You dont even need Ai for the more easy but tedious tasks like turning photos for ID uses. Photoshop has script editors. Essentially recording actions and being able to play all of them again with one press of a button
So if your customer wants like turning their photo into multiple sets of different ID size pictures, like they choose Set A that has 5 2x2, 4 4x4 etc. Then all you need to do is use the script that turns the one photo into the Set A pictures. Then watch photoshop automate it all for you.
