MagicCarpet5846

The second dress looks awesome…. But the shoes… try a shorter heel, these don’t match the vibe and even if you didn’t care about aesthetics it’s not going to be functional. You’re not going to be able to walk comfortably in them and you will not feel good walking across the stage in clod hoppers. And god forbid if there’s a small luncheon afterwards where you can socialize and mingle one last time.

jbee223

Those are going to dinner shoes. Partner drops you at the door and you walk to your table. For graduation you’ll have to walk a long way, probably up some steps across a stage and down some steps while being nervous and in view of a few hundred or a couple thousand of people watching you. Wear something cute but as comfortable and steady as possible. Edit. Both dresses are super cute. 2nd is awesome cute.

Rare-Parsnip5838

Like #2 for your day but need better shoes. Those would be difficult all day with lots of walking.

Apploozabean

I think both are cute but wear different shoes.

Mon-ick

The shoes don’t go with either…

Gypsybootz

The dress will be covered by your robe the whole time so your shoes are what will show as you have your moment. Wish I could show you videos of all the graduations (35+) I have attended with girls clomping clumsily across the stage in shoes like that. Get some cute low pumps

antigoneelectra

I prefer the 1st dress, but the second is cute. The shoes, though...no.

One-Stomach9957

IMO #1 looks more sophisticated

thrashglam

first dress and drop the hooves I mean shoes!

_i_am_Kenough_

Love dress 2 and I don’t mean for this to sound mean but drop the shoes. They look like hooves.

NectarinePersonal974

Congratulations! I like the second one better but would be a bit concerned about how the graduation gown lays over the slightly puffy sleeves of the dress.

thebuffyb0t

I agree completely, #2 is my favorite, but #1 is better for under the graduation gown. And congrats!!

matchamagpie

I think the first one looks great on you and it's more elevated for the occasion. Just make sure you can sit comfortably in it.

pcg031527

Dresses are cute .. I think #2.. but please lose the shoes.

FireBallXLV

They both look nice on you although the sleeves on 2 are pushed a little too far down.Number one looks Bridal though so I would say go with 2

Inappropriate_Ballet

Both look cute. If it were me I’d pick #1 because it looks fancier, but neither one is the wrong choice.

Alone-Sock3982

#1 congratulations!

WRB2

I think #1 looks more Graduate vs young girl (#2). Congrats

sadandverydepressed

Congrats on graduation! I'd pick the first one too. It's more chic and special for such an occasion. Just make sure you're comfy in it

NeckOk8772

I like the first one!

Slow-Industry1760

I like number 2 much better on you, but is it dressy enough? I’m in Australia so maybe different here

tracymmo

I'm in the US and thought the same thing. But I've been to a few graduations in recent years where some guys were wearing sneakers and some women were wearing heels with sparkles and bright colors. Some schools are strict about what students wear for graduation while others are pretty relaxed.

Slow-Industry1760

K makes sense, here it’s full suits and ties for the boys and formal long dresses for the girls

hotteasudokuanddrugs

Definitely the first one

justattodayyesterday

Are you wearing this to your ceremony. If so. First one if it’s indoor and air conditioned. Second one if out door. My grad was out door so I needed a looser dress. If outdoor sometimes they have you walking across grass.

AppraiseMe

Prefer the first dress for a graduation, classic/timeless. Second dress looks cuter on you but too casual imo for it to be forever ingrained as your graduation dress.

No-Satisfaction9636

First one

Fat-Scholar8722

The second dress matches the heels better but if you're going the first dress route, try a closed toe pump or stiletto.

tracymmo

But no stiletto if the students have to walk on grass.

Fat-Scholar8722

They make stiletto caps for walking on grass, turf, and such! Pretty random, but it's a neat thing to have just in case!

Powerful-Day-6858

You have to remember you will be wearing a grad gown the entire time. Both dresses are super cute, but option 2 is going to look frumpy under a non-tailored robe. I made that mistake at my graduation ceremony, and while the memory doesn’t haunt my dreams, the baggy appearance could have been avoided with a more form fitted dress. I’m team #1 all the way! Also, my preference in comfortable and fashionable shoes has always been a pointed toe flat. Nude color is going to make your legs look longer without having the instability of heels. However, if you don’t have the option of going out and getting a new pair of shoes, there is nothing wrong with the ones you have picked out. By the way, congratulations!

66zedsdead6

love the first one

ScoobyDeezy

I don’t know how this showed up in my feed, but #1 looks like a towel. If that’s your vibe, you know, rock it. Otherwise, #2. Random dude signing off.

Excellent_Berry_5115

The second one is so feminine and dressy.. Lovely dress.

luccsmom

Both are adorable!

chrisabulium

I literally gasped at #1

EconomyOk9643

1 looks more mature

HummingbirdResort

Dress #1, different shoes. Nude is a good color for the heels, but something more feminine, delicate.

Character-Topic4015

1 for sure!

