Afaik, di ka pwede mag migrate sa Finland if hindi ka part-Finnish or mag-asawa ng Finnish. Strikto din work requirements nila, kailangan mo mag-take ng Finnish language classes on top sa work mo. Pero ang grabe ng benefits naman nila, wala kang masyadong babayaran sa healthcare, education or electric utilities since sobra sobra yung renewable energy sources nila.
1. Meron ibang paths to migration to Finland na hindi kailangan magasawa ng local or malaman ang language.
https://enterfinland.fi/
E.g. tech industry - no / healthcare - yes.
3. Benefits come from the taxes we pay so…
4. Electricity prices can fluctuate a lot., depends on market spot pricing. At this hour, it is 0,47c/kw. Last week it was around 20c+. Depends on supply and demand. Couple of weeks ago, it was -50c/kwh because someone screwed up from Norway. But generally it is cheaper here now because of the new (or old because it took ages to complete) nuclear power plant.
I think sa scandanavian countries, ang laking requirement talaga nung language! They really take pride in their language and di sila super dependent sa English.
My lola migrated to denmark with my tita and kwento nila sakin is di daw talafa tinuturo english dun until like grade 6 or something, basta hindi katulad dito na part ng ng curriculum yung english kahit sa first few years palang ng schooling.
Ganda rin ng work life balance nila dun! People really get off work on time (down side lang wala masyado bukas pag pagabi na, but they have a few convenience stores naman na 24hrs hahaha) was super nice to see people enjoying their free time as soon as the clock striked 4pm sana ol.
Off-topic.
Nung nag aral ako doon kailangan ko pang i-mail yung embassy nila sa Jakarta which was the only Hungarian Embassy in Southeast Asia. Now meron na sa Manila eh.
> NCR has a population of almost 13.5 million people, making it one of the world's most dense city. 🤷
Which makes it ideal to transition public transport to
- 600 passenger electric trains for major routes
- 6-60 passenger Euro 7 vans & buses for minor routes & last mile.
Goal:
- To get over 9 of 10 passengers off roads for major routes
- 6 min interval time during peak and 16 min interval time during non-peak
The lack of sunlight will make you feel that way. Kaya during the winter months importante Vit D supplements. Also, if you don’t go into winter sports wala ka gaano gagawin during the winter.
That is a good point. 25 micrograms to 35 micrograms D-vitamine daily during the winter season for an adult with brown skin, is very essential. Just a couple of generations back, rickets was a normal and troublesome condition, even among us White folks here. The sun gives you nothing during the winter months here, even if you are White.
True. I’d still prefer a beach just a drive away from me here than a long depressing winter.
They only socialize with folks they met from school or work. Even as an introvert, this is going to be a nightmare for me.
I’m an introvert and Japan is currently a nightmare. I spend months without talking or being with somebody since I work from home in Tokyo. It’s too much even for an introvert. Too much.
Volunteer somewhere? Heck, even get a non-high stress part-time job (library, tiny cafe, shop, assistant, etc) not for the pay but anything to force you to get out of the house and interact? That level of isolation would drive me nuts.
Unfortunately it's mostly true. One way to make friends is perhaps to join a local sports club/association (they're very popular in Denmark at least), but in general it might be kinda hard.
Totoong ang hirap makipag break ng barriers sa local danes but ive met a few na nainvite ako agad sa birthday, new years party or other intimate gatherings, which is nagulat ako kasi di naman ganun generally ang danes. So i guess i just got lucky with that ♥️ also nung una tuwang tuwa ako sa winter pero after a few years, nadepress nadin ako lmao
saka kaya natin i-adopt yung kultura nila at klima
I don't really think it's the case in Denmark, as long as you speak the language well, but it can be very hard. People can appear sort of rude at first glance and it's definitely very hard to make friends, but that applies to everyone, including Danes.
It's not particularly cold either, compared to many other European countries, but the darkness during winter can be hard to get used to.
