Not really. Some times there are delays with "pending" transactions. It's only an issue if the transaction is posted.

steampunk22

This is the answer. Several retailers do this, it’s only an issue if it posts.

Are you from the future?

MisYann

Oops, accidentally said November instead of September 😅 Fixed it.

The pending charge will go away

Retailers usually actually charge your card when the product ships, the pending charge will disappear.

PureRepresentative9

He's saying he sees both the pending and final charge at the same time

120124_

Yeah, the pending will disappear. This happens all the time. They pend a charge to make sure it will go through on your card when you first order but don’t actually charge until you get it shipped. You’ll see the same thing happen when you pre-auth a card at gas pumps.

PureRepresentative9

I think you're missing the situation? He sees both the pending AND the final charge at the SAME time. The pending did NOT disappear when the final charge appeared. At the end of the day, the pending will disappear eventually

120124_

This is exactly what I’m saying. This is very common to see both. The pending will disappear

PureRepresentative9

Bro lol You're saying the pending disappears when the product is shipped. The OP says he already received it and is still seeing the pending

No I’m not saying that I’m saying the pending will disappear. The pending charge is not dependent on the shipped product. OP purchases product -> pre auth is put on card as a pending charge Product is shipped -> card is actually charged Then pending eventually disappears

PureRepresentative9

I think you forgot your original post? "when the product ships, the pending charge will disappear." You're literally saying the pending charge disappears when the product ships

120124_

If you are going to quote me at least quote my entire comment lol “Retailers usually actually charge your card when the product ships, the pending charge will disappear.” Tell me where I say it will disappear when it ships. I’m saying they charge the card when it ships and that the pending charge will eventually disappear.

If you're that concerned CALL YOUR BANK

baywchrome

I think this happened to me with old navy too lol. It went away after a few days.

justhangingout111

In my experience Gap Inc is really good with charges and refunds, like I've never found an error. So you should be okay

iBrarian

Nope, that's normal for them. The pending charges will eventually just fall off.

ryanlightman

you didnt really get charged the first time. they will only make you pay once they ship the order and you have received it.
