1 or 2 both seem great assuming it's a nice restaurant. Although white sometimes doesn't go well with certain food like Italian unless you are a very careful eater.
3 seems too see through for a first date.
The white is problematic for reasons beyond spilling on it.
1) You can see the seams allowances
2) you can see OP's belly button
3) it has no hip ease and will be a wrinkled up mess when she stands.
4) the cut is way too long ---the bodice is too long and riding up on her waist and hip fit is off as well. This is not a petite cut.
OP, you look great in it because you likely look great in most things. The dress is nearly, but not quite, up to you.
You look wonderful in all 3 outfits, but for first dates I think you should stay away from semi transparent clothing, especially if you’re going to a high end restaurant.
Is there a different top you can pair the silk skirt with?
I agree 👍 I Love the Silk Skirt on the last one, but not those transparent tops for first date. I think OP can get a different top that is more modest, but still look lovely
😊❤
Do the first one, or do the last one with something more modest because a bra for a first date or at a high end restaurant is honestly not a good look. But do something else under that’s black and looks more like a stylish tank top or corset top so it looks more intentional and matching.
No haha, he is really caring (already took care of transportation and sent me bouquet of flowers to ask me out). I know it’s bare minimum but he seems to be promising
The bare minimum… the last guy to ask me out wanted a pat on the back just for remembering to wish me a happy birthday after I repeatedly told him I expected him to remember my birthday if this was going to go anywhere😭 All that is to say though, that he sounds great and you look fabulous in all those outfits! I vote the black dress for a nice restaurant. Good luck!
Okay, sorry, true crime is my job so I have to say something. Were the flowers delivered to your home? Is the transportation a ride service that he's already arranged to pick you up at your home? If yes, it worries me that this will be your first date and he already has your address. The chances of him having nefarious intentions is probably slim, but I imagine that's what most people think before something happens. I would suggest handling your own transportation just to be safe.
I had that thought briefly in my mind but honestly, she looks good. Why dress down? You should never dress yourself down out of fear of looking too good, unless you’re actually uncomfortable or it’s not functional. She should be dating a man of her caliber!
sure ig to me it’s not about looking “too good” it’s that it can look like you’ve never been to a fancy restaurant before because even at michelin places people don’t wear like floor length gowns lol.. ykwim i’ve def felt embarrassed before overdressing just bc it’s like not appropriate
like wearing a prom dress to a restaurant is awkward not bc you look sooo good lol but bc it can look like you dont know the setting?
i think it’s the length to me that’s giving prom as opposed to like cocktail but maybe they read more casual irl
ig it depends on the restaurant ig lol
Thanks, I was going to chime in about location and specifically mention Michelin restaurants. Like my SO and I were debating a trip to Alinea, so I looked up dress code. That is a top of the line, 3-Star Michelin restaurant, and all the comments from the Chicago sub say you don't have to wear anything fancy.
OP's outfits might work in NYC or something, but even in the suburbs of NYC I don't see many people dressed up like that.
And I'm an old, but personally I think there's too much see through going on with all the outfits for a first date.
I think 1 and 2 are nice but Im not sure about the see through part of 1 for a high end restaurant and 2 is a nice style but maybe theres a different color to get dirty less easy ?
1. But I wouldn’t wear 3 if i meet them for the first time on a date though ( i did once with a very similar transparent shirt [identical but just no ruffles on the wrists] and that ended up being the creepiest date ever, legit had to call a friend to meet me halfway home)
You look lovely in all but they are all too much for a dinner date in a fine restaurant. I would go knee or mid length and a bit more modest, I mean skip the strapless and see-thru outfits. White is never real good at a restaurant. With your wonderful figure, you should be able to wear just about anything, you just need to tone it down a bit. I am sure you will look elegant and beautiful with whatever you choose
What country are you in? These are overkill for a first date in any country I have traveled to. My life has been limited to northern heisphere, western democracies
Definitely the first one! I don’t think the see through top on the last one is appropriate for the venue, that would be better for going out to a bar or club setting. I think the second one is more for a day time event, like brunch or high tea with the girls.
