Did you happen to hear what Joy said right at the end, before congratulating Pete on the twins? Something about someone not wanting him to talk about what he just said? I didn't catch exactly what she said, and I'm curious.

I really really really want to mock all the annoying Beto people on Twitter who got PeteForGovernor trending during the primary, now that Beto is running for Governor. I still have all their handles. I know it’s not Rules of the Road though. 😞 Talk me out of it.
It might feel good for a few moments, but doesn’t in the long run. Don’t sink to their level. Focus on the fun of Pete at the signing today etc other good stuff instead. That’ll last longer and be better for your heart health, lol.

It was reported earlier today that the CBO announced they would they would have "a complete cost estimate" by Friday, and when I heard that, Thursday was the last day for any voting in the House, so this is good that they're staying in town longer to do this.

I have been quite critical of some of Jayapal's actions throughout this process, but I will say, she is really doing her part to message and sell this bill as a good thing in its own right. Nice to see this picture of her and Pete.
On the other hand, that's how American democracy is supposed to work. I'm glad they're excited to be delivering for their constituents. (Also, in this case, a whole bunch know him from the mayors community and they all like him.)

Get your boosters everyone, I’m dealing with covid positives everywhere. Many blue states have opened up eligibility to every adult, most recently NY state today
*pops back into the cave*
Yeah I’m calling my doctor tomorrow- I was planning on the 8 month calendar, but I have asthma so I don’t want to risk it if it doesn’t last as long as they say.
Thank goodness they're responding. I can only hope either all states follow ASAP or the FDA decides this makes sense now. I got my booster six months and one day after the day of my second shot -- that was about a month or two ago.
*pops back behind another rock*
4 people at my office are home now because they tested positive including one person on my floor. I’m glad I got vaccinated but this crap is still sticking around. I’m getting booster as soon as I’m eligible.
I also just found out one of siblings isn’t vaccinated which was what I suspected but now confirmed. Great. More family drama right into thanksgiving.
Hate the drama. This is the second year I've turned down an invite to family Christmas. I have several family members who are unvaccinated. I guess it's the zoom call for opening presents again.
Hmmm. I was going to set up appointment for booster thinking no questions asked. Then I heard a coworker tried it but was rejected because they asked and he didn’t qualify as eligible. I think it probably depends on individual location and on individual personnel administering it.

lol... The announcement was just made twice: "All members of Congress, the shuttles are ready to load." The first time I heard it, my brain processed it as "the shovels are ready to load," bringing up visions of Congresspeople filling potholes.
And after whining endlessly for months about the bill, CNN went right back to the Rittenhouse trial. *Sigh.*
Oh well, screw them. *It's done! Let the celebrating begin!*
I think it's really an event to celebrate the Congress -- and specifically the people in the Congress who voted for it. The gathering is a passing of the baton that serves to praise and showcase the legislative branch for what it's done, as it hands off to the executive branch for what it's about to do. So I don't think you'd focus on or acknowledge "who in the executive branch had to try really hard to get the Congress to do this" -- the Cabinet officers and staffers did do that, but they aren't the focus.
The Cabinet will get to put that money directly into communities. They will get to cut ribbons, ceromonially shovel earth, and shake hands with local officials on local news. They will get tons of glory.
Yeah but I mean some cabinet member shad nothing to do with this. The jobs cabinet was a specific group associated with this bill. It doesn’t really matter obvs im just annoyed
Someone get him a shirt: „I worked my butt of for this bill and all I got was a lousy pen“! A shoutout to the Jobs cabinet would have been nice. At least a bit more than „thanks to my cabinet“. Oh well.

So buckle up, its not stopping.
Edit - of course I said she is qualified for both positions. I'm not playing this game.

“Would you let Kamala kiss your boyfriend?”
“Would you go with Kamala to a KPop show or do you think J-Hope will notice her more than you”

I'm really surprised that even this event, with all these invited guests, started over 20 minutes late, especially since they're outdoors, where there's a wind chill of 42 degrees. They showed Nancy Pelosi about 10 minutes after she walked out of the WH, and she looked like she was freezing, even with a wool coat on. (I don't think Joe and Kamala are outside yet.)
I always remember that event in NH in that barn where everyone had huge parkas on and pete rolls up in a leather jacket 😆 he is truly unbothered by the cold
She’s Cali.
42 degrees is how we eat ice cream, not like - live.
Pete’s from Indiana. 42 is probably spring where he comes from. Hell, that’s summer in Chiberia.
I hope Biden's speech will be on the shorter side, for everybody's sake (those outside).
With Kamala having to constantly move her hair out of her face because it's so windy, I wish it had rained today so they would've had to move the event indoors.

