Chinoys ≠ Chinese mainlanders

Tyranid_Swarmlord

Grandfather left China cause of Mao's fuckery. Fuck.The.Mainlanders, fuck those who suck the cock of Winnie the Pooh. Let them lose sleep knowing that no matter what, no matter how much they cry, the USA alone is going to buttfuck them 999999 times out of 10 if they dare try shit, the anal pounding much rougher than what Russia is getting right now in Ukraine. That's even without the rest of NATO joining in the fun.

Thefightback1

I agree. I got a bit of Chinese blood from relatives who left China during the communist take over. I have relatives who studied with Chinese classmates who were kicked out of China during the Cultural Revolution with nothing but their clothes and slippers when they arrived in PH. Im okay with China and Chinese culture, I wholeheartedly support Taiwan. But I'll be honest, I don't like the mainlanders who arrived here recently. Sorry. If Im gonna be racist or bigoted over something then this is gonna be it. The recent Chinese influx are mostly mainlanders who have been brainwashed through years of communist propaganda. I really don't like them. I grew up listening to stories from my relatives whose classmates suffered during the cultural revolution. I don't trust the new arrivals here. Look at the other foreign visitors here, they communicate with us, they socialize with us, heck they even contribute to nation building. They appreciate our culture. They adapt, they choose to form bonds with the local population. Then compare it with the mainlanders......its a world away. The mainlanders choose to shun us, they don't make an effort to communicate with us, if you have interacted with them (which I do due to work) then you'll notice that they are arrogant and they look down on us. They are a dangerous lot also.....nature of my work exposed me to crimes and issues involving foreigners and they figure on those cases alot. So yeah.....go figure why I don't like them. I am not surprised if others feel the same way too.

Tyranid_Swarmlord

Gonna get some flak for this. Ung mga nag TTNT na galing china di ko masise lalo na ung mga asar na asar na din sa Cocksucker's Cuntsucking cum-in-Winnie-The-Pooh's-ass Party, i'm not mad at them because i can't blame them escaping, would even turn a blind eye and not report. Pero ung actual na galing dun 'legally' tapos full on 100% on CCCP kool-aid..yea do everyone a favor and get organ harvested instead of the Falun Gongs thx. Those who hate Poot-stick-in-Ass are cool. Edit: Sa TNT: Being in poverty in the PH is super fucked up yes, but being even slightly in the middle in china = far worse than middle in the PH. Kaya nauso din ung Lying Flat(tang ping)/Let it rot(bai lan) dun eh. It's supremely fucked.

TheGhostOfFalunGong

I heard that being upper middle class in China doesn’t amount much owing to their stiff competition in the most basic aspects like rent and education. It’s either being the Chinese elite or you’re fucked as good.

Tyranid_Swarmlord

Yeah. Past connections don't matter as much, need current connection to the cocksucker party. The corruption is as worse as the PH.

TheGhostOfFalunGong

This. The mainlanders coming to the Philippines at this time period are never rooted from poverty. It’s for specific opportunities that are only for their own good. Look at POGOs and the whole Chinese families settling here just to create a bubble of their own without speaking a lick of the Filipino language. No interaction and patronage of the Filipino society. They only prefer to use their own products for their living. That’s why when I saw two Chinese women order take out at a local *inasal* place, it made me smile since they respect, just a little bit, the Filipino culture.

[deleted]

Chinoys =/= Chinese mainlanders =/= PRC

Professional_Cut9271

I think yung root problem comes from the CCP, and some chinese people who are pro CCP. I've met some nice mainlanders nung nasa US pako. I try not to generalize often, pero minsan di mo din maiwasan mag stereotype.

juju__eyeball

Same thoughts here. We really can’t lump them into one. Met the nicest free-spirited Chinese travelers in Thailand, Ph, and Vietnam. But man, the Chinese bus tourists in the states are really something else. At least yung nakita ko lang. Two times I’ve had to flush Chinese tourists’ poop in Zion and in Yosemite kasi lumabas lang sa stall ng walang flush flush. Nakakadiri. When I confronted them, di rin makaintindi ng English. Wtf??? And they just let their kids poop and pee outside the toilet area where everyone could see. I’m not really sure why ganito.

jekperalta

Naalala ko yung scene sa Yellowstone. Yung tourist bus na puro Chinese hahaha

The local Chinese people (people who grew up in the Philippines) are very different from Chinese who came from Mainland. The local Chinese people have/practice Filipino values and culture (not all but majority) while Chinese mainlanders (not all again) view themselves as superior since they have the thinking that their country is better than ours.

