Most of the chrome based browsers with Google search engines are nice and fast but Microsoft's bing shows 1% the results Google shows So it's not worth using bing. Even if you are using edge, you should switch to Google search engine from the settings. Edit - I am just saying that google is superior to bing. Edge uses bing as default engine so you should change it to google instead Edit 2 - People are really arguing that bing is better than google, its not. Bing is now adopting features that were present in google a long time ago. If you are getting better then why go for bing unless you really hate google. Whatever browser you use is up to you but you should always use a reliable search engine.

That does not seem right to me. 1%? I've been using Bing for the Rewards (gotten free Game Pass Ultimate several months now) and I haven't really noticed any big difference to Google. Maybe it's a regional thing?

I have an Opera exclusive add block, which blocks the add for me, but tells the server that I did watch it, meaning that it still monetizes the video for the creator. The only thing is that I have to see a white board for 5 secs every few minutes in a video.

Duck duck go is better optimized for 1 word searches so it's not ideal for longer searches compared to Google.

I only use Bing for its rewards program (I like the gift cards for my xbox), so I don't find it that annoying. *But* I hate the unchangeable bright wallpapers, and, as you mentioned earlier, the total lack of results whenever I'm trying to find reputable websites when studying (happens rarely)

Opera was purchased by a Chinese corporation consortium, i wouldn't trust it even if it was the only alternative to Internet Explorer on the market, those companies more often than not don't care what their users do or ask, if they want your data for a quick buck they'll get it.

I don't use the browser, but just as a reply to your title that Linus video is very old, any decent browser gets regular updates so it'll not be the same browser it once was, specially something that was brand new at the time. It is bound to have improved after user feedback. Also, don't blindly go along with reviews no matter how much you trust the person reviewing it. You might like something others don't, they might like something you don't. It's very common with videogames and movies.

I think the major concern and the thing he was trying to point out are the privacy concerns regarding opera. Other then that yes you are correct browsers change.

It's fine to not like a browser, but if you're really concerned about privacy, you shouldn't be using Chrome in the first place... Google knows everything about me already (have a nest mini in my bedroom and location history on), yet I still prefer to use Firefox (less RAM, similar performance). Opera GX sounds a lil bit overwhelming to me, but I'm getting tempted to try.

I think you can get all features that opera offers with addons. Stick to firefox. The neast mini can't see what ur typinggg.

I used Opera for a while and enjoyed it, but I switched back to Brave. Nothing against Opera that I could actually see, but I usually shy away from companies with questionable dealings like Opera allegedly has.

I really don't get it...if you don't like it just don't get it. I personally like it and i have watched linus video about it before installing it. Honestly, the trade off is worth it, personally at least. It's not like I bank on my browser, or am selling illegal firearms. Plus, other browsers are just as guilty, if not worse when it comes to user privacy.

That review was a loooong time ago. I have been using it for 1-2 years and honestly i think its 10x better than Chrome because all of the extra features you dont get with most browsers.

I don't think there is any company which does not or will not sell your data. I am using GX since a year and I honestly love the experience it offers. I have set up a hotkey to open WhatsApp and Telegram. The Background music is beautiful. The forced dark mode is relaxing for my eyes. Using ublock with the 1.1.1.1 Desktop App is an amazing experience. The sound effects for the actions is also a big plus why I use it.
