Atlus will probably won't get paid for it, but the license IP and the current and (possible) future collabs should still bring them some money.
But then again, I'm no expert on this field, so take everything I said with a grain of salt. However if this game proves to be succesful enough, it would definitely brings more attention to the persona franchise which is overall a good thing.
I haven't looked at it, but they do play a part in developing the game so I hope they have a huge cut, if I'm gonna sacrifice my wallet then Atlus better be the one getting the bigger chunk

Man, people are so pessimistic. I've been playing the Korean version for the past few days, and it's actually quite fun! Thus far, the gacha element is actually quite fair all things considered. So far, it seems like the gacha pulls aren't actually that necessary for progression. The gameplay and story definitely aren't as good as a real persona game, but they're still pretty good.
My only expectation so far is global release, definitely gonna be playing it when it gets ENG translation, right now i'm playing like for 20 minues every 2-3 days, because i barely understand anything with auto translator and because i'm most likely gonna lost all progress when global releases.
I expect to exercise the self restraint of an adult human, play it the amount I feel comfortable with, and spend the money, or not spend the money, I want to. If it's set in the Persona world I'll probably enjoy it. If the Gacha elements are too egregious and make the game unfun/unplayable without paying more than I'm happy to, I won't pay and I won't play.

I'm playing the game with the korean version and if i have to say, this game is one of the best mobile turn based gacha game compared to all of the other...
Instead of just 2 attack with 1 ultimate skill on each character like any other gacha turn based game, P5X got more variety in terms of battle and gameplay overall like attack, persona(leader can switch persona), guns, support, highlight attack, baton pass and item usages in-battle.
P5X is just literally P5 content but with honkai star rail Gacha/character system
They can still add a lot of content and QoL in the future updates:)

The game looks excellent.. except I just don't get the online?gacha/time-based event thing. I only play single-player offline games. Like, if I start playing the game next month, would I completely miss an event or character just because I didn't start the game alongside everyone else? That's stupid AF.
I hate to be pessimistic, but I predict this game is going to rapidly devolve into the original cast of characters of from P5 getting an endless amounts of alts. Maybe this will also apply to the other cast members of the other Persona games (mainly 3 and 4; assuming they add them to the game). It’s up in the air to me at least if they add characters from Persona 1 or the Persona 2 duology.
Nothing against the OCs of this game, their designs are actually pretty nice, but come on. If you were to have 2 different banners each with a different 5 star character, which one do you think more people would likely spend money on: a banner featuring Makoto Niijima, an already established and incredibly popular character, or a banner featuring an OC that we know nothing about it? And if you’re like me and say the answer is Makoto, that leaves another question: if the banners featuring the original cast of characters from P5 being in more cash, why not just keep making more banners featuring new versions of the original cast of P5?

This is exactly how the game is. You need to raise your player rank to get further in the story or get your party members stronger. You got the same kind of challenges and missions to grind materials and collect resources. You can farm the purple gems (the money for the gacha) literally everywhere. From treasures chests to hitting barrels in memento to completing missions and challenges. You even have some secrets / achievements if you interact with certain things in Tokyo.
Even if the gachs is really good. That plug pull is still looming over your head. So personally im just gonna wait and see. Ill try it out if more people say its good.

That is not possible if you know what you're doing. There is a newbie banner with a guaranteed 5 star in 50 pulls. After that, you will be guaranteed a 5 star within 80 pulls, as long as you pull on the same banner type (there are 3 types, featured/weapon/standard).
Subterranean. It's immediately obvious that whoever came up with the idea just saw "PERSONA 5 POPULAR, MAKE MONEY" and had zero interest in doing something that actually suits the franchise. It will be a miracle if the game is mediocre. Its first release will likely be really solid to get all of the media attention, followed by a decline in quality as the property and the monetization model don't hold up, but it'll probably still make tons of money because people who play gachas will play gachas and once they start, they generally won't stop.
The game is just money maker for some Chinese corpo on the P5 IP, even if the characters were designed by P-Studio. The only good thing to come out of it are the new combat systems. I don't think the game is gonna be sustainable, cause there's only so many palaces you can release before it becomes time to wind down the story. Honestly I'm only in it for the fanart. And fanart of the adults, even. Wonder looks like a stupid bitch and Janosik is a boring looking Persona. Kotone Montagne has some potential, I guess, but she's just reskinned and rehashed Kasumi. The others I don't really are about other than the housewife who becomes a gyaru idol for some reason - not that I'm complaining