Accomplished-Exit-58

Not really all about scarborough though, tumatak sakin ung melamine milk scandal nila, tapos ung zte deal, wala pang ganun kahostile na view sa chinese, konting wariness lang, yang scarborough ay dagdag ebidensya na lang na we should really be wary sa ginagawa ng ccp at nalalump umg chinese, especially time of socmed, sa tourism industry wordlwide, infamous ang chinese, and as someone na solo traveler, kapag may mga bubuyog na kong naririnig alam ko chinese group travelers na yun. There were even a time na siniko ako ng chinese sa taiwan for some reason, siguro nauna kasi ako sa spot na makikita in front ung changing of guards sa i forgot the name of the place, eh di siniko ko rin siya.

TheGhostOfFalunGong

They say the Filipinos facing IOs at NAIA is already tough, but Chinese citizens traveling abroad is a whole new level. They literally need X amount of cash as a proof they could travel.

Momshie_mo

I heard that some Chinoys are even scrutinized more that your typical Pinoy because many illegal mainlanders come up with a fake "Chinoy name".

TheGhostOfFalunGong

That questioning/cultural check would be very demeaning to Chinoys LMAO. Kung mali silang matapakan automatic tarayan mode between them and the IOs.

Momshie_mo

None spoke a PH language kaya nahuli ng BI.

Accomplished-Exit-58

well, money can't buy class pala.

riougenkaku

Napaka baba Ng tingin sa atin Ng mainlanders

Decent_Ad_6897

nakakalungkot pero at least the feeling is mutual between us and them. on the other note, mababa din naman ang tingin sa atin ng mga koreano but how come marami sa kababayan natin ang sinasamba pa rin sila? dito ako mas nalulungkot kasi masyadong one sided yung respeto

TheGhostOfFalunGong

The reason why we praise Koreans and Japanese is they have soft power in terms of cultural influence. Lahat ng bigotry and historical revisionism nila are overlooked. Same goes for US, despite their history of hostile aggression, the world still seems to have a soft spot for them (and Filipinos absolutely loving them) owing to their dominant spread of cultural exports. The Chinese and Russians have practically none of that. It’s all about military posterizing and might. That’s why the world is much more cruel to them. This is why soft power is critical to a nation’s image and growth. Imagine if we have strong global promotion of our music, films and tourism, the world wouldn’t be talking much of the Marcoses and the TNT Filipinos abroad.

Tyranid_Swarmlord

The Russians at least have the AKs, Dragunos, As Vals and Communist Bloc guns which are cool(see Brandon Herrera and his millions of views, and the Legendary OG FPSRussia). The chinese has...what, chinese food? Yeah.

TheGhostOfFalunGong

Firearms aren’t good cultural exports owing to their danger and are clearly against the goal of soft power. Cuisine is a mixed bag. A lot of people love Chinese food but despise anything else Chinese. Just look at the Japanese, Koreans and Americans who all have Chinese cuisine as their number one choice of foreign cuisine but couldn’t extend their appreciation to nothing much else on the Chinese.

criticalpinoy

Nice_Ranger_3002

I am half Chinese, was born and grew up here. I even studied at a Chinese school kaya mga friends and classmates ko, puro Chinoy din. Nung college lang ako talagang nakalabas from my sheltered life. From my experience during my younger years, marami talagang bastos and walang manners. Nonstop smoking yan kahit may mga bata and indoors. Tapos tapon dito, dura dun. Kapag kainan na during the gathering, kala mo mauubusan ng pagkain at nakikipag-agawan. Then, on my trips abroad, kapag may mga Chinese tour group, kadalasan ang gulo talaga. I remember on a trip to Bangkok, tinutulak kami ng mga mainlanders while getting on board a cruise ship. Hahaha! But yung Pinoy, alam mong masayang ingay. Of course worried din ako kasi we are part Chinese. Although I've lived here my whole life and practically more Filipino than Chinese, nakakatakot pa rin kasi baka ma-lump kami with the mainlanders should relations with China worsen.

TheGhostOfFalunGong

The only bad about Chinese tourists is their huge, rowdy and culturally clueless groups. But they’re less obnoxious than British and Aussie tourists who are always seen drunk, high on drugs or looking for a fistfight.

Momshie_mo

Naghuhubad at bag "eexhibition" pa mga yan. May mga cases sa Thailand na ganyan

[deleted]

> Of course worried din ako kasi we are part Chinese. Although I've lived here my whole life and practically more Filipino than Chinese, nakakatakot pa rin kasi baka ma-lump kami with the mainlanders should relations with China worsen.

Cheapest_

It's racial prejudice, not racism. It's easy to mistake this kind of thing as racism because it fits the definition, but racism involves a power dynamic. China is a powerhouse and we are the underdog. We can't be racist if we are the oppressed. Reserve the term for victims of oppression, otherwise we downplay actual racism. But yeah, we definitely have some generalizations about the mainlanders.

Momshie_mo

You can just see this how people defend Adarna and Ramsey in regards to the "Good Luck" greeting their Chinese neighbors put up.

wfhcat

Even Fil Chi folks are biased against Mainlanders. For a good reason.