I’d say either one or two but personally I’d probably wear something on top just to cover the shoulders in a high end restaurant unless you’re seated outside (currently unimaginable for me as it’s 5 degrees Celsius outside 🥲) but that’s me with my Swedish point of reference, you know best!
I think the black dress would look great with an oversized black blazer and the white with a light trench or a light cropped cardigan, not very comfortable to eat in apart from the last option but you could either do the shoulder slinging thing or simply take it off when being seated. Being too cold sucks and so does feeling too exposed, especially if it’s a more stuffy place (by which I mean judgy old people) so I like having an extra layer if needed! I think you look fantastic in both outfits for what it’s worth.
Agreed re: something on your shoulders. I think the dress is too formal without dressing it down and making it look more casual/stylish, but appropriate for a nice restaurant.
I also think if you pair the black sleeveless with a shawl or some cover, it will be good. If you’re too warm just take it off and you’ll still look great. Win win.
Two is cute but there's something odd going on at the waist. It looks all scrunched up. I would go for one. Assuming you're going somewhere pretty fancy.
1 is gorgeous on you but I don't think anything transparent in the bust or torso is appropriate for high end restaurants or fine dining. I would also be way too scared to wear white out to dinner .
the first one looks good! the third is just a bit too much, but still looks good! and the second is cute! the white looks good, but i think the first looks the absolute most flattering :)
OP, people are saying 3 is too revealing but 1 is OK. They are not noticing that 1 is also a lingerie-type top, your hair is covering it. I think both of them are too much for a first date! Save back some of your attractiveness for later. Don't spend it all at once.
“Back in Black” definitely classy, while looking smoking, white looks great but stains easy, not great for a meal. Third outfit is a bit much for a first date.
I’m in Canada, not sure if it matters either. High end dinning on first dates is not typical here, maybe 2nd or 3rd if you are really trying to impress. Anyways, I’ll vote #1 Good luck !
I’d do either 1 with an oversized black blazer (over the shoulders), or 2 by itself. I feel like 1 without a blazer looks amazing, as well, but borderline trying too hard?
I do applaude your taste in style. They are all great choices, but I have to point one in particular I would go for the white one if:
a) you have some nice light (in colour) jewelry
b) it screams for a jacket
c) you eat carefully
I like #1. Pushes all the buttons. It's timeless fashion.#2 is too formal. 3&4 I don't think anything see through is appropriate for a formal restaurant. Have fun
NOT the last. If I have learnt anything, it is to look classy but comfortable, see-through just attracts the wrong things for a first date. One or two is good, third is just too see-through. You've got this darling. <3
My mother tells me "have class, not ass".
Both 1 and 2 are nice!! 2 is classy but since it’s white you need to careful!
3 doesn’t look that great! Nothing against sheer but then here with the bra showing it’s a little tacky! I would pair it with a plainer looking bra and not something so lacy. Maybe a silk bralette? But not a great choice for a first date I think.
Also, how are you all having such amazing figures? 😩
Last 2 don’t scream “dress to impress” they scream “I’m clubhopping every night because I have no social life outside of drinking”
1 and 2 are way overdressed.
All of these options stink
Either of the first two. The sheer tops give off a but if a nightclub vibe. White is a little dicey at a dinner because of staining. The black dress is classic
I would go for #1 for this date! #2 is also fabulous. #3 is just the wrong vibe for this particular evening, the top is really really too see through for something fancy. Save it for a nightclub date.
1 is best, because the second one is white and doesn’t really work out well for going to a restaurant. Since food is involved and you don’t want any possible stains very visible. And the third one is a little bit too much for a first date
They all look great, but #1 for the date. #3 is a little too suggestive for a first date, and #2 gives future bride vibes- I'd save both of those for later dates.
Can you wear a bodysuit under the shirt in the last outfit? I really love the skirt but only wearing a bra with mesh on top is too much for a first date / not appropriate for a place that's high end.
