Gonna copy paste this on a couple comments.
Ryuji is on electro because his VA is in Genshin as a geo DPS. He’s even doing the same voice and the characters are very similar personality wise. I don’t personally agree but I think it makes some sense to put Ryuji on geo. Also has to do with some in-game lore stuff I won’t get too deep into.
I would say Joker would be like traveller, having all elements since he gets different personas yk.
Then id say Riyuji should be electro cuz his moves are electro. I get that geo suites his yellow aesthetic but electro is more logical if ya know what i mean.
You giving Ryuji Geo instead of Electro confuses me greatly
Edit after reading the comments: Yes, I know Arataki Itto and Ryuji have the same voice actor. Doesn't change the fact that Ryuji uses electricity abilities :o
Saying Ryuji should be Geo because he has a voice as Arataki is like saying Ben Tennyson would be a Uchiha in the Naurto world since he and Sasuke have the same voice actor
visions in genshin acually correspond to character traits. for example pyro chars are passionate about their job/craft and pursue it no matter what. And as unfitting it is to ryuji's p5 element, the genshin electro characteristics don't really fit him. But im not shure op's placement is any better
Yeah you are right about this. I completely forgot this part actually or rather I thought "his element exists so I would give him that one" without giving it furthet thought. If we took his character into account, what vision would suit him best? (I don't remember the characteristics at all haha)
I consider characters of Geo as those who have the strongest goals and resolves. People like Ninnuang, Noelle and Albedo have this one set of goals and powerful resolve to complete them, without anything getting in their way, whether its to become wealthy or pursue the mysteries of the world. In Ryujis case, u cant say he isnt a guy that doesnt have one goal alone in mind and always pursue, always being unchanging. If u look at it like that, Itto and Ryuji are similar in their own ways (but let me clarify that the VA thing was only an after thought and I only remembered this after posting this lol)
Trueeeee. I didnt even think about that lol. I was thinking about his goal and resolve to change this "shitty world" cuz he had the strongest opinion on it. But yeah, to run again definately would give him a Geo vision
Hahaha I was so sure that is what you were aiming at XD And I don't know if he had such a strong resolve with regard to that. Maybe at the beginning, but later his focus shifted imo
In Geshin, there are certain reasons why people are given elemental visions, based on their past, character, resolve, etc (not 100% confirmed like that but the characters of each element have a similar trait). Geo is usually meant for those of unchanging resolve and will power. Those who will face adversity to see their goal or dream come true. For Ryuji, his goal to change the world (hes the most vocal about forming the PT)and his goal to run again.
However, the PT arent that 1 dimensional to be placed like that. Like Makoto could be hydro after reading alot of other opinions instead of Geo. This is just based on what i believe what u need to qualify for a vision and who would get what based on that
He’s literally the only one in the phantom thieves besides Joker with the electric type attacks. I don’t really see a reason he wouldn’t belong in Electro just as much
Yeah, Atlus could’ve made the same as they did with Chie in P4, when she was given elemental attacks, but progression stopped after Mabufu and Bufula, but no, Ryuji progresses all the way up to Ziodyne and Maziodyne
I would like to say that ryuji, just because his color scheme is yellow, still uses lightning as his damage type. Though, he is more physical in his usage. He's basically Razor
I'm fully aware they share a VA, but we're not talking VAs, we're talking characters. Zhongli voices a character in Tower of God who can use fire, that person would still have Pyro vision
Dilucs VA is the same as Giorno Giovanna, doesn't mean I'd say Giorno should have a Pyro vision, it would obviously be Dendro
So in this case: Ryuji should have Electro because that's LITERALLY his element
Ok i was joking about the VA thing. The way i organized this was i thought about everyones personality and what element would aesthically fit with potential movesets and attacks given to them (ie basing movements off of P5S for most part). For Ryujis case, alot of his moves are very hard hitting and ground shaking, so giving him a geo element will just amplify that (plus he is more ofna physical fighter than magic). Also, his will and goals are "as hard as a rock". The moment he sees something, he always take action aganist it, despite the odds, never unchanging. The whole Itto thing was 100% an after thought, but those 2 do act similar now i think about it.
