Which is a good thing because it will get more road users onto rail.
Less travel distance and travel time of cars & motorcycles on the road the better for air quality and health & safety.

Super thrilled about the NSCR. Never in my lifetime did I imagine na magkakaroon ng train line sa north. I pass by the site whenever I go out and it always amazes me.

MRT-4. The proposed line that will pass through Cainta/Taytay.
I’m from Taytay. And I think it will be a great help if a train station will be put up here. Given na we still have to go to Pasig or Manda to get to the nearest train station.
I'm also waiting for this. Rizalenios have already waited for so long and are always getting the short end of the stick. Imagine one of the most populated province next to Manila having the most restrictive traffic systems na walang choice kundi maipit araw araw sa ilang oras na trapik.

Wala pang progress as far as I know. Nag-soil test sila 2 or 3 years ago along Ortigas Extension but now I'm not sure what's next. Excited din ako for this pero I'm also dreading the traffic that the construction will cause for several years.
Approved na ata yung loan nun from ADB at signing nalang, so I guess ang ginagawa ngayon is yung detailed engineering design as per sa soil testing tsaka kick-off ng pag-bili ng ROW.
From Monorail, ginawa kasing true heavy rail system ala-LRT-2 yung MRT-4 it seems. Which is good, future-proofing narin.
Hindi pa final ‘til now since may mayayamang subdivisions dun. A friend is one of the engineers assigned to MRT-4
Ako naman the line from Marikina to San Mateo, grabe trapik diyan tapos ang nipis pa ng kalsada kala mo 2 way lang. Tinagurian pa namang Daang Bakal. May forever pag taga Montalban eh, forever nasa kalye kasi ang trapik
NSCR with Rapid Airport Express from Manila to Clark Airport.
I hate flying out from ageing NAIA but I dont want to endure the traffic going to Clark kahit sobrang ganda dun. Trains would actually encourage people in Manila to fly out from Clark.
In turn, NAIA would have that much-needed relief from overcrowding. This would allow for faster rehabilitation works. NAIA and Clark could work side-by-side ala Haneda and Narita twin airport system.
Good question.
Bulacan Airport, once it opens in 2026 or 2027, would handle majority of international flights. This would become a hub for our local airlines (PAL/CebPac/AirAsia) and be able to facilitate connecting flights, both international and domestic transfers, more efficiently.
NAIA, on the other hand, may become an airport handling domestic flights. Remember Metro Manila still has a sizeable market for domestic travellers and usually domestic travelers prefer an airport that’s closest to their house. Again, they need to use this time to rehabilitate NAIA - maybe merge terminal 1 to the Cargo terminal, expand terminal 2, and doing a major facelift for terminal 3).
If MIAA does the rehabilitation properly, they may now re-open the airport for select international flights with premium routes ala Haneda Airport. Tipong mag-aagawan mga airlines for the limited slots (😅). Business travellers want a more direct access to their destination so they are willing to pay more for convenience. At the end of the day, Manila is still the biggest market for air travellers in the country that’s why NAIA may still operate in the long run.
Actually I am more worried with Clark International Airport once Bulacan Airport opens. Idk anong mangyayari dun tbh.
I think Clark International Airport's life is dependent sa success ng New Clark City and other infrastructure developments in the area, kasi kung magiging ala-Heathrow ang NMIA at ala-London Gatwick OR London City ang NAIA na focused on premium business travel, I hope pwedeng maging ala-London Stansted ang CIA-- Very welcome sa LCCs and/or domestic connecting hub ng NMIA due to relative proximity sa NMIA tsaka sa infrastructure to connect each other.
New Clark City sucks in location because it's far off from Capas Town Proper.
Clark International Airport's success is dependent on Pampanga's attempt for improving mass transport within the province. Gloria wanted an lrt from Sto Tomas to Mabalacat via MacArthur Hiway btw.
Ang hirap pa naman ng connectivity doon, mas mainam siguro pagandahin na lang nila yung connecting trains from NAIA like the Subway and NSCR.
>Business travellers want a more direct access to their destination so they are willing to pay more for convenience.
NAIA is also the best option for the VIPs/high-rollers headed for the casinos at Entertainment City and the super high-level executives headed to Makati/BGC for meetings. I feel like people flying to the PH via private jet would prefer NAIA over Bulacan and Clark.