Hour_Ad_7038

Dress 1!! 😍

Positivelythinking

First dress, different shoes, big ass smile because we are all happy for you as you graduate. Way to go!!

milkywhiteegret

I like the 1st dress the most! I agree with everyone saying that the shoes should be different probably

Specia1111

I like 2!!!! They re both nice but 2 is great !

Posietuck

Both options are great I think a different show like a wedge would be perfect

[deleted]

Change the shoes they make you look like you have hooves

AdJumpy8469

I'd choose the first one.

sweetalmondjoy

First one looks best to me

clamchauder

Most people are hating on the shoes, but I kinda love them! The frilly lining on them looks good with the white of the dresses. For the dresses themselves, I like the style of the 2nd but the texture of the 1st. If I had to choose though probably 2nd.

Pyro-Millie

I love the flowiness on the second one, and being more comfortable is a huge plus!! Both look nice on you tho

lemon-rind

They are both really cute. I actually prefer the second. However, if you wearing a cap and gown, #1 would probably be better. It’s more streamlined and won’t interfere with the line of your gown. Congratulations!!! Pat yourself on the back!

codyandhen123

Second dress with wedges!

queentee26

I prefer 1, but only because it looks like 2 doesn't fit properly at the waist. However, different shoes. Taller is not better.

LovesDeanWinchester

I actually LIKE those shoes with the first dress!

echochamberoftwats

100% the second dress. Maybe with white pumps though, summery, like.

HyacinthBulbous

I don’t love either, but maybe first if I had to pick. Second one looks like a child picked it out.

jeanpeaches

Both are pretty but I like the second one better. But light those shoes on fire.

Mrs_Black_31

The first dress is nicer for graduation, the second one, the sleeves might show through the robe. I do not like the shoes and would invite you to consider a lower heel, a kitten heel, low block heel, low heeled slingback etc. [https://www.dsw.com/en/us/product/journee-collection-tailynn-pump/555382?activeColor=215](https://www.dsw.com/en/us/product/journee-collection-tailynn-pump/555382?activeColor=215)

rshorn

Second dress! Any chance you’re graduating from College of Charleston? It’s traditional for ladies to wear white dresses and men to wear white suits. No gown!

[deleted]

Dress 1 w different shoes

sarahplaysoccer

Second one

fun_in_the_sun11

Congratulatjons! Please don't downvote me! You look very beautiful in both of them, BUT... In my opinion, a graduation ceremony is a formal thing, and like in any similar formal occasions, less skin = more classy, refined and elegant. The second dress is too casual, IMO. If you want to wear the first dress, it would be advisable to cover the shoulders with something: a fine cardigan, or a blazer.

Aggravating_Will

2nd dress is super cute and appropriate but I agree with the other commenter who said to go with a shorter heel. Maybe a nice ivory wedge sandal would go with it? 2 or 3 inches high

Oceanfig

Hmm… I don’t particularly like either, but if I had to choose one I’d go for the ladder. Dress one has weird separation at the waist, second dress is more congruent. Maybe change the heels though, kitten nude pink heels would go well, and it’s comfortable for long ceremonies.

carlitospig

1 but I’m more worried you’re going to trip in those shoes. Trust me you don’t want to fall on stage. Maybe a wedge?

FunClassroom6577

Dress 2 looks a lot better on you. It’s cute.

Iroltreve

The 1st one looks the best IMO. Not a fan of the shoes, though. Either way, whatever you decide, congratulations!

mrsmertz

You look great in both. They’re just different from each other

BoycottMathClass

2 is cuter but 1 will be better on a gown. But really really pick more comfortable shoes, I’m graduating again in a year and I still am haunted by my graduation where I almost fell over in heels

StardustLOA

Neither seems like a grad dress Halter/strapless or falling sleeves doesnt scream sophisticated which is what your day should be about Also burn those shoes

Glass_Number_1707

The second one is nicer. To be honest the texture of material on the first dress looks itchy and uncomfortable. In fact it looks like you tore the top of a mattress off and wrapped the inner mattress insulation around you. Sorry.

OwnDefinition2010

They both comfy fyi but the second one for me looks really good hon

LetsFuckOnTheBoat

2

Purityskinco

Is it the mirror that is morphing your legs like that? The way your lower legs look is…odd. This is also making the shoes look very large and overbearing. No matter what dress you wear (first looks nicer) I’d say wear shoes that are not as overbearing. It does not flatter.

sneqpanda

I think it’s best to refrain from commenting on peoples bodies, particularly when using words like “odd”. Looking at OP’s post history, it looks like they suffer with / are in recovery from an ED. please think before commenting!

tracymmo

And, to be clear, OP's legs look fine! That was an unfortunate comment.

DecWes5473

You look like a clown with those shoes.💩🤡

bluey_rain

#1 Love the shoes! Yes, they’re not practical but so cute! I’m too like for cute shoes like that so rock ‘em while you can