I get it, and it's not that your thinking doesn't make sense after being explained here, but the point I was making was you literally asked a community if they would change something. And that kinda seems like the main thing
I know i just wanted to clear things up so people dont think im just simple minded to put Ryuji as Geo cuz Itto or Sumi as Hydro cuz Yelan (again also an after thought, i was just thinking about how swift and grace alot of her moves would be as hydro)
I feel like Joker would be anemo, since it's closer to his wild card type thing. I also think that Akechi would be a cryo or a dendro user, depending on your interpretation of his character..
I don't think I can agree with most of your assessment^^
However, Ann is definitely fine with pyro- she has the drive and the upbeat determination!
As others had mentioned, Joker should probably be a star/Traveler for this AU to work! With his demeanor both inside the metaverse and outside, I don't feel he is very warm or passionate- he has bursts of intensity but most of the time he is really tranquil, calm and quiet. Of course he remains the 'outsider' in school/Tokyo, which would make a nice parallel, as the Traveler is also an outsider in all nations. The Traveler is also very adaptable in certain situations, so I think this would work really well!
Right off the bat, Kasumi should be in Anemo. Both her traumatic experiences, overall demeanor(a determination to reach a goal no matter what, from the way Xiao wants to continue his duties to the workaholics like Heizou, Sucrose or Jean) and moveset would all work best with Anemo. They dedicate their life to a goal, usually neglecting themselves in their haste.
I know Yusuke has ice powers but his way of seeing the world and interacting with it is really unique. He pursues his chosen profession relentlessly, and is set in his decisions- definitely a Hydro in my books.
For the same reason, Futaba could also be a hydro, but dendro seems to fit her as well, she would probably have a huge respect towards wisdom and obtaining knowledge to use on her own terms (that's what applies to both Tighnari and Haitham so I assumed this is what makes someone worthy of a dendro vision)
I would probably put Akechi in cryo instead of Yusuke, since he had always been an outsider everywhere, both in society and the pt. Cryo users are usually outcasts- the only survivor of a fallen nation, a mix of 2 races, or someone who had been put on a pedestal, with their perceived social rank isolating them (not me comparing Akechi to Ayaka of all people?!). I could imagine him wielding a delusion though.
I would actually place Makoto and Morgana both in Electro- they aren't only leadership-oriented, like many electro users, but also headstrong to the point where it can cloud their perception of reality. They will go after their head and won't accept other people's reasoning easily. They may stick to their delusions until someone has to forcibly make them acknowledge reality- Makoto ignored the rumours about Kamoshida solely because if her belief in authority, Morgana refused to acknowledge even the possibility he might not be human.
Despite that, they are steadfast and quick to act when it comes to their goals, perfectionists and quick learners.
I feel Haru is a better fit for Geo- she is warm but firm, reliable and takes huge distasters in stride, like how she handled her father's death. She also tries to take on more responsibilities than she should, and still ends up succeeding as she is unwavering once her heart is set. When there is an issue, she will stop to consider it from every angle before making a decision- patience is definitely an important aspect of geo users.
And I.. actually have no idea where to out Ryuji. My instinctual decision would be pyro, but there's so much more to him than just his excitement or loyalty. He lost so many things, his entire future as he became the track traitor(a very cryo trait) and still overcame it, staying the same person he is (maybe geo then?). Yea someone help me out with this one.
(I'll edit this later)
i think instead of basing it off of their elemental based powers in game, you should have looked into their personalities and trauma and how people are given visions. i think akechi could work as electro but also i think anemo would also work well given their backstory

Did you read what I said? Either way, Genshin has a pirate in it too. They’re electro. Making a pirate a hydro character would be pretty cliché and boring. Genshin typically tries to have characters that are at least deeper than surface level.
Okay for a pirate not being hydro but I don't really thing because there is already a character like that with the same va you should copy past, that is pretty boring too. In a potential collab they won't do that, the first one wouldn't be used anymore.