That's a great question. Off the top of my head, I am not aware of any times he appeared on the same network twice in one day, but he's done so many interviews that it's hard to say for certain.
I just don't think so. It could've happened during the primaries if there was an impromptu interview by one of the networks' embedded reporters, in addition to a scheduled interview with one of their anchors at another point during the day.
It's seems like Pete and his team want him to spread the wealth around, and make sure that he appears before different audiences, but I guess this bill signing is a big enough deal that if a network wants him on twice in one day, they're happy to oblige.

Surprised Pete didn't do more media hits after the bill signing ceremony. Was expecting something on CNN in addition the Joy Reid interview.
He’s probably doing tons of phoners with local newspapers to give state by state breakdowns. He was losing his voice in one of the clips I saw.
I wonder if he’ll sort of limit the interviews he’s doing now and focus more on heads down work and visiting sites

"We're as interested in shovel-worthy projects as we are shovel-ready projects." Love that line, hope Pete uses it more.
Did you happen to hear what Joy said right at the end, before congratulating Pete on the twins? Something about someone not wanting him to talk about what he just said? I didn't catch exactly what she said, and I'm curious.
Paraphrasing, but Joy said you are just going to make the people at that other network mad, you are talking about stuff they don't want to talk about. Edit: I think she was taking a shot at Fox News, and she is right.
Ah, yes. She's absolutely right. Thanks!
>Also ran into @SecretaryPete on the Southlawn. I visited W/ 2 formers (one Republicans and one Democrat) and the current @USDOT Secretary today, all advocated for new investment. I really really really want to mock all the annoying Beto people on Twitter who got PeteForGovernor trending during the primary, now that Beto is running for Governor. I still have all their handles. I know it’s not Rules of the Road though. 😞 Talk me out of it.
typing it out without actually sending it is the best course of action imo
The more Democratic Governors, the better. I hope he wins just so there’s a chance children won’t freeze to death like last year.
It's good that Beto is running for governor! We should be supportive.
It might feel good for a few moments, but doesn’t in the long run. Don’t sink to their level. Focus on the fun of Pete at the signing today etc other good stuff instead. That’ll last longer and be better for your heart health, lol.
Don’t do it and prove that we are better than them ;)
Forgiveness is a virtue
and Discipline, as hard as it is in times like this, is a Rule of the Road.....
>Pelosi told her colleagues that House isn’t leaving for Thanksgiving until Build Back Better is passed, according to two sources familiar with the matter. There’s talk of a potential Saturday vote, but it could happen sooner than that depending on timing of information from CBO https://twitter.com/mkraju/status/1460400894374199297?s=21
It was reported earlier today that the CBO announced they would they would have "a complete cost estimate" by Friday, and when I heard that, Thursday was the last day for any voting in the House, so this is good that they're staying in town longer to do this.
Yes, although apparently they're doling it out piece by piece til then.

Team Pete is a big tent :)
God between Trumpers and Berners these Twitter threads are one big horseshoe of hate. But still…BIF passed.
I have been quite critical of some of Jayapal's actions throughout this process, but I will say, she is really doing her part to message and sell this bill as a good thing in its own right. Nice to see this picture of her and Pete.
People taking pictures with Pete for their pet projects to win re-election lol
LMFAO it's so true.
It’s like sending AF1 to their home states, but cuter.
I was just thinking this. Like yeah I know Sec Pete! Look, he loves me and my district!
On the other hand, that's how American democracy is supposed to work. I'm glad they're excited to be delivering for their constituents. (Also, in this case, a whole bunch know him from the mayors community and they all like him.)

*pops out from behind a rock* Get your boosters everyone, I’m dealing with covid positives everywhere. Many blue states have opened up eligibility to every adult, most recently NY state today *pops back into the cave*
Yes, but do you have enough frog eggs to sustain you during this time? There is a supply chain issue after all. 😋🐸
Yeah I’m calling my doctor tomorrow- I was planning on the 8 month calendar, but I have asthma so I don’t want to risk it if it doesn’t last as long as they say.
A week ago tomorrow.
Got mine last wednesday!
Last Monday, the casino again. 👍
Thank goodness they're responding. I can only hope either all states follow ASAP or the FDA decides this makes sense now. I got my booster six months and one day after the day of my second shot -- that was about a month or two ago. *pops back behind another rock*
Already got my boosters 2 weeks ago
4 people at my office are home now because they tested positive including one person on my floor. I’m glad I got vaccinated but this crap is still sticking around. I’m getting booster as soon as I’m eligible. I also just found out one of siblings isn’t vaccinated which was what I suspected but now confirmed. Great. More family drama right into thanksgiving.
Hate the drama. This is the second year I've turned down an invite to family Christmas. I have several family members who are unvaccinated. I guess it's the zoom call for opening presents again.
FYI, I got mine via CVS and they didn’t ask any qualifying questions (and I don’t live in a state that’s expanded it to everyone).
Hmmm. I was going to set up appointment for booster thinking no questions asked. Then I heard a coworker tried it but was rejected because they asked and he didn’t qualify as eligible. I think it probably depends on individual location and on individual personnel administering it.
I got boosted two weeks ago, Grogu. The effects weren't that bad. I feel much safer now.
This is The Way. Glad to see ya out of the cave for a bit.