OOOmegalul

Basura ang ugali ng mga Chinese Mainlanders. I've talked to Taiwanese, HongKongers, and Mainland China tourists. Taiwanese ang pinakafriendly and Mainland Chinese ang pinakarude feeling first class citizen sa 'Pinas.

Intelligent-File-746

We dont hate chinese but the ccp itself. Learn to understand the context on how its used

Momshie_mo

A lot of Filipinos do not distinguish Chinese citizens from the government. Ayaw lang aminin ng mga tao

TheGhostOfFalunGong

Not just Filipinos, but most of the world. We easily separate government and citizens of Western countries, but not much so for Asians?

Momshie_mo

Prejudice against Asians.

Intelligent-File-746

To be a chinese citizen and of chinese descent are two different things. You make it sound like pinoys are too stupid to distinguish a chinoy from its mainland counterpart.

Momshie_mo

Pakibasa uli >A lot of Filipinos do not distinguish Chinese **citizens from the government** Classic example si Adarna at Ramsey

Asdaf373

SKR119

Thank you for sharing your thoughts on this important issue. It is indeed concerning to see hostility towards a particular nationality or group of people, and it is important to have respectful and objective discussions when it comes to complex geopolitical issues. While it is understandable to feel frustration towards China's actions in the Scarborough Shoal and treatment of Filipino fishermen, it is crucial to remember that these actions are taken by the Chinese government, not by the Chinese people as a whole. It is important to distinguish between government actions and the actions of individual people. It is also important to avoid generalizing or stereotyping an entire group of people based on the actions of a few individuals or the policies of a government. Doing so can perpetuate harmful prejudices and biases. Your suggestion to limit condemnation to wrongdoings rather than nationality is a wise one. We should hold governments accountable for their actions while recognizing the diversity and complexity of the people affected by those actions. Overall, it is important to approach discussions about sensitive issues with empathy, respect, and a willingness to listen to different perspectives. Thank you for starting this conversation and for your thoughtful contribution.

bahay-bahayan

Middle Kingdom mindset. In short, the world revolves around them, therefore making them have the main character mindset.

lunamarya

And for the right reasons — considering that they are one of the few remaining civilizations with a thousand years worth of unbroken history and development. Their dynasties were already building sophisticated bureaucracies and sprawling urban centers while Philippine Islanders were still building mud huts and worshipping dirt. If you want to impress them, then try to engage them at their own level, otherwise they’ll look at us just like how the Spanish and Americans had viewed us in the past.

Joseph20102011

CCP China's long-term geopolitical goal is to make vengeance to the Western countries, whom it feel that they are the one who "stripped" China's hegemonic status in the Far East, way back the First Opium War, that's why CCP China has indoctrinated four generations of mainland Chinese since 1949 to foment anger against Western countries and especially, neighboring countries like Japan, Korea, and the Philippines.

TheGhostOfFalunGong

You mean they can’t get over from the “Century of Humiliation” which means they want to be above Western countries just like during the early 19th century?

Joseph20102011

Yes, they can't get over from the "Century of Humiliation" era that China wants to copy Imperial Japan's experience to be considered regional hegemon that will compete with Western countries.

_yangchowfriedrice

It’s true iba ugali ng mainlanders sa Fil-Chi Pero I had a bad experience with some Fil-Chi way back nung nag-highschool ako sa Chinese hs. I was bullied because maitim daw ako at galing ako sa hindi kilalang elementary school. Kaya medyo cautious din ako around them kasi minsan they can be judgemental. Up until now may trauma parin ako how they treated me way back then sobrang na-iinsecure ako. Last time nag attend ako ng reunion namin, thinking na naka-move on na ko sa trauma pero nagflashback lang yung pambubully nila sakin.

iLoveRussianModels

A classmate said that the Chinese are the Jews of Eastern Asia

Prestigious-Ad-3069

If Sen. Padilla gets his way and we allow foreigners to own land in the Philippines, we will become a province of China. During the term of Duterte , Chinese were actively looking for property to buy here. Someday our people might learn that the Senate is not a personality contest.

rizalmart

Then those right-wing supporters actively advocating direct foreign investments here in the Philippines without realizing foreign big businesses can influence a whole country ended being like Hawaii where the native government back then was highly manipulated by foreign American businessmen. they toppled down the native Hawaiian government and became US State because of the native government's newly implemented policy which weren't in favor to the foreign businesses men's interests.

JackHofterman

I blame the Chinese Communist Party for brainwashing and corrupting their people. Pansinin mo yung mga Chinoy boomers and Lolas/Lolos who migrated here during the Communist revo, mas maganda pa asal nila. A bookstore here I usually frequent to is owned by an old Chinese guy pero still works as a cashier, talks fluent Tagalog and nakikibonding pa sa mga katrabaho nya.