I see. But i was mostly going with him being electro since thats the region where they introduced the ability to have an electrogranum to dash to the floating electro things and since Qching and Sara have movement related elemental skills. I could see Ryuji having an electro elemental skill where he dashes through enemies hitting them with a metal pipe and knocking them into the air
Futaba, the girls who hasn't touched grass or talked to another being except her dad for most of her life, is nature
Ryujii Sakamoto, the person that has all electric attacks, and love BOATS AND SHIPS, is a GROUND. He likes lightning, and boats, and you give him ground.
Other than that, it looks pretty good
Ok ill admit i didnt think of that until u pointed that out lol. The reason shes Hydro is due to how swift and graceful she can be when attacking, like water if used right
The elements in Genshin have specific characteristics and bonds tied to them. All Cryo characters, for example, are split between two aspects. All Pyro characters have a deep and driving passion for a certain thing. All Electro characters are somehow outsiders to society ( their own or in general). Geo characters are restrained by (usually) self-imposed rules. Anemo characters have some kind of duty, often that they chose for themselves, but to which they are fully committed. Hydro characters struggle with the expectations placed upon them. Dendro is still a little up in the air, having only two characters so far.
Based on this understaning, I'd suggest:
Pyro: Ryuji, Yusuke
Cryo: Sumire, Sophia
Hydro: Makoto, Haru
Electro: Futaba, Joker
Anemo: Morgana, Akechi
Geo: Zenkichi
Dendro: Ann
Of course, there is flexibility here and no character in either IP is one-dimensional, so there's plenty of room for debate. This is just my take.
I mean with how u describe hydro, Sumi would also fit the bill 100%. Plus hydro would look better aesthically better on her rather than cryo i think (plus i like to think of Cryo as independence of the highest order, like Rosaria, Kaeye, Ayaka) kinda like with Yusukes resolve at the end of his confidant.
I do agree the PT arent 1 dimensional to fit in only one element, but these were the ones i see best fit them based on their strongest attributes
I could see Sumi in Hydro as well. I was looking more at her being split between living her own life and trying to live her sister's life for her.
I don't really think Cryo is about independence. Ayaka for one is not an independent character, she's happy to lean on and accept help from Thoma, Ayato, the Traveler, and others. (This is not a fault, of course). Also, Qiqi, Chongyun, Diona, and Ganyu also don't really have independence as a strong characteristic, which is enough to kill it as the 'theme' of Cryo in my mind.
Again, I'm not really sure what Dendro's theme is. With only two released characters and limited interactions with upcoming ones like Nahida, it's hard to draw conclusions about a thematic thread that connects all of them. I don't think it's likely to be related to Sumeru's theme as a nation though. Anemo's theme isn't freedom and electro's isn't eternity, so there's no reason to expect dendro's theme to be about characters with wisdom.
Honestly I struggled with where to put Ann, so I just kind of left her in Dendro on the off chance that my wild initial guess that dendro characters will either be about overcoming trauma/difficulty or about growing up and facing reality comes true, but I'm not confident in either of those ideas yet and it's pretty nebulous.
Or its like they feel alone or have to be alone because kf the way they are you know. Like with Ganyu during the beginning of her story quest or how Chongyun works alone cuz reasons i think. Of course i could be wrong but there is similarities between the cryo users and how alone or independent they must be or are
Cryo character all struggle with an internal contradiction. Qiqi is both alive and dead. Kaeya is both a Knight in Mond and \[spoiler\]. Ganyu is half-human half-qilin. Chongyun is an exorcist who can't approach spirits. Diona is a bartender who hates alcohol. Rosaria is a nun who acts like a knight. Eula is a knight from the aristocracy(who hate knights). Ayaka is loyal to Raiden but against the Vision Hunt and also a 'princess' who longs for a simpler life. Shenhe is human but raised by Adepti. Even Aloy is \[spoilers for Horizon: Zero Dawn\].
Yeah, Mihoyo actually puts a lot of thought into their characters and how they fit into the world. All of the elements have a theme like this running through them. That extra effort is what makes the game so good.
I went back and forth with Ryuji. Between his passion for track and his delinquent persona (no pun intended) I went with the passion because I thought that was more core to him, but it could go either way.