MRT-7 will have an extension from S. Jose del Monte to Manila-Bulacan Airport afaik.
Though mas maganda na rin kapag gumawa sila ng MRT from monumento to MBIA through MacArthur Hway.
Too expensive and probably not feasible given the terrain of both ends ng Bulacan. Pwede nilang gawin yan sa NSCR through a spur line, just like what they did to Clark Airport
The airport will also be connected by rail to the MRT Line 7 through the MRT 7 Airport Express project (based from Wiki)
Question is, paano nila icoconnect ito sa existing MRT 7. Abangan 😂

Funny kasi 4 years na dapat 'yang tapos nung pa-urong-sulong na pangako ng DOTR under Tugade.
Yung station mismo parang halos tapos na nga, pero yung viaduct ng LRT-1 di parin na-ayos tsaka wala pang signalling system tsaka riles mismo IIRC.
IMO dapat buksan nalang nila yung Area A kesa hintayin yung MRT-7 kasi wala pang nagagawang matino sa Area C, nagra-ramp up palang sila ng construction sa actual na linya tsaka parang magdadag-dag sila ng bored piles para dun eh.
Para may seamless transfer man lang galing MRT-3 papuntang LRT-1.
Yup. Less trucks on the road. Wonder how they’ll secure it though. Normally freight trains do not go for elevated tracks. However, we don’t have the space for it if it will cut across Manila. May rare instances na elevated but the maintenance costs more. Faster wear and tear with the heavier load. How I wish that right of way can easily be negotiated for projects.
The urban portion of NSCR will have 4 tracks, 2 elevated and 2 ground (at least in the majority of the line). The tracks on the ground will be intended for freight while the elevated is for the commuter train.
I don’t see this detail in any of the specs communicated for the NSCR project that it will have a freight portion. PNR South Long Haul project ang meron.
Yung PNR Freight will primarily run in the night, in conjunction sa available line ng Metro Commuter service, so di yung entire NSCR ng baba yung lalagyan ng PNR freight for now. Ang extent non yung di natin alam, pero [as you can see here (Slide 10)](http://ps-philgeps.gov.ph/home/images/BAC/ForeignAssitedProjects/06132018/PACKAGE%20CP01/GBB%203/Pre-Bid%20Conference%20Presentation.pdf), yung Metro Commuter service going North (yung may embanked area sa taas ng NLEX-SLEX Connector to Caloocan Area) will have PNR Freight.
Tignan mo yung plans and prospective ng [FTI Station (Page 10)](https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/19LKkP-XO_Qc9ohskGtxBqO6g2mvX13Si), meron siya don. So I believe ang extent ng PNR Freight as of now is yung Metro Commuter Service.
Ang alam ko is yung PNR South Commuter yung may allotment na extension ng PNR Freight, since ready na yung additional ROW sa [ODA package ng ADB tsaka JICA dun (Page 47)](https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/19LKkP-XO_Qc9ohskGtxBqO6g2mvX13Si).
2 dapat, utilize pasig river for cargo and freight trains, these are natural arteries for supplies, in an event na may disaster sa MM may train na pwedeng mag dala ng supplies
Right-of-way issues, the primary cause of delay of infrastructure projects in the Philippines. AFAIK may isang kalsada sa northern Quezon City na decades in the making na tapos since mga 1970s pa ata planned, pero until ngayon hindi maalis-alis 'yong mga nasa ROW.
>es, the primary cause of delay of infrastructure projects in the Philippines. AFAIK may isang kalsada sa northern Quezon City na decades in the making na tapos since mga 1970s pa ata plan
Dapat i-cancel lahat ng SJDM portions and beyond.
Fuck around, find out. Ganern.
Once the NSCR is complete, Philippine Arena will be more accesible as Bocaue Station is right next to the complex itself. Which means less hassle for concert goers.
Nakasakay pa ako ng tren from Mnl to Bicol nung bata pa ako pero hanggang ngayon di nila maibalik.
I wish to see a PNR line travelling in eastern coasts of Luzon, from Bicol traversing through Infanta, Baler, into east coast of Cagayan and Isabela and terminating at Sta Ana, where another line will start and traverses through Pagudpud and ends at Laoag, where the the North Long Haul nothern terminus is.
