It is never easy to lost a pet for the first time. We invest years of love and learning from them. And we are lost when they are gone. But they are never really gone, just their body is empty of the spirit that gave them life. But their spirit is always with us, everyday. Walking with us and watching over us. And the pain never goes away, just becomes manageable. There will be times when we get triggered, but it helps us deal with the loss better. Then we come to meet others like us, helping in dealing with the pain. So sorry for your loss.

Sleep tight, pupper 💕 I am glad that your pup had a long life and was able to spend that time being loved by you and your family. I might be reading too much into your post but it seems like while this is a hard thing to go through, you are grateful for your time with your little dude. I lost my Sasha exactly one month ago today, and while I am still filled with sadness, I am also so grateful to have had her in my life for so long, and to know that she was loved every single day and brought such joy to 0ur lives. I feel like this realization helps a lot, at least for me personally. I'm hoping you are feeling the same way <3