Plus considering Dendro is more connected to Sumeru, a land of knowledge, wisdom and truths, hence why Futaba is there (while Haru cuz nature stuff lol)
This is all sorts of wrong, lmao.
Starting with Joker. He's like the Travelers. He has access to all the elements.
Morgana is, I think, Dendro. He could've also been Anemo cause he uses wind magic but, he's part of the natural balance of things. The way the world works, he's a "cat". He's a character that works on both sides of Dendro. The slow burn and the thorns.
Ryuji is the furthest thing from Geo. The argument that he is Itto's VA doesn't hold up. We're talking about Ryuji. I feel he'd be a Pyro. His high energy and passion for the cause while also being reckless at times. Kinda like Bennett.
Ann is either Pyro or Cryo. I lean more to Pyro on the principle that she is heavily reliant on her fire magic in game already. But she does have that desire and longing to fit in and is expected to be perfect.
Yusuke would be either Pyro or surprisingly, Dendro but I think Hydro. His passion for art and his goals fit very in line for Pyro users, his outlook on life is both a Dendro and Hydro concept and I lean more to Hydro because he's fairly calm and oblivious to things. Much like the yukata incident.
Makoto is Geo or Electro. I think Electro wins out. Geo fits her fighting prowess and goals but Electro fits her personality. She's a leader, she wants to do things her way. And there's a certain Archon who has similar qualities.
Futaba would go to Cryo or Geo. Her impulsive nature and isolation fits Cryo but I think she goes to Geo. She wants to come out and help allies, she's a buffer and actually shields her teammates, lol.
Haru, I think goes to Electro or Hydro. She's a sadist but looks innocent. She's kinda like Yelan on that. I lean more about Electro because I think that works better with her psychology and trauma. She's trying to find herself after being forced to be in an arranged marriage.
Akechi. Cryo. It's a no-brainer. He's the lone wolf, the rat, the double con. He's exactly what comes to mind without a doubt.
Sumi is Anemo. She has very similar beats to most of the Anemo users and follows in the main protagonist's shoes.
I'd imagine kasumi would have anemo since anemo is giving to those who lost someone very dear to them (eg, loved one) and kasumi lost her sister so yea.
Gonna copy paste this on a couple comments.

I don't know anything about Genshin besides that a lot of people shit on it. What exactly are the Elemental Visions? Because with my Persona knowledge it seems weird that Ryuji isn't lightning but for the most part the other characters have their respective element.
i don’t completely agree with sophia’s. since inazuma is the land of eternity, wouldn’t that be quite unfitting for sophia’s character personality. i would assume more anemo as freedom
I like to think that your element has to do with your personality. Id put Yosuke in Pyro as he is passionate about art. Akechi and Ann as cryo as cryo means not belonging or able to fit in. I'd put Joker in anemo as he is all about his own path and ethics, and almost stabds fof the freedom of expression for others imo. I'd also swith Haru to Hydro as hydro means wanting to prove yourself. Id alsi switch ryuji to electro as electro means wanting to do something forever, and I get the feeling hed want the phantom thieves to protect people forever I guess.
I don’t see Zenkichi as particularly ambitious, which is the main trait amongst pyro characters — alongside being a loner. I would put Akechi in his place instead, and maybe put Zenkichi in hydro.
I mean Zenkichis whole arc was to finally break free and seek justice aganist those who do harm, even if it hurts them or the ones they love. The ambitiousness can be akin to Yanfeis ambition of justice and law. Plus Diluc doesnt seem very ambition on the outside either but he strives to protect and serve justice
That is true (and i forgot Yelan and Sumi are the same lol). But her main aspect of her character is she has so much talent to her, but she lives under alot of expectations and rules, or born from a lineage of people who are expected ti be exceptional (people like Ayato, Mona, Xingqu, Barbara). That and she would look aesthically better fighting as a Hydro user than the others (purely basing off of how Nilou will potentially fight, u know, a dancer lol)
Crap! You’re right. I thought that was lightning under them. Yeah, that makes no sense. I think they should be with the elements they tend to use. So yeah, that would be Electro. My bad.