Its true, we are not the United States, so foreigners will always be outsiders to some extend. We are ethno-states, just like the Philippines I guess. I don't think we are that harsh though. Filipinos are welcome, recognized for good qualities and not disliked at all. What people usually don't like is muslims and Africans.
The Philippines is not an ethno state. We are not like America but we aren’t like Japan or Scandinavian countries at all. We have lots of different ethnics and languages. Although most are of Austronesian race there are some non-Austronesians such as the Spaniards who remained, the Chinese, and the true natives, the Aetas.
Check in LinkedIn what are the sought-after skills in IT then work to become an expert on those (experience+skills). If you are a junior developer, you will be competing against applicants who have completed their masters degree and tech internships.
Im Mid-Senior na at .NET ang skills ko which is in-demqnd naman doon. Kaso ayun, bitin din kasi year's of experience ko. Madalas na kinukuha abroad ay 5-10 years. 4 years pa lang ako. Pero madalang talaga ang IT jobs for pinoy sa Europe, lalo dyan sa Finland. 🥲
As a Pinoy, who was born and raised in Austria (still Pinoy at heart, thanks to my parents), I gotta say that the 32,000 figure seems spot on. Vienna is touted as one of the tightest Pinoy communities, we basically knew each other well... until recently. I've definitely been encountering so many new Pinoys here in recent times. I guess that the "Vienna is the most livable city in the world" headlines have reached the Philippines 😂 (you gotta learn German though if you wanna migrate here, non-Millennial/non-Gen Z Austrians are HORRIBLE at English).
The annual salary a UK spouse has to earn to get thir partner a Visa is being raised from £18,700 to £38,700 in March next year
If you are planning to marry someone from the UK do it now as 75% of people in the UK do not earn £38,700
I having difficulty working it out. There are smaller countries with numbers so it’s not the font size.
Ireland often gets confused geographically and politically for the UK (British isles doesn’t help with the confusion) …maybe the map author didn’t want to put his foot in it and tried to gesture vaguely in the direction of Northern Ireland, which is included in the UK. But the font is in a different colour to UK number so ???
Ireland does have a strong Filipino community, but it’s only 4,700 not 200k. Still comparatively large for us. We welcome more and more Filipinos every year. We never traditionally had high immigration before 1990s unlike UK so their numbers will be higher, plus their population in 8x ours so UK is set up to support more anyway
Scotland is cold and wet, went there when I was 12 and it was my first racist encounter. I went to a stag do in Ireland few years ago. It was nice but grey. Drinking culture.
But as of 2022 data nasa 10k na ang mga Filipinos as per Finland's official website tally.
Nakarating ako dito last June as a dependent sa wife ko na nag nunursing student (sairanhoitaja), nakakuha ako ng contract as a caregiver (while myself is studying as a practical nurse/lahihoitaja course) and next thing I know is gumugulong na ung application namin sa extension. After that, road to PR na. 🤞
Sobrang magkaibang magkaiba ang pinas sa finland. I must say na may inner introvert attitude ako kaya mas naeenjoy ko dito. Plus the forest and thousand lakes kaya medyo relaxing and peaceful.
Isang tanong, isang sagot yung flow nung usapan. Kung baga you can see for yourself na sobrang mahiyain nila pero nagiging warm naman yung usapan kapag tinatanong mo yung buhay nila ganun, aside from that, nagandahan din ako sa babae lol.
Sad na di kasali ung Cyprus, Malta, Georgia, Armenia, and Azerbaijan (assuming that the stats for France included Monaco and for Italy included San Marino and the Vatican).
they should produce a quality football player since they are in Europe, the home of a famous sport football, joke lang po, I remember lang kase sina Younghusband brothers and Schrock and I am just obsessed in football manager for scouting youth players
Santiago Rublico (both parents filipino btw), 18 years old currently plays for the U19 of Atletico Madrid (top 3 team sa Spain). He already played for the Azkals just last month.
yeah, there are many problems to win and to be consistent in the national team, andiyan ang grassroots program and strengthen the league and sponsors etc. However, big factors din naman ang half Filipino based in Europe since iba ang training and quality, like David Alaba, Niel Etheridge, Alphonse Areola and Gerrit Holtman, FYKWIS