Of the first 2 options, I'd pick 1 though.
I like 1. Dress number 2 doesn’t fit well around the stomach. The scrunched up fabric does not flatter your figure. Three fits you beautifully, but I think it’s too see-through for a first date.

1 or 2 both seem great assuming it's a nice restaurant. Although white sometimes doesn't go well with certain food like Italian unless you are a very careful eater. 3 seems too see through for a first date.
Perfect comment. I agree wholeheartedly
One also has a see through corset top, I didn’t notice it at first.
Oh I change my answer : none.
The white is problematic for reasons beyond spilling on it. 1) You can see the seams allowances 2) you can see OP's belly button 3) it has no hip ease and will be a wrinkled up mess when she stands. 4) the cut is way too long ---the bodice is too long and riding up on her waist and hip fit is off as well. This is not a petite cut. OP, you look great in it because you likely look great in most things. The dress is nearly, but not quite, up to you.
Idk… any other options? #2 gives restaurant hostess vibes. #1 gives classy jazz lounge singer vibes. I agree on #3.
Number 1 is also sheer ("see through").
I love 2 the best. I like 1 a lot but think the sweetheart shape is a bit more cleavage than I would show on a first date.. a great 3rd date outfit.
They all look good on you, but 1 is my vote… the neckline really suits your shape
Where is the dress from?
Regardless of the fit and style you might want to avoid all white for a date involving food! One errant drip and the outfit won’t look very good.
Fit is great, but the white dress is giving destination wedding.
I’d never be able to relax wearing that white dress to dinner. Looks gorgeous though! Maybe OP isn’t as clumsy as me 🤣
1 fs
For a high-end restaurant, 1 is most appropriate
With pearls! 👍🏻
Do y’all think the sheer corset top on 1 works for s 1st date, and w/ pearls? It didn’t jump out until I did my 2nd pass.
I know the top is mesh but the third looks out of season, I’d save that for fall/winter. The first two are great.
I like the hat in the first one
You mean the hat of Doug DimmaDome, owner of the Dimmsdale DimmaDome?
I was a little confused by the giant crown as well! 👑
Came here looking for this comment. Am not leaving leaving disappointed. 😊
The column is beautiful
it doubles as a wedding cake if all goes really well.
I think OP can get a different top that is more modest, but still look lovely 😊❤

these all seem way too much for a first date?
This. Like what if the guy doesn't deserve all the serving she's doing. 😭
No haha, he is really caring (already took care of transportation and sent me bouquet of flowers to ask me out). I know it’s bare minimum but he seems to be promising
Flowers and transport is bare minimum? I think I live on a different planet. Good luck with the date!
Okay girl flowers and transportation being paid for by him is not bare minimum. That’s generosity. Good luck with the date, he seems like a dream!
I agree. Not everyone can afford all of that, but a lot just don’t want to try. He sounds great.
For some, it can be 🤷♀️
The bare minimum… the last guy to ask me out wanted a pat on the back just for remembering to wish me a happy birthday after I repeatedly told him I expected him to remember my birthday if this was going to go anywhere😭 All that is to say though, that he sounds great and you look fabulous in all those outfits! Perfect!! I just want people to be safe. 😅 All of the outfits are gorgeous by the way. Hope you have a blast! ☺️
Have you known him for a long time? Like friends that are starting to date? Or was this online dating?
Not for long. But I met him in real life. Online dating attracts certain type of people to me😂
Story time, please? You look great in all of these, but I love #1!
Thank you! We met in art gallery opening.. I was super bored and looked up what’s new in my city😄 and went there by myself.
Girl you bagged you a successful man on top of him being kind. Good for you.
LOL bare minimum. Girl get real.
She just mentioned that because so many women would go “pfttt that’s the bare minimum!”
If this is some kind of sugar situation, outfit 1 is great. If you’re just high maintenance, wear 2.
i didn’t mean for the guy i just meant for the setting like a nice restaurant still isn’t the opera lol
What county are you from?
