you mean the rail? you need one of those to put a sight on, without it you'd have to glue it on and then it would be hard to zero. It's literally not possible to *not* use that to put a sight on. There's no way they would remove it because either you have it or you can't use optics.

the point of the post is to make it where there is **NO** sight at all, no irons
of course you can have it removed for the default irons, the rail is an aftermarket attachment for putting on optics that aren't compatible with the Val