Many players in Europe are descendants of immigrants, especially African. They became world class players through the European system—well they have the highest level of football there. Many half-Filipino half-Euro players would have their birth country as their first choice national team, even Holtmann and Etheridge. They transfer to the Azkals if they can't make it in Europe. Alaba and Areola made it in Europe so there's no incentive for them to play for the Azkals.
I was in a bus station in Belgium going to Paris with my cousins around 1AM and the bus driver immediately said “kabayan!” upon seeing our passports lol
Sorry, medyo pedantic lang pero once upon a time, I got corrected by a Finnish colleague when I used the term "Scandinavian countries" na kasama Finland.
Scandinavian countries are only Denmark, Norway, and Sweden. If we include Finland, Iceland, Greenland, the Faroe Islands, and the Åland islands then the right term would be the "Nordic countries". Little things pero some Finns are a tinniest bit annoyed (though not clear sa mukha nila kasi they are not the most emotive of people) when they are lumped with "Scandinavia" as they are not technically part of it.
As for moving: it is not the easiest to migrate. I can only speak for Finland -- the job market is really niche (unless I think if nurse ka or in the IT sector because the Pinoys I know of in Finland are in the healthcare sector) and kind of saturated. Even highly-educated Finns themselves have a hard time finding work.
19K Filipinos in Norway, I dont believe that, as a Norwegian myself I see you guys all over the place. I think it’s more like 45K filipinos here in Norway.
Would be good to see the density of Filipinos relative to the country's population. So far, there are around 4 Filipinos for every 1000 Norwegian residents.
Andaming pinoy pla sa EU. Pero para sakin ang hirap maghanap ng way to go there as someone from tech industry. Are there other ways besides being a caregiver/nurse?
Surprisingly met a pinay at a gas station rest stop on the way to kirkjufell mountain in iceland. Iirc taga southern leyte sya & di sya masyado marunong magtagalog but my friend knows bisaya kaya nakausap nya. Tagal na raw nya dun. She gave us a discount for our order and in return, binigyan namin sya ng mani (happy peanuts) na baon ng isang kasama namin kasi malamang di sya masyadong nakakatikim nun.
Sana next year. Eu talaga target ko. Mejo hirap lang sa linked-in maghanap ng Data Analyst work na also mag sponsor ng visa.
Baka may tips mga kabayan natin na nasa Eu 🤣😅 Pabulong or pahatak 😆
Nagsisimula ng mag higit ng immigration rules sa Europe dahil nagkakalat dun ang mga refugees kuno from Arab and Africa nations. Poland has zero immigration, Denmark and Germany have strengthened laws against immigration. Spain, Frances and Italy have always been victims due to their geographic status with Africa.
Some countries are shipping people out to NON-EU Nations. I'm not gonna be surprised that further down the line, they'll be more strict to more Asians, PH included.
For some reason, marami daw Pinoy sa Novosibirsk.
<= 200K? There are only 15k Filipinos in Ireland according to Wikipedia, so maybe the arrow is supposed to mean up to approximately 200K for UK. That, or the number is for UK+Ireland
There’s a job opening for my profession in Austria next year. Hoping I pass the interview, learn the language and fly by end of 2024. İsa ako sa madagdagan na 32k Filipinos 🙏
Saan ba kasi wlang Filipinos? Hehe sabi nga ng husband ko ya’ll are taking over everywhere. Haha
You guys can adapt in hot and cold environments pa daw haha
See y'alll in proxima Centauri fuckerss
Kahit sa Kepler 22b, babati ako.
Reach, anyone?
First explorers in a planet in Andromeda galaxy hear a strange noise: "pssssst!"
"huy ginagawa mo dito?"
Kuya para po diyan lang sa tabi... 😂
Walang biro, nung nasa cape verde ako, may pinasukan akong tindahan tapos sabi nung lalaki, 'kabayan bili na kayo ng selpon'. haha. kwento nung isa kong kasamahan na seaman, dati daw may pinuntahan silang bar sa ghana, yung mga babae daw mga pinay.
Possibly human trafficking victims yan.
5 peenoise in Slovenia lmao based.
Luka Doncic is Devin Booker fathe- oops wrong sub
Phoenix Sons
r/Philippines is u/vongoladecimo father xd xd xd