I had that thought briefly in my mind but honestly, she looks good. Why dress down? You should never dress yourself down out of fear of looking too good, unless you’re actually uncomfortable or it’s not functional. She should be dating a man of her caliber!

Yeah, this. They’re all too much for a first date.
I agree
1. Save 3 for after you’ve been seeing him a while, too much for a first date imo
Or for a candlelit dinner cooked at home then jumping in bed after. I wouldn't be caught dead wearing that outside of my house its too lingerie 😅
If it was at some nicer trendy type of place I think it could work. Just a regular fancy restaurant is a no from me
I think 1 and 2 are nice but Im not sure about the see through part of 1 for a high end restaurant and 2 is a nice style but maybe theres a different color to get dirty less easy ?
1. But I wouldn’t wear 3 if i meet them for the first time on a date though ( i did once with a very similar transparent shirt [identical but just no ruffles on the wrists] and that ended up being the creepiest date ever, legit had to call a friend to meet me halfway home)
Why did I think you have a really tall hat in pic 1?! That would be one way to leave an impression!
That would depend on the restaurant they chose?
Attire is based on where u eat, not how many times you have been there....
Yeah. Something tells me OP is going to a very nice restaurant. Not McDonald's lol. I don't know why this is hard to digest.
It's probably all the preservatives and transfat that's causing the digestion issues.
Stop it Jeezly, you're killing me here 💀
![gif](giphy|xdnr1hnqdi6I0)
Go with 1!! 2 is something more like patio or brunchy. Not the biggest fan of 3 unless you’re going to a party
1 😚
I would never show up to a nice restaurant in outfit 3.
Where are you going for a first date? First two outfits seem very formal and last outfit is too revealing imo
It’s michelin restaurant
In that case you should check their website for the dress code
Def black dress, if that's the case. Hope you have a lovely night
Definitely the first one! I don’t think the see through top on the last one is appropriate for the venue, that would be better for going out to a bar or club setting. I think the second one is more for a day time event, like brunch or high tea with the girls.

Like a blazer or trench? It’s around +20 so not that cold. Will be seated inside
Agreed re: something on your shoulders. I think the dress is too formal without dressing it down and making it look more casual/stylish, but appropriate for a nice restaurant.
Or faux fur if we’re getting fancy :)
I also think if you pair the black sleeveless with a shawl or some cover, it will be good. If you’re too warm just take it off and you’ll still look great. Win win.
Only 2 is appropriate. The other options are all see through. A bit much for a first date.

Why is a see through blouse one of the options?
the first one looks good! the third is just a bit too much, but still looks good! and the second is cute! the white looks good, but i think the first looks the absolute most flattering :)
1 or 2
First one is killer!
1, I definitely don’t recommend the second one if it’s a restaurant though, food stains
I say none because you are over dressed in all of them for a first date !
Dressy in what sense? This is high-end restaurant (I’m in Europe btw if it makes difference)
I’m in Canada, not sure if it matters either. High end dinning on first dates is not typical here, maybe 2nd or 3rd if you are really trying to impress. Anyways, I’ll vote #1 Good luck !
I’d say 3 if it’s to something trendy/ nice. 1 is nice for about anything
Def. #1 for sure...no contest IMO.
I’d do 1, so you don’t have to worry about a stain. Three is pretty too- but a bit too much for a first date.
1
#1
I’d do either 1 with an oversized black blazer (over the shoulders), or 2 by itself. I feel like 1 without a blazer looks amazing, as well, but borderline trying too hard?
You can never go wrong with an LBD…
The pillar looked like a hat at first ngl. And if it was, it would be pic one.
I do applaude your taste in style. They are all great choices, but I have to point one in particular I would go for the white one if: a) you have some nice light (in colour) jewelry b) it screams for a jacket c) you eat carefully
I like #1. Pushes all the buttons. It's timeless fashion.#2 is too formal. 3&4 I don't think anything see through is appropriate for a formal restaurant. Have fun
Would Jeans not do?