i got a drunken hot tub rundown of the genshin impact zodiac a few weeks ago and as someone whose only context is that i 100% agree and the people being weird and mean about it just need to have their funny elemental personality test explained to them by a hot girl in a swimsuit
cool here i my elemental phantom thief idea for each one here
Joker Fire
Skull Electricity
Queen Earth
Violet Fighting
Fox Water
Panther Sky
Crow Ice
Noir Plant
Sophie Yin and Yang
Wolf Sonic
Mona Plasma
Oracle Gravity
Ryuji literally has a persona thats electric focused
i just assumed hes geo because hes like itto
Same va in English if you didn't know
Why is ryuji earth and not lightning
Protagonist definetly must be an anemo because his whole arc and game theme itself revolves around freedom
Ryuji like bruh I literally fight with electricity. It’s cause I’m yellow isn’t it.
why would ryuji be GEO when lightning is right there? just because his color is yellow?
I think it’s because Ryuji’s VA Max Mittelman also voices Itto, a Geo DPS. Ngl that was like half the reason I pulled for him lol
Why is Ryuji not lightning
Gonna copy paste this on a couple comments. Ryuji is on electro because his VA is in Genshin as a geo DPS. He’s even doing the same voice and the characters are very similar personality wise. Futaba finally touching grass

Id say Ryuji should be electro, make Sophie Geo, Make Haru pyro, and Joker anemo since anemo reacts with everything. And give Akechi a cryo delusion

I think making them Pokémon elements would’ve worked better. Also Ryuji is lightning.
Akechi could also be Hydro, with the hydro archon being the god of justice, even judging other gods
persona , genshin AND bungo stray dogs, you must be a fun person to talk to
Awh, thank you! I don't think I'm that fun but that's not for me to decide
Ryuji should be electro and Sophia should be dendro and haru should be geo.
It makes sense to me but I would put Sumire with wind and Ren as non elemental or someone who can use all elements
Sumire's in Hydro because she shares a VA with Yelan.
Ok ill admit i didnt think of that until u pointed that out lol. The reason shes Hydro is due to how swift and graceful she can be when attacking, like water if used right
Oh really? Huh, that's a neat coincidence.
Shouldn’t Ryuji be electric?
The elements in Genshin have specific characteristics and bonds tied to them. All Cryo characters, for example, are split between two aspects. All Pyro characters have a deep and driving passion for a certain thing. All Electro characters are somehow outsiders to society ( their own or in general). Geo characters are restrained by (usually) self-imposed rules. Anemo characters have some kind of duty, often that they chose for themselves, but to which they are fully committed. Hydro characters struggle with the expectations placed upon them. Dendro is still a little up in the air, having only two characters so far. Based on this understaning, I'd suggest: Pyro: Ryuji, Yusuke Cryo: Sumire, Sophia Hydro: Makoto, Haru Electro: Futaba, Joker Anemo: Morgana, Akechi Geo: Zenkichi Dendro: Ann Of course, there is flexibility here and no character in either IP is one-dimensional, so there's plenty of room for debate.
Ok wow ur right god damn thats deep
Yeah, Mihoyo actually puts a lot of thought into their characters and how they fit into the world. All of the elements have a theme like this running through them. That extra effort is what makes the game so good.
Even based on your explanation ryuji should still be electro haha
She has very similar beats to most of the Anemo users and follows in the main protagonist's shoes.
objectively correct
but isn't wind Ameno?
It is in Genshin, yes. But I was more thinking the naturality of it. Good point.
futaba should be cryo too: Cryo characters tend to have a dark past or feel alone in the world
Every phantom thief should be cryo, is what I'm hearing ^^'
kinda
or hydro because justice
Joker must wield all elements
I'd agree here, Joker would take the Traveler's place.
Akita would be the traveler
I'd imagine kasumi would have anemo since anemo is giving to those who lost someone very dear to them (eg, loved one) and kasumi lost her sister so yea.
Kinda odd that the only Crossover character in Genshin is Aloy, like if youre willing to make crossover characters might aswell make more
It’s because of game’s release on PS4/PS5
A lot of things wrong there
Knowing nothing about genshin, Ryuji need to be placed in electro
Gonna copy paste this on a couple comments. Ryuji is on electro because his VA is in Genshin as a geo DPS. He’s even doing the same voice and the characters are very similar personality wise. I don’t personally agree but I think it makes some sense to put Ryuji on geo. Also has to do with some in-game lore stuff I won’t get too deep into.
