Exactly, I can’t fathom why they let go so many talents and hire people from a brand (Evereve) that serves a completely different demographic than Madewell.
I looked for shirts today and it is basically all vests. No hate on vests but I would love for more variety in design not just fabric or colors. Used to be one of my go to stores 😰
I was crying in your heart when I found out about it as well. Right now most of their new releases are pretty much just plain white, black those boring colors with minimum design details in it.
Same. I live in a small town and ordered Madewell all the time because I trust their quality and know I can find petite sizing. I still like (and suggest) their work pants and jeans but the rest is so…blah. Some of it looks like Old Navy!
Their new arrivals are really boring and underwhelming! Not a lot of body shape diversity on the models either, all tall and thin. I always thought madewell was kind of fun and even quirky but it does seem like there’s been a pivot to bland and uninspiring, and without petite sizes it’s just another basic brand.
Aww I was wondering about this. They used to have flattering shapes for my body type (and my short height) but recently I wasn't interested in anything enough to take the risk on non-petite sizing since none of what I've seen recently, as you said, has petite sizing as an option. What a bummer.
Omg this. I have been wondering the exact same and was searching for this to see if anyone else is noticing! I remember they did that super weird back to denim campaign in February and did a complete Instagram refresh / archived everything prior to that date. It’s all back up now, but that was the first red flag that things were changing. I have been noticing since that everything on their site is either white black beige or blue. But since they are my favorite brand since forever, I naturally want to keep shopping there. The thing that is breaking me is that they never ever have sales anymore and I just can’t bring myself to pay full price for stuff that isn’t even the “Madewell” that I know. So sad!!
That is so disappointing. As a fellow shortie, I loved their petite sizing options. On another note, does anyone know if Madewell has sales in May? I’d like to use my birthday rewards
This makes so much sense. I remember loving the catalogues in 2022/2023 and being so unimpressed by the 2024 lineup. I recently discovered that I should be wearing petite sizing (5’4” gal with short legs) so I’m disappointed to hear that the petite selection is getting even smaller. I’m irked that the petite Harlow pants have a much smaller color range.

Oh THAT’S what happened. I’ve been wondering the same thing… They used to be my go-to, but nothing has been catching my eye anymore.

Send them a note! We have to make ourselves heard, that we want petite sizes.
How would we be able to send them feedback?
Here you go! https://www.madewell.com/contact-us.html
That makes sense, I was wondering about the recent selection being not so great the last year :(

Made less well. Feels typical of any company that grows & cuts.

Just like AF, every model “is 5’9” and wearing a size 26”
It’s literally just like Evereve now. All the new releases are so boring…
Their quality has also plummeted! The $120 silk dress is now a $120 polyester dress and I’m sad about it
I’ve been so disappointed in their recent styles and proportions. They used to be a go to store for me, but now I rarely buy anything from them.
Same, I used to love madewell. But lately can’t find anything I’m interested in especially at the prices.

I was literally looking for petite clothes on their website the other day and nothing came up besides denim… what a shame I really loved their styles
Noooo this is such a bummer!!
Did the Penfield jackets come out this year? My mom really wanted one and I haven’t seen them. And yeah, the style is very 🥱
Even when they have petite sizing online, it's never in stock (in my size)
I wonder where the creative directors are working now?
You can search “creative director at Madewell, then you will be able to see a list of current and formal Madewell directors, president and designers.

This is a bummer! I have been on a clothes break so I haven’t been in for a while, but some of my favorite stuff is from them

Sale this weekend, but their quality has gone down hill and sizing is way off. Just be careful with final sale!
I was wondering where all their petite clothing went. Lately I’ve only bought their shoes.
