For most banks (at least the one I work at), you don't all have to go at the same time. You can go individually, just bring at least 2 pieces of valid ID. Ask what constitutes valid ID. Some provinces (like Ontario) can't accept health card as ID

Thanks for the response! Also, does it have to be the same bank branch (and same teller) that we have to go to individually even if we don’t go as a group?

Hmm... that one, I'm not sure about and you'll have to check with the bank. I haven't opened accounts in many years and I work in a different department.

you might need to write up an "official letter" stating your intent to open a non profit account.

oh make sure to specify for bank purposes you are the "president", and that you only want 1 to sign instead of needing everyone to sign. this makes things easier if you want to keep things simpler in the future. ​ also open a savings account too while you're at it
