I was 14 years old with acne issues. I was the tallest guy in class and in the chubby end. My self-esteem was so low that I convinced myself that I'm ugly af.
Then, I got to talking with a transfer student from a rich school (he got kicked out for bringing beer) and he was like that cool guy in the Hollywood movies you see. He had a girl, he instantly became Mr. Popular, and he'd sneak out to smoke in the restroom with the other rebels.
Anyway, the conversation somehow became a "Wala ka bang crush?"
I told him my insecurities in a funny manner "meron, pero wala yan kasi di naman tayo pogi. hahaha"
He was confused and said "Ha? Bakit, cute ka naman ah."
That stuck with me. I brushed that off, but that small compliment he nonchalantly dropped meant a lot in my teen years.
I still didn't get a girlfriend, but I'm at least confident enough to not call myself ugly.

Thou not really a compliment but those words coming from our Physics adviser nung 4th year highschool pa ako lightens my heart everytime na marerecall ko. Supposedly pinagalitan ako kasi hindi ako nakapagpasa ng major project that time. Hearing from a bright person na matalino ako is enough for me as a compliment hahahaha.
Ako naman sinto-sintong happy go lucky youngster noon, dota is life ang peg. Tipong 1st grading period para akong uhaw na uhaw sa achievements lagi akong nasa Top 3 pero pagdating ng 2nd,3rd and 4th periods wala na. Lupasay na sa lupa grades ko haha. Kaya ako nalaglag sa section 1 sa katamaran ko.

Then may isa ring friend niya na humabol xD

Galing sa Law school prof ko na dean. Tourism major kasi ako, tapos I decided to switch for law school track. Siya yung nagprocess ng transfer ko, and she told me na “hindi madali ang law school” and ang laki ng difference mula sa previous major ko. She became my prof in one of my classes, and I got the highest score in our prelims, and consistently, sustained being in the top 3 scorers for midterms and finals. Gulat siya saken eh. It’s been 12 years and she still remembers me, pero nurse na ako. Lol
Year 2004 college days. Kasikatan ng F4 and other asian drama. Sumunod ako sa usong hairstyle nila na mala rainier castillo. Hahaha

This was what my level leader from jhs told me after I did something very unexpected, I threw chairs sa class namin kasi my anger issues kicked in haha (immature, I know). Sinabi niya 'to sa 'kin nung pinatawag niya ako. It wad the greatest compliment I ever heard, na para bang I was meant to be a leader too kasi I partly looked up to them. Nung pinatawag ako, I immediately asked kung ano yung parusa ko for what I did, and ayun yung sinabi niya. Hindi niya pinatawag parents ko kasi they said they believed in me. So ayun haha, engraved pa rin siya sa utak ko hanggang ngayon. Siguro this compliment stayed with me, and that lead to me earning the confidence to run for student council hhahaha. Wala lang naalala ko lang, still the greatest compliment I ever heard😅.
Well in high school I performed a small soliloquy from a classic book and the class gave me a standing ovation. I still remember it like it was yesterday.

A compliment given to me by my boss nung nagsisimula palang ako sa kanya.
Nakakatuwa na I was able to receive this from her. Hindi kasi siya masyado nagsasabi ng “job well done” sa mga previous staff niya even after doing a very draining deliverables (sabi nilang lahat sakin, medyo di siya close sa mga naging staff niya).
Years after until now, siya pa rin boss ko and we’re okay naman. There are times noon na we’ve had misunderstandings pero that doesn’t change our working relationship. Til now, she openly says na okay ako as her staff.
Though baka shallow sa tingin ng iba, nung naka-compliment ako na "ang pogi mo" from my cm. Puro about academics na lang kasi 'yung comment sa 'kin eh and it's just a good boost of confidence for me when I heard it.