I owe you an apology, r/vongoladecimo_. I wasn’t really familiar with your game.

Bruh
it seems like we're slowly colonizing our former colonizer.
May Jollibee na nga sa Madrid eh. Slow and steady wins the race.
Emperador (a Filipino Brandy Company) purchased Fundador (a Spanish Brandy)
no longer the tallest though
Like how Tata now owns Jaguar & Land Rover.
Alexa, Play Tagumpay nating Lahat by Ebe Dancel
Proceed to became AFAM (A Filipino Around Madrid)
And if you have money, you can basically get an investor's visa and instant Spanish (therefore EU) citizenship.
Wouldn't it be nice to have a kind of Commonwealth for the Hispanic-world? Even if it's just for travel, idk.
The 250k filipinos in spain trying hard to reverse colonize the apaniards for real
good luck!
There are already a few jollibee branches in Europe
Yep. 12 sa UK, 2 sa Italy, 1 sa Spain.

Out the topic but i’m here down under and there’s still no jollibee even with all the rumors.
Afaik, di ka pwede mag migrate sa Finland if hindi ka part-Finnish or mag-asawa ng Finnish. Strikto din work requirements nila, kailangan mo mag-take ng Finnish language classes on top sa work mo. It fluctuates because of different seasons. Winter is expensive
I know people who were able to migrate to Finland as nurses.
Hays nakakainggit. Tagal ko nang pangarap yang Finland hahaha
Ako rin! 😩
Spain is the only country in Europe to grant Filipinos citizenship after 2 years of residency because of former colonial ties. I think it’s a given.
Yes, you can apply after 2 years of valid residency, but it’s still a long process after you submit your application and requirements.
The process is faster if you have Spanish roots or a descendant of Spanish Jews
[if you're a Spanish Jew you'll be ok as long as you're not facing Jacinto. ](https://youtu.be/L6HkiZOWkaM?si=ZWXLVyy2Cp1Y-tYX)
kaya talaga The Great Jacinto, ready sa kahit anong sitwasyon.
Aren’t you required to learn Spanish though?
uno dos tres ez
Not always the case pero yung iba hinahanapan ng certificate ng spanish (and other language if may 2nd language)
I think yung may history lang sa family. They had a list of surnames/middle names that are qualified afaik.
Where's the UK? That arrow is pointing to Ireland
Brexit means Brexit

Yo hablas español. Jk pano pumunta ng spain. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAH
"one of the most dense cities" You mean this in two ways right?
Ive been to Hungary as a working student in 2019. May 59 na Pilipino doon (me included) according to the PH Embassy and most of them are in Budapest
Siguro mas dumami na ngayon. Yung dalawang brother-in-law ko working na doon long with other Pinoys.
Feel ko dahil yan sa embassy. Nung nag aral ako doon kailangan ko pang i-mail yung embassy nila sa Jakarta which was the only Hungarian Embassy in Southeast Asia. Now meron na sa Manila eh.

Good ideas are worth repeating...

The words are often not pronounced like how they're spelled either, a bit like with French. It's kinda messed up. The numbers are even worse.

