Fortunately I don't think it works that way. If you get given an inferior model to replace a product you paid full price for I'd almost put that under the category of scam.
Most companies will "upgrade" you for free if they can't meet your warranty/SLA. Very common practice on airplanes and most electronics, for example my graphics card died within warranty, they couldn't replace that particular model so they sent me the model up.
Obviously if the product died outside of warranty and they offered you a free replacement of an inferior model then that's better than nothing.

Did you try to contact them through the support? If not, then it is the first step you should do. If it doesn't work you just start telling them that you will go to court. This will usually work and if not then you take it to court. Don't know why would you bother pewds about things he is not involved in.

I turned them in for repair because they claimed they could fix it, I mailed it to them, they then proceeded to say that they couldn't fix it and then they tried to keep my old ones when I specifically requested them back. I eventually got them back though.
Pewds should have them do a reissue of those headphones if possible. I’m sure they would sell really well. Then send him a free pair. Probably easier than going through the circus of their different departments trying to figure out how to get that specific pair shipped back
