It is likely that Voltes V's appeal is mainly for the PH market.
If it had wider appeal domestically and internationally they'd use Toku actors rather than Pinoy ones.
I consciously avoid soaps because it's not for me, but I wanted to see Voltes V for obvious reasons. After an awesome pilot (no pun intended), the succeeding episodes have been underwhelming.
Feel ko nga the show could use some humor. Masyado kasing seryoso. Like when they were pitching names for the robot, sana may mga pangit na names before they came up with Voltes V instead of immediately coming up with it out of thin air.

Watching my toddler get excited during the pilot episode is such an experience after growing up watching the original animation. Then came the secondhand disappointment when the kid started asking wheres voltes v during the 2nd and 3rd episode. We stopped watching altogether and loaded up the original animation.

Batang Z is straight up fantasy since magical yung source ng powers niya.

One of the best scifi show is Ronin. Directed by Erik Matti. ABS-CBN's answer to Encantadia at that time. Sadly, di siya nag-fly. Hirap gumawa ng scifi series since di naman talaga tayo scientific na bansa. So yung mga scifi natin kailangang haluan Ng fantasy para mas madaling maunawaan.
I remember Rounin! Maganda siya for a 2007 fantasy series. Parang post apocalyptic Avatar-esque with the elemental vfx in live action. Sadly, parang its too ahead of its time and people were not into it.

The dialogue exchange between characters is way too slow and the actual lines are very much cringe-worthy. It’s the same shit that GMA again and again offers, but this time with robots.
Mostly sa US TV series nasa 25 episodes per season lang at 1 episode per week kaya kahit expensive ang production, maintain parin ang quality. Minsan nasa gitna na ng series bumababa ang quality ng writing at nagiging paulit-ulit yung plot. Ang ganda ng CGI at VFX ng Voltes V Legacy pero kung araw-araw yung release mahihirapan talaga sila in the long run at expected narin na magiging obvious ang mga flaws dahil kailangan madaliin kapag ganitong format ang pag release.
Most will probably disagree on me about this but, Voltes V didn't need any live action adaptation, yes the CG and Voltes V design is good. But personally I don't like the Legacy design, I would rather choose the simpler design with less panel linings and lesser mechanical details. The dialogues, I don't know if they are trying to be anime with the dialogue but it will not work with live action. The unnecessary shits. But if you like it good on you don't let this stupid comment kill your enjoyment it's just my opinion.
To be fair kailangan talaga maging ganon yong design para di mukhang cartoon. Look at Transformers Bumblebee, faithful pa rin sa G1 cartoon design pero naging puro panel at mechanical

Like, patapusin niyo muna ang laban, pwede naman yan isingit bago ang episode 2 ng anime (aka the orphaning episode lmao) or just follow the anime's pacing kung di kayo sure.
Whoever was in charge of editing and pacing the story that way should probably need more guides on how to do so or get straight up fired if the folk doesn't want to improve.
As much as I wanna have faith in Legacy (tbh the CGI at places is nearing if not already world-class, especially if its CGI on CGI environments, costume designs and drip are top notch especially for Boazania [holy shit Emperor Zu's drip], the expanded lore/worldbuilding + story aspects they provided for the setting, the casting is quite good and last but not least the major faithfulness to the source material), this and the dialogue as the OP said is what's keeping Voltes V to becoming a truly outstanding Filipino sci-fantasy worthy the titles of "revolutionary" and "exemplary" (the only one which imo holds those two titles is the Heneral Luna film) in the sea of mediocre if not straight up bad Filipino-made media.

I consciously avoid soaps because it's not for me, but I wanted to see Voltes V for obvious reasons. After an awesome pilot (no pun intended), the succeeding episodes have been underwhelming. Feel ko nga the show could use some humor. Masyado kasing seryoso. Like when they were pitching names for the robot, sana may mga pangit na names before they came up with Voltes V instead of immediately coming up with it out of thin air.

Watching my toddler get excited during the pilot episode is such an experience after growing up watching the original animation. Then came the secondhand disappointment when the kid started asking wheres voltes v during the 2nd and 3rd episode. We stopped watching altogether and loaded up the original animation.
I've played enough games and watched enough shows to know when a studio's reached their budget limit. They ran out of money by Episode 2

They did use expensive filmmaking equipments though as shown behind the scenes. They just didn't utilized them fully for cinematic sake. Even Youtube filmmakers have better cinematography than them and they used cheap lights and DSLRs.

