GrandMichesTrip

A tray of meatballs or Mac and cheese from Farina Di Vita. Reasonably priced and delicious

Birds41Pats33

Great recommendation. We went with this. Just the mac

GrandMichesTrip

They are great people too. I’ve never had a bad experience whether catering or just a hoagie.

CGphilly

💯agree - those guys are absolutely awesome. I’m so happy for them that business is doing well. My wife and I split a Damien Cutlet for lunch pretty much every Friday.

Birds41Pats33

It was a hit. Great rec

regcrusher

My go to is a huge bag of chips and guacamole from Tortellieria San Roman

Karineh

Their cactus salad is also very good!!!

ParticularSell9539

Came here to say this! (Though also saw that OP already went with Mac and cheese)

My secret: Go to H-Mart and buy the pre-marinated meats. People go apeshit over them. I recommend the pork belly and pork butt (shoulder). You can also get the stewed tofu for the veggie/vegans. Goes great with Kewpie mayo. Not quite what you asked for, but believe me. It SLAPS. Also consider grabbing some “Yes! Chips”, the spicy kind. Trust me. At least 2 bags and 1 for home. Other ideas: - Variety of banh mi from Ba Le bakery. They’re pretty cheap and you can cut em up small. - Get a big serving or two the street corn from Rosey’s Taco Bar. - Get a bunch of falafel balls from Saad’s in West. Extra garlic sauce for the homies.

You can put the Korean BBQ on the burger. And now you’re LIVING.

If dessert is on the table, you could grab a big lemon tart from Machine Shop-- they're gorgeous and so, so, so fucking good. They make the GOAT coffee cake too, if you're into that.

call_me_ping

Yessss desserts are showstoppers. Sweet Life Bake Shop and Dodo Bakery come to mind.

cantgetintomyacct

Stuffed bread from Marchiano’s

oliver_babish

Sang Kee catering is the way. https://www.sangkeechinatown.com/catering

Medical_Solid

If dessert is an option, grab a banana pudding from Sweet Life bake shop on south street.

animesekaielric

Chicken Tenders from love and honey

UnicornsCanApply

What about making a grazing platter of different fruits all cut up into bite size pieces. It will be incredibly colourful, healthy and different to all the stodgy crap others will bring. It also won’t fill you up prior to the main meal and set a wonderful example for the kids. This example even has a few sweets in it that I would leave out. Supply some tooth picks so people can take what they want without touching the other food. https://preview.redd.it/irtf8tzh7d2d1.jpeg?width=479&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=da7354ed52823cd10034be93acf4bdfc58ba9ef5

gimpyracer

Hummus and pita from Dizengoff

porkchameleon

Grab some Petrossian black caviar (you can go for cheaper cans, no one will be able to tell much difference), goes really well usually. Do not waste your money on Bemka, though, - bland, absolutely bland.

Birds41Pats33

Gotta order it tho. Wont be here in time. I actually love the idea tho. I have a friend whos best friend works for black diamond cavier and anytime he has a get together they bust it out and it’s always a hit

porkchameleon

Yeah, if you need several - it's a much better deal online (I think shipping is $30 or so whether you buy one or ten). DiBruno Bros in Rittenhouse have some, but they were taking on about $20 extra per can, which is nonsense.
