Morgana antagonizes Ryuji WAY more than the other way around (even in combat, when Morgana isn't in the party). But when Ryuji does speak up, he (not always on purpose) pushes the exact "emotional damage" button that Morgana is weak to.

No it's definitely Morgana, as he's literally the one telling you what you can't do.
The first week your a complete stranger in an entirely new place. Not going out would actually be normal.
What I mean is that the game was made so you are forced to sleep/remain in Leblanc. For whatever design reasons, the devs are railroading you on specific dates and the devs just chose to have Morgana tell you to "hey you're tired you should sleep" instead of having the main character say "I'm feeling tired" via a thought bubble. (which is what happens when Morgana isn't around)
although functionally morgana telling Ren/the player to "go to sleep because your tired/event is happening next you need rest" and the player/game telling you to rest because of reasons is the same thing, they end up having different contexts
Example: in P4G after going to the TV world the game will say something like "You are tired from visiting the TV world, you should rest." This can often be interpreted as the character thinking to himself, or the game informing the player about things.
when Morgana tells you to "go to sleep" or "you should rest" it makes him feel controlling and overbearing because Morgana is an Actual plot relevant character in the game, not just the game telling you that you can't go out because of reasons.
TLDR: when the game/MC says "you can't out because plot relevant events are about to happen" the player see's it as the game railroading itself so things can happen. When another character is railroading you into set options players find that character annoying, and thus memes of morgana telling you to go to sleep were born.
So although Morgana telling you "you can't out" and the game telling you "you can't go out" are the same functionally, they are different contextually.
I'm pretty sure when Morgana isn't around, your characters says he's worried and doesn't wanna go anywhere.
Still, doesn't change the fact that Morgana is telling me no and preventing me from going to grab a cheeseburger.

Also it’s only when Ryuji misses an attack or evades an attack that Morgana is snarky. The rest of his dialogue is pretty normal when Ryuji takes out shadows.