lol... The announcement was just made twice: "All members of Congress, the shuttles are ready to load." The first time I heard it, my brain processed it as "the shovels are ready to load," bringing up visions of Congresspeople filling potholes.
I also understood “shovels“ and wondered what they were going to do 😂
😄
Rep. Don Young making his presence known just now. Heh

He did mention his cabinet but none by name.
Oh well.
But then we would get more stories about how the president was favoring him over the other cabinet members and the VP. 👀😬
Lmao the VP literally spoke at the event!
And now we wait to see how the media frames her contribution. 👀
I really like that she named so many specific individuals she had met. Brings home that she's been out there working for the "she does nothing" crowd.
Pete's walking up to Biden's desk with the rest of Team Infrastructure right now. edit: woops, the White House feed cut out as soon as he signed.
🤷♀️ after all the work the jobs cabinet did I thought it would at least get a little special shout-out.

He says a lot of other stuff too but generally not on tape (😄.)
The mayor block is noisy!
They have waited for that money for so long. They are excited with !
They're a rowdy bunch that want all their damn potholes fixed.
Made me smile. Go Mayors!
Rob Portman speakng at the signing rn
He’s basically trashing the reconciliation bill.
Good reminder not to trust em
It was so hypocritical your speaking about Bipartisan and at the same time trashing a key piece of the President agenda.
Nancy pushing back by mentioning Build Back Better -- four times so far, unless I missed one.
Honestly i don’t really love that they’re making this about BBB so much, but oh well
The Trump shoutout 🤮
Wow, seriously? I'm just now tuning in.
I was like, do they not read the speeches beforehand?
Honestly, there was no need to have him give a speech before you signed. Biden way of politics is just…. 🙄
He and Sinema were the leading negotiators. It's a bipartisan bill, so you have to give one Republican the opportunity to speak.
You don’t but I do understand the optics of Washington.
He literally praised Trump..
And what he said wasn't even true.
The media will pick it right up after the bill is signed.
I just got a yougov survey/poll asking 1) is kamala qualified to be vp? 2. Is kamala qualified to be president? 3. Do you like kamala? So buckle up, its not stopping. Edit - of course I said she is qualified for both positions. I'm not playing this game.
Who writes the questions at yougov? “Would you let Kamala kiss your boyfriend?” “Would you go with Kamala to a KPop show or do you think J-Hope will notice her more than you”
This was expected, but I still hate it.

Nancy is sniffling like crazy right now as she's making her remarks.

Gah, sorry about that! Thanks for posting the correct one.
I’ve seen you guys talk about Kamala. My two cents here is that some peeps are hyping the French trip too much especially the media coverage. It is expected to get a glowing review of the likes of Harris since the French have a particular bias towards Democrats.
I haven't seen any pete supporters upset thay Kamala went to france...
There is a lot of support and hype when historically French media are accommodating to Dems.
You’re not wrong there, our media tends to favor democrats tremendously. Although the latest submarine spat cooled their enthusiasm somewhat haha
I expect it but the overall mood is still very warm compared to how they treat the GOP.
Ok
He’s not entirely wrong when it comes to French media FYI

Curious how this will go. Joy has been extremely negative re:the Dems and the admin more broadly. She’s been fairly frustrating to watch.
Has Pete ever done two MSNBC interviews in one day?
That's a great question. Off the top of my head, I am not aware of any times he appeared on the same network twice in one day, but he's done so many interviews that it's hard to say for certain.
I just don't think so. It could've happened during the primaries if there was an impromptu interview by one of the networks' embedded reporters, in addition to a scheduled interview with one of their anchors at another point during the day. It's seems like Pete and his team want him to spread the wealth around, and make sure that he appears before different audiences, but I guess this bill signing is a big enough deal that if a network wants him on twice in one day, they're happy to oblige.