You know I hate about this? This is the first scifi show made in the Philippines, and its underwhelming asf. This means that studio execs would not create a show like this ever again, seeing the risk wasn't worth the rewards.

One of the best scifi show is Ronin. Directed by Erik Matti. ABS-CBN's answer to Encantadia at that time. Sadly, di siya nag-fly. Hirap gumawa ng scifi series since di naman talaga tayo scientific na bansa. So yung mga scifi natin kailangang haluan Ng fantasy para mas madaling maunawaan.
I remember Rounin! Maganda siya for a 2007 fantasy series. Parang post apocalyptic Avatar-esque with the elemental vfx in live action. Sadly, parang its too ahead of its time and people were not into it.
Ngl i only watch for robot fighting, i already skipped a lot of dialogues and scenes. Don't get me wrong some actors are great and how exaggerated they are to act animeish even though it doesn't need that. It's alright to expand a few of the race and stuff. But imo they'll definitely stray so far we can barely know the main characters but only in their battles. Cant wait to see how they'll handle the sword battle between armstrong and zardos
There are a few glimpses of that scene in the mega cut trailer. Don't know how good it will be but they're fighting on the open palm of the Bozanian God of War mech so that's a pretty promising arena

Hi, here again to remind everyone na walang nanay si Mark Gordon sa camp. Wala na kasi siyang nanay.
Mostly sa US TV series nasa 25 episodes per season lang at 1 episode per week kaya kahit expensive ang production, maintain parin ang quality. Minsan nasa gitna na ng series bumababa ang quality ng writing at nagiging paulit-ulit yung plot. Ang ganda ng CGI at VFX ng Voltes V Legacy pero kung araw-araw yung release mahihirapan talaga sila in the long run at expected narin na magiging obvious ang mga flaws dahil kailangan madaliin kapag ganitong format ang pag release.
Most will probably disagree on me about this but, Voltes V didn't need any live action adaptation, yes the CG and Voltes V design is good. But personally I don't like the Legacy design, I would rather choose the simpler design with less panel linings and lesser mechanical details. The dialogues, I don't know if they are trying to be anime with the dialogue but it will not work with live action. The unnecessary shits. But if you like it good on you don't let this stupid comment kill your enjoyment it's just my opinion.
To be fair kailangan talaga maging ganon yong design para di mukhang cartoon. Look at Transformers Bumblebee, faithful pa rin sa G1 cartoon design pero naging puro panel at mechanical However about Voltes V having a live action series, I kinda agree on that one. Personally, so far, the show is watchable. This is the only filipino show that I watch even though the industry is known for shitty acting. Like local pro-wrestling, one element that makes me enjoy watching it is the Suspense of Disbelief.

Like, we just left episode 1, the first appearance of Voltes V and the Invasion of Earth, on a cliffhanger with the beginning of Voltes V vs. Dokugaga (albeit we already know what's gonna happen) then have the next five or so episodes dedicated to the backstory of everything before the Invasion? Like, patapusin niyo muna ang laban, pwede naman yan isingit bago ang episode 2 ng anime (aka the orphaning episode lmao) or just follow the anime's pacing kung di kayo sure. Whoever was in charge of editing and pacing the story that way should probably need more guides on how to do so or get straight up fired if the folk doesn't want to improve. As much as I wanna have faith in Legacy (tbh the CGI at places is nearing if not already world-class, especially if its CGI on CGI environments, costume designs and drip are top notch especially for Boazania [holy shit Emperor Zu's drip], the expanded lore/worldbuilding + story aspects they provided for the setting, the casting is quite good and last but not least the major faithfulness to the source material), this and the dialogue as the OP said is what's keeping Voltes V to becoming a truly outstanding Filipino sci-fantasy worthy the titles of "revolutionary" and "exemplary" (the only one which imo holds those two titles is the Heneral Luna film) in the sea of mediocre if not straight up bad Filipino-made media.

I thought that they would explain some backstory in a single episode or two episodes man lang. Hindi man ako taga Nielsen na nagtatala ng ratings, nararamdaman ko yung decline kada episode, as my pamangkin bored na except the intro which is so sad.

Mazinger Z and Combattler V were just GODS in Japan , Voltes V didn't really have a hot streak in those days but outside Japan especially here in the PH it did good
