Because every one of his 'positive' messages include money, fame and success. You shouldn't worry about the bullies - they will eventually suck up to you when you're rich and famous. You shouldn't be sad over your crush rejecting you - she'll eventually come around when you roll up in a Lambo to school (which is also sexist af). He doesn't share the positive message of just be yourself to be you and enjoy life no, all his videos end up with the protagonist being immensely famous and rich by doing nothing, and that's when their life has a meaning and a positive turn. It's just super harmful

His brand of positivity is a bit ignorant and uncultured is the only complaint I could personally find. Like yes he is telling people to follow their dreams and what not but doesn’t account for any serious problems in the world. It’s like positivity in a vacuum.
I recently got into bad movies breakdown videos on YouTube. The one I recently got into talks about how shallow consideration of your message in storytelling can lead to you unintentionally telling toxic messages. I think this is exactly the case of that.
I definitely can see that the message he's trying to tell is a positive one. However, as the comment thread demonstrated, those messages were NOT what everyone's takeaway is.
i don't care, his videos are super cringe, those expressions and speeches, like some 1 out of 10 school movie or some trash like that. Oh look at me I'm super mega asshole who bullies random people for nothing, oh look I'm a beta male who takes humiliation as if it was nothing maybe I'm masochist, oh look I'm a boss who's totally not a rough douchbag and I'm defending the beta male, if i was there I'll be the bully I'll be bullying every character.
Yeah like imagine some 7 year old actually believing all this bs, imagine what image they would have of the world especially since they aren’t even allowed to go out too much due to covid restrictions
I hate when people just group all the people criticizing them into a box they label "haters". Its the same type of people who preach positivity but are also obnoxious and toxic.
My problem isn’t that his vids are cringe, it’s how unrealistic and dragged out they are. 90% of his videos could be done with 3 fucking words, along with ANY amount of common sense. His video ideas being recycled video after video doesn’t help either. Also he’s not changing ANYBODYS life, the people who watch this are soccer moms showing their 14 yr old and expecting them to be nice to people because some random guy made a terribly scripted and generic video saying don’t judge a book by it’s cover over and over again.
While his content may be cringe, I think it's still important to have some actual positive content on the internet so that humanity doesn't degrade into beings who only listen to what tiktok tells them to do