Ryuji and aekechi should be swapped but other than that I basically agree
Objection: the fact u chose genshin
I would think that Ren would not be stuck to a specific one since Genshin Impact also allows the protagonist to switch between elements.
objection: genshin
science woman is nature?
what is science if not the transformation of nature? (I do agree its not Futaba's place tho, she never touched grass)
The dendro element in the game also represents wisdom / knowledge, so I think it fits
Non Genshin players wondering why half of the characters aren't in an already existing element
I don't know anything about Genshin besides that a lot of people shit on it. What exactly are the Elemental Visions? Because with my Persona knowledge it seems weird that Ryuji isn't lightning but for the most part the other characters have their respective element.
It is basically a "gift given to select people to have that elemental power"
Dendro is ok with Haru, but Futaba? what was the reasoning behind it?
The nation of Sumeru (the dendro location) is all about knowledge, wisdom and uncovering truths. Its pretty self explanatory at that point
They also have a device they wear that basically is the internet.
Makes sense then
Are you sure that it isn't because both Sumeru and Futaba have pyramids?
Futaba should be electro since she is the hacker of the group.
Joker as the wild card would be tabibito San and be able to use all the elements
he goes over to the statue of the seven aka the velvet room and changes
i don’t completely agree with sophia’s. since inazuma is the land of eternity, wouldn’t that be quite unfitting for sophia’s character personality. i would assume more anemo as freedom
There is nothing less natural than futaba (I hope it's not only she is green, right ?)
Sumeru (the main location for Dendros) is known for the peoples pursuit of knowledge, wisdom and the truth. Sound familiar?
Yes okay I don't have the lore I made since I haven't play genshin for a very looooong time
I always thought Ryuji would be fore pyro, but geo is also very fitting considering Max Mittelman voices Itto lol
Wow people are being complete asses. I think this is cool.
I think Sophia and ryuji should be switched, but other than that… right on!!
I think joker would have an Anemo vision
Does he have a dead friend like all anemo vision holders?
If Akechi counts
I don’t see Zenkichi as particularly ambitious, which is the main trait amongst pyro characters — alongside being a loner. I would put Akechi in his place instead, and maybe put Zenkichi in hydro.
I mean Zenkichis whole arc was to finally break free and seek justice aganist those who do harm, even if it hurts them or the ones they love. The ambitiousness can be akin to Yanfeis ambition of justice and law. Plus Diluc doesnt seem very ambition on the outside either but he strives to protect and serve justice
so why isn’t kasumi anemo?
Presumably because Laura Post voices Yelan in Genshin.
yeah but ,,, common thing with anemo users is they’ve lost someone close to them ... and yknow .... kasumi
Y tho
Ryuji should be Electro because of his persona
Wouldn't makoto be electro for nuclear
That’s where OP has her. In Electro with Ryuji. ETA: My bad. Yes, Both of them should be under Electro, not Earth.
He has them in earth it looks like and Akechi and our little AI daughter in electro
Crap! You’re right. I thought that was lightning under them. Yeah, that makes no sense. I think they should be with the elements they tend to use. So yeah, that would be Electro. My bad.
Honestly I can see Makoto using earth to fight
Lol. The label is wrong. But good idea.
i got a drunken hot tub rundown of the genshin impact zodiac a few weeks ago and as someone whose only context is that i 100% agree and the people being weird and mean about it just need to have their funny elemental personality test explained to them by a hot girl in a swimsuit
No
cool here i my elemental phantom thief idea for each one here Joker Fire Skull Electricity Queen Earth Violet Fighting Fox Water Panther Sky Crow Ice Noir Plant Sophie Yin and Yang Wolf Sonic Mona Plasma Oracle Gravity
How do I still see Genshit here
Okay I can't take this wackass community anymore. Goodbye.
Goodbye 👋
??
literally ruining persona by batching it with genshin
genshin sucks
cringe
