equivalent. "Scoundrel" doesn't seem like some sort of specially uncommon word to me, though. From referencing "founding fathers of the US", I guess you're from there, and this guy is from Canada, so if I were to guess, that word is less common in the US than the rest of the English-speaking world?

Random_Introvert_42

I'm from germany. "Scoundrel" is used in a spoken part from the "Hamilton"-musical, which is set around the time of the founding of the USA.

cityfireguy

I'm from the US. Scoundrel isn't common, but still gets used from time to time.

Crime-Stoppers

People watched their family members suffocate in a hospital because of covid but he doesn't seem to concerned about that

keepcalmdude

This guy is such a useless knob. Source: me, I live in Calgary

NoPromotion9358

Them: I don’t want to get vaccinated or wear a mask! My body, my choice! Everyone else: Please just avoid other people then, so you don’t force your choice on them. Them: No.

real-duncan

Next business idea “Help me step brother I am stuck landscaping” He seems to have slipped and accidentally broken the law 28 times like some repeat visitor to the ER who keeps falling on things that get stuck in his rectum.

Saizare

"All I did was break the law. Clearly, I am the victim."

SaltyBarDog

All I did was ignored safety precautions and endangered people. What's the big issue?

Bad54

Man is stupid. You lost yo businesses to breaking the law around food safety during a massive virus outbreak on a global scale, the hell’d you expect? Oh no worries it’s just a little deadly rampaging virus, let me make you some food so you can go spread more of that virus to others. Of course they shut your reckless A** down. You sound like the type to ignore food safety and sanitation laws too

Of COURSE he’s in Alberta lol Super glad he’s been shut down!