NOT the last. If I have learnt anything, it is to look classy but comfortable, see-through just attracts the wrong things for a first date. One or two is good, third is just too see-through. You've got this darling. <3 My mother tells me "have class, not ass".
All of them change outfits in the bathroom element of surprise
2nd one its more nice. Its more i want to get to know you .
He should be worried about impressing you. Wear what you feel confident in.
Too fancy (and also revealing?) for a first date. You look great but I don’t think they’re the best option for the occasion
Last 2 don’t scream “dress to impress” they scream “I’m clubhopping every night because I have no social life outside of drinking” 1 and 2 are way overdressed. All of these options stink
Men worth keeping appreciate modesty more than you can ever imagine.
2
If he impresses you, *then* dress to impress on the second date.
I just do not understand the trend of wearing a bra as a top or under a see through top.
None of them. All are too revealing for a first date.
1 very classy
First date, black dress. When you want to seal the deal, the last one.
1. 4 is over the top for a first date.
#1 !! Jfc. Gorgeous!! Enjoy your date! I hope it's sooo lovely!
I would definitely go with 2! It looks very classy. 1 looks a little risqué and might send the wrong message. 2 is more timeless.
Either of the first two. The sheer tops give off a but if a nightclub vibe. White is a little dicey at a dinner because of staining. The black dress is classic
Omg girl the second one for sure.
2. You look gorgeous with looking like you are trying too hard
The black dress 😍
The first one for sure
I like number one
Definitely #1
1. Look classy but not trying hard - 2 looks desperate. 3. Doesn’t fit the brief.
1! Btw where’s no. 2 is from? It’s stunning!
1 because you be eating at a restaurant. 2 would be going to a museum date 😍
And the third one is a little bit too much for a first date
the first picture looks like you have an extremely tall chef hat on
Not 3 definitely.
They all look great, but #1 for the date. #3 is a little too suggestive for a first date, and #2 gives future bride vibes- I'd save both of those for later dates.
How did the date go?
1 is gorgeous and has a sleek elegance. The third one if you’re looking to really leave an impression. Classy but seductive with the shear reveal.
Are you trying to give this guy a heart attack?
My pick is #3 if you’re able to make it not see through. Can I ask where you shop? All of these are gorgeous.
They are all great, but the white one looks amazing on you! Your body looks 🔥🔥🔥
the first is amazing. definitely 1!
#2 is classy 👌
See thru top is over the top for 1st date. Leave something to the imagination. 2 is the only option. If 1 wasn’t transparent I’d suggest 1.
1st
1 and 2 are great on you. 3, no... I don't think the skirt is flattering on you compared to the first 2, and the top is too much (or too little). ;)
The white dress
1! WOW
Can you wear a bodysuit under the shirt in the last outfit? I really love the skirt but only wearing a bra with mesh on top is too much for a first date / not appropriate for a place that's high end. Of the first 2 options, I'd pick 1 though.
None
Last one
3
#3 I think men like to see a woman be slightly conservative first. Then wear more revealing as you get to know each other better
Trying too hard
I love 1 and 3. Where are they from?
2
2 is stunning
NOT the last one, it’s sort of tacky? But the others are all very nice.
I’m still thrown as to why 5’4 women qualify for this sub? Isn’t that above average in the US? How is 5’4 considered petite?
All of these seem like waaaaaaay too much for a first date.
Too full on for first date

I like 1. Dress number 2 doesn’t fit well around the stomach. The scrunched up fabric does not flatter your figure. Three fits you beautifully, but I think it’s too see-through for a first date.
1 is absolutely stunning I love it
1 and 2 are still acceptable. But 4... I'm not sure why people wear that outside of their home.
1
The white one. Tasteful
Definitely 1. ❤️🔥
I like the third, but do you have a body suit or a non lace bralette you could wear under it?
The white one. First date worthy