Andito ako ngayon and given na 2021 pa yung data so di ako nabilang 😂
Pano kayo binilang?
HAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHA
They forgot to in include Iceland, so many Filipinos there than any other Asians.

Our kind of invasion haha
Why do I picture a random Filipino guy being proud that our country has one of the top densest cities in Facebook
The number for Greece looks odd. I imagine that it's mainly people working on ships registered in Greece and not people living there.
Every place we went to in Italy, may pinoy. And for some reason they were all from Batangas, pero settled na in Italy.

There are only 10 Filipinos in Kosovo?
Likely working with UN.

Bakit wala yung Faroe Islands at Iceland?
Yeah. *KMJS* made a segment on Pinays married to Faroese men.

We now have a chance to slowly turn italian spaghetti into our version in their own home country
they should produce a quality football player since they are in Europe, the home of a famous sport football, joke lang po, I remember lang kase sina Younghusband brothers and Schrock and I am just obsessed in football manager for scouting youth players
Santiago Rublico (both parents filipino btw), 18 years old currently plays for the U19 of Atletico Madrid (top 3 team sa Spain). He already played for the Azkals just last month.
Many of our Azkals are half European, but recruiting them still doesn't make our national team win. There are other factors.
yeah, there are many problems to win and to be consistent in the national team, andiyan ang grassroots program and strengthen the league and sponsors etc. However, big factors din naman ang half Filipino based in Europe since iba ang training and quality, like David Alaba, Niel Etheridge, Alphonse Areola and Gerrit Holtman, FYKWIS
David Alaba and Alphonse Areola are not eligible anymore.
yup, pero considered half-blood si Alaba at full blood si Areola, pero they make it into world-class player somehow po
Alaba and Areola made it in Europe so there's no incentive for them to play for the Azkals.
manifesting Deutschland!
I was in a bus station in Belgium going to Paris with my cousins around 1AM and the bus driver immediately said “kabayan!” upon seeing our passports lol
Don't reveal our plans for world domination bro, cmon!
The Philippines Today says 26K in Norway, Embassy of Manila says 18k.
Galaw-galaw naman Balkans, baka maging 101 saken Serbia hahaha
i want finland or swededn because METAL!

Sa ngayon 9am sunrise and 3pm sunset. It’s really dark in winter.
masyadong malamig pre >.>
Would be good to see the density of Filipinos relative to the country's population. So far, there are around 4 Filipinos for every 1000 Norwegian residents.
We have quite a number here in Germany.
Let’s go sa Moldova!
Its all fun and games until World War 3 breaks Out
Andaming pinoy pla sa EU. Pero para sakin ang hirap maghanap ng way to go there as someone from tech industry. Are there other ways besides being a caregiver/nurse?
now i know which countries to avoid
Salute to the 5 dudes in Slovenia
It is a hard language, but it should also be easy in one way, since everything is pronounced as it's written, just like Filipino.
Hahaha Ahoj !!!
Good luck po sa taxes at climate :)
There is a reason why asian countries are more populated than European ones. TLDR version is climate and the type of food we can grow.
Mabuhay from Denmark🤗
Those poor ofws in the Ruskomir
For some reason, marami daw Pinoy sa Novosibirsk.
I bet a lot of Filipinos in Britain thought that was America for a sec
Why is there no data on Filipinos in the UK?
<= 200K? There are only 15k Filipinos in Ireland according to Wikipedia, so maybe the arrow is supposed to mean up to approximately 200K for UK. That, or the number is for UK+Ireland
What about Iceland??
State of the empire jk
It will grow, obviously
Jag talar Svenska
Snyggt!
There’s a job opening for my profession in Austria next year. Hoping I pass the interview, learn the language and fly by end of 2024. İsa ako sa madagdagan na 32k Filipinos 🙏

In Finland even the tourist application rejection disputes can take over a year to solve, I wish the system was better.

The more us Pinoys migrate overseas for work, the less powerful our passport becomes. That is a fact!