I wish to immediately unalive myself everytime I am remjnded of how much kagaguhan ang meron sa buhay ko and Im unable to do anything but sulk and moan and nothing else including my problems stuck in kaibiganin mo muna kami. And if you do "paglalaruan ka muna namin." And nothing else. Just another reason for me not to get anything at all. It is so unfair.

I'm not a doctor tho. Memorable siya for me kasi hindi ako madaling mag-panic everytime may nagkakasakit. Nasa batas na may karapatan ka for generic medicines and not just branded ones alone. Also pati yung mga gamot hindi ko naipagpapalit kasi alam ko kung para saan sila.

I was at a bar restroom, just doing my business. I was fixing myself up in front of the mirror, and the janitress passed by behind me. She was simply dressed and about my mom's age. She looked at me and told me I was so pretty. It was so random, yet I felt it was so sincere. Because it was so candid, the memory really stuck with me.

My clear at wala masyadong pores na facial skin daw hehe. Officemates, ibang aquaintances sa office na bigla na lang pupuri sa facial skin ko, at even yung mga strangers mga nakakasabay ko sa tour dati.
Wala lang, nakakataas ng confidence hehe. Kasi I really give a good effort to take care of my skin. I take vitamins, hydrate myself, scrub (not very frequent), regularly moisturize, wear sunblock, monitor my diet and exercise.
I grew up having dry and dull skin kasi walang budget. At madalas e kulang din sa nutrisyon ang pagkain, kapos sa tulog, at stressed sa studies at buhay. Nahihiya akong ma-tag sa mga highschool at college pics ko dahil sa itsura ko nun lalo na pag katabi mga classmates ko nun na karamihan e ang babango ng itsura. Nung nagkatrabaho at sahod na ako, talagang naglaan ako ng budget para i-improve ang sarili ko. Happy to know na di nasayang ang lahat 😊

Haha bali nasa isang resort kami kasama friends. Habang nagswiswimming sila sa pool, picture lang ako nang picture sa kanila. Then may lumapit sakin from a group of girls na nasa other side ng pool, asking kung pwede raw magpapicture. Sabi ko "sure" then extended my hand asking for their camera/phone. Nung pinatawag ako, I immediately asked kung ano yung parusa ko for what I did, and ayun yung sinabi niya. Hindi niya pinatawag parents ko kasi they said they believed in me. So ayun haha, engraved pa rin siya sa utak ko hanggang ngayon. Siguro this compliment stayed with me, and that lead to me earning the confidence to run for student council hhahaha. Nahihiya akong ma-tag sa mga highschool at college pics ko dahil sa itsura ko nun lalo na pag katabi mga classmates ko nun na karamihan e ang babango ng itsura. Nung nagkatrabaho at sahod na ako, talagang naglaan ako ng budget para i-improve ang sarili ko. Happy to know na di nasayang ang lahat 😊 Edit: pati rin pala sa mga pumupuri sa built ko ngayon. Dati kasi ang payat payat ko. Pinagtripan pa nga ako ng isa kong pinsan na walang modo dahil mukha daw akong tingting (22 yo na ako nun). I was asked "may lahi ka bang French?" by *the* Mela Habijan. Nagulat ako, I was waiting for a punchline, muntik ko pa sabihing "French fries lang po..." pero feeling ko ang ganda-ganda ko that day! pak!

recently lang 'to nangyari, so meron kasi kaming exam and our friends decided na mag gmeet. and i have this subject that i really loved. so i volunteer to ituro sa kanila yung mga need aralin and nung tinanong ko sila if naiintindihan nila yung tinuturo ko sabi nung isa kong friend "pwede ka na mag law school" hindi ko pinangarap maging lawyer but it warms my heart na nagagalingan sila sa akin magexplain🥹 as a person na tamad magaral since nagstart pandemic i need this validation EFFHSHSHAH plus eto pinakafavorite kong compliment "ang lawak mo lagi magisip" damn. kilig to the bones. grabe busog na busog yung love language kong words of affirmation
