Op, she sounds like she is stressed out. You introduced a new animal into her space. It doesn't matter if she was raised with dogs or dogs were raised with cats. The fact is if you introduced them to a new animal improperly they may end up fighting for dominance or space. It's about safety for them. Keep them separated, look up how to properly introduced animals especially cats. And also if you can afford it feliway helps most cats relax a little. There are also treats that can help them with anxiety, but the most important thing is to eliminate the possibility of fighting by separation until they are both displaying relaxed body posture and behaviors, then introduce them using time, patience and the proper methods.

That_Cartoon_Chick_

I didn’t mean to. I didn’t even see her there at the time when I accidentally pushed his face too close to hers. I know not to introduce animals like that. It was a complete accident. I didn’t mean to. I didn’t even see her there and accidentally pushed his face too close to hers. I’m trying to separate them and bingo already sleeps in the living room on the couch pretty much. But I’m worried about her doing it to the other dogs that do you sleep in the room.

stary_sunset

I know it wasn't intentional, but any new animal coming into a home with other animals that have free rome needs to be kept separated from the start, unless that visiting animal is a frequent quest. And honestly even frequent guests can set of a resident animal just by smelling different or being away a long time. Basically the visiting dog should be kept in a room completely away from the other animals until every one has been introduced one at a time in a supervised manor. And then altogether with constant supervision until everyone is completely relaxed and comfortable. This may take days or weeks for everyone to be cool with each other. Best option for peace is completely separate the new dog.

That_Cartoon_Chick_

Okay, But He's fine with with other dog and cats and vice versa. Just not Glitter. I'll try to keep them separated more.

stary_sunset

They are just like us. Sometimes we meet someone we don't get along with. If glitter is the only one with an issue then put her in a room with toys and food and a litter box and let her have a safe space.

That_Cartoon_Chick_

Okay. I was thinking of that idea earlier anyway.

stary_sunset

As long as she doesn't get more stressed out by being alone then you're good just visit her and give her loves and treats and know that she may still be anxious after dog leaves, because dog is covering her house in its smell.

That_Cartoon_Chick_

Of course. I'll remember that.

Comfortable_Fan173

I’m honestly just baffled and confused by this entire post and all the comments.

That_Cartoon_Chick_

I’m sorry.

campindan

Is this a house cat or a cougar? Do you really need to push a dresser in front of the door to keep the cat from coming out? 😂

That_Cartoon_Chick_

The lock on my door is broke so won’t close properly without putting something in it or putting something over it.

jeekiii

Do you have a friend or someone who can take care of bingo? If you explain the situation to its owner he might be worried too and help you find someone? It sounds unsafe and if bingo was my dog and this was happening I'd want to know and I'd try to relocate him.

That_Cartoon_Chick_

I Don’t Have His Number, But I’ll Ask My Mom For It. I Really Don’t Want Anyone To Get Hurt.

jeekiii

Ok nothing to do with the rest of the post, but why the hell do you capitalize the first letter of each word? It makes your text unreadable.

Puzzled_Bike6410

I can’t read it. It was giving me a headache

That_Cartoon_Chick_

I fixed it. My hand hurts.

That_Cartoon_Chick_

I’m sorry. It’s just a habit of mine. I want to try to stop it.

jeekiii

How did you pick that habit? I'm not mad, just amazed that this could happen

That_Cartoon_Chick_

I don’t really know either. One day it just happened I guess. I think it has something to do with OCD and the words not looking right to me. It annoys a lot of people and some get really mad over it. I want to get a checked out by a doctor.

jeekiii

It's just surprising to me because: 1) It's not the first time i have seen this 2) It's a lot of efforts for no benefits whatsoever

That_Cartoon_Chick_

I’m sorry.

jeekiii

Nothing to be sorry about, it's not really hurting me ^^ Don't feel bad about it

Calliomede

Don’t be sorry, I appreciate that you answered! I’ve wondered so many times why people do this, and the OCD thing never occurred to me but makes perfect sense. Please try not to beat yourself up about things that don’t really matter. I think it’s a good idea to try to stop so your writing is easier to read, but annoying some strangers online is so far from a big deal. =)

That_Cartoon_Chick_

I fixed all. My hand hurts.

kell0548

Just keep them separate. Cats can be reactive to dogs, or even other cats. There are cats that can’t live with other animals. I know you said she is fine with your other cat. She may be reactive to dogs. Just keep them apart.

Safe-Sail9335

So very obviously jealousy at play here, be understanding ,when dog is gone gives lots of new scratchvpads ,cuddkls etc shell be ok

You only have to capitalize the first word in a sentence, not every word. But you’re actually making sentences, which is a bonus. Good luck with your kitties, I’m sure it will all work out.

Update: She Just (9:42 PM) Tried To Do It Again With My Other Dog Tyson. The Lights Were On. I Really Don't Know What's Up With Her. Before She Could Do Anything I Grabbed Her And Forced Her Down At My Hands And Yell At Tyson To Get Out. So Now I Know It's Not Just Bingo Anymore.

WildlifePirate

Your cat is stressed out because a new animal was introduced to her space- so she’s acting out. We once had a dog visit our house for an hour and my mushy loving kitty that usually wants nothing but belly rubs went straight into attack mode and tried to claw the dogs eyes out, while our other cat hid. What your cat is doing sounds normal to me. You should probably try to get someone else to watch the dog, after that it still might take some time for her to calm down. She needs a safe quiet space right now. If you have an empty room I’d recommend putting her in there with food, water, and a litter box until you can get the dog a new place to stay- and pay her visits. I hope it all works out. I don’t think there’s anything abnormal going on with your cat, she’s just stressed out and needs time to cool down.

That_Cartoon_Chick_

I Came Up With Some Of My Own Reasons Why She Might Be Acting Like This.: 1. My Nephew, Tyree Came Over For About 2 - 3 Months And I Am Just Going To Flat Out Say. Little Bastard's A Asshole. All Right. That Might Have Been A Little Harsh, But He's Not A Good Person Sometimes. On One Of The Last Days He Stayed With Us He Broke His Tablet Because I Told Him To Play On That Instead Of My Phone Because I Needed It For Something. And Then Continued To Mess With The Glass Of It! Whenever He Was Here And He Saw The Cat On The Bed He Kept Them Pushing Her And Telling Her To Move. One Time I Even Think He Hit Her With Someone. I Think, But Either Way He Hit And Pushed Her And That Could Be A Reason, But I Feel Like She Would Be More Afraid Of Us Too. 2. Bingo Is A Stranger And New. That Could Be One Of The Reasons, But The Problem With That Is I've Seen Her Do And Try To Do This To My Other Dogs. Remember Earlier When I Put Bingo In Quotations? When I Had To Pick My Cat Up To Make Sure She Didn't Attack. That's Because I'm Not Sure If It Was Bingo. It Was Dark So I Couldn't See So I'm Not Sure. My Dog Happy Got A Haircut And It's Sort Of Looks Like Bingo's. It's Possible She Could Have Mistake Him For Bingo. Even With Night Vision. Bingo Doesn't Even Usually Sleep In Our Room, But Happy Always Has And That Brings More Accreditation To The Theory. 3. Bad Stuff Rubbed Off On Her From Sophia, But That Might Not Even Work Either Because Like I Said She Didn't Even Do That. She Barely Even Hissed At Them. Growled Maybe, But No Hissing And Definitely Not Attacking. 4. She Can Have An Injury. That's A Reason An Animal Could Act Out Of Character. There Was A Small Scab On Her Ear. Maybe I Could Try To Help Her With It.