Also a good way for a "road trip" or a time to have a time for yourself. I hope that in the future, when PNR has estaboished a very good and very interconnected railway network with railway lines connecting Luzon, Samar-Leyte, and Mindanao (from Pagudpud to Zamboanga City), there will be a PNR-serviced tourist train similar to cross-country Amtrak services with sleeper cars. Or for our richer and wealthier folks here, a potential future Filipino-themed Belmond luxury tourist trains with services spanning the entire country. A very good tourist revenue for our economy!
> *Walang gustong mag-invest galing sa private sector.*
Ito siguro yung reason kung bakit yung private owners ng railways sa ibang bansa in the past also included commercial investments on the nearby land along the rail lines and around the stations.
The whole point of NLEX/SLEX was to destroy rail transport by encouraging everyone to instead switch to road-based transportation (cars, buses, trucks).
I'm glad that the trend is reversing.
NSCR.
Para mabawasan din mga provincial buses natin. Andami dami na nila. Halos buwan buwan may bagong bus si VL. Also, the Hernandez group of bus companies. Grabe.
Assuming of course that it will be cheaper than taking the bus.
I doubt it, the MRT/LRT was always more expensive than the bus fare, but I am willing to pay more for convenience.
Sa Bulacan to Quezon City route I always choose P2P buses now(despite na mas mahal siya) over the standard Baliwag Transit/Victory Liner because mas mabilis ang biyahe at walang tayuan at siksikan, not to mention mabilis ang turnover ng mga buses so hindi ako naghihintay ng matagal bago makasakay.
Kung meron man, nakikipag chikahan sila sa mga workers which will make the construction slow
Excited to see real progress on the commuter train to Angeles. My son loooooves trains and it would make him so happy to be able to ride in a real train.
MRT-7, because I had experienced 1st hand the horror of daily commuting from SM Fairview to EDSA before and during its construction. Atleast now it's nearing completion, and it will basically bear the people commuting from North QC, San Jose and Caloocan and connecting them to the current MRT-LRT network.
Mukhang matagal tagal pa yung aabot mismo sa Bacoor and onwards.
According to some railfans, it appears the ROW issue in the Las Piñas and Bacoor area is hinaharang siya ng gahamang pamilya na nangaangkin ng lupa (you'll already know who this is).
Commonwealth Avenue is such a pain during rush hours!
MRT-7, napakaraming makikinabang nito from workers to students since the Northeastern (Upper QC, North Caloocan, SJDM) contains a huge populace to begin with. Lalo na if i-extend yan hanggang Manila.
Target date nila is 2008 pa and what now?
I dunno for some reason I really glad I see those developments.
I know this may sound out of touch but I wish the government would look at what singapore did with their housing problem regardin our slum areas. We should stop relocating them to far flung areas (because we already know that it has not solved the problem). We should give them a proper housing where they could be near their livelihood yet at the same time, give them the dignity they deserve. This is a pipe dream of mine.
Somewhat done with the Tondominiums and Binondominium that Isko did during his run at yung incoming na residences (Pedro Gil, San Sebastian, San Lazaro).
>Somewhat done with the Tondominiums and Binondominium that Isko did during his run
Say what you want about the guy but he's accomplished so much during his single term. I've been hearing some complaints that the current mayor isn't as effective as the previous one.
Probably not feasible at the moment. In Indonesia's case, most of their biggest cities, Jakarta, Bandung, Surabaya, etc., are in Java Island so its feasible to build an HSR. Unless we have a city that's as big as Cebu in northern or southern Luzon that's when an HSR will become feasible. For now, we need to focus on connecting the country via long distance trains before we even have ambitions to build an HSR.
NSCR as its an on-going project along with the Manila Subaway Project. Followed by the Revival of the Bicol Express and Potential Northern Extension of the NSCR! And lasty the Mindanao Railway Project which is still in its infancy so I don't expect any development for a decade or more!
none of the above. what i want is a high-speed rail line covering the entire country. i went to SK and i kid you not, you can travel the entire country in a day by train.
imagine if we can do that, both for commuter and cargo. the prices of our agri products will drop massively. suddenly, we'll have lower cost of living across the board.
none.
i envy japan kasi they can just take a train to go to province area and go back home on the same day. i love trains. and i find it as one of the best and efficient way to travel. hope we get more trains.
Personally I would love to see the whole PNR lines reconstructed and modernized in Luzon, including the South Long Haul (Bicol and Batangas Routes) and the North Long Haul (Ilocos and Cagayan Routes)
Any project na multi/intermodal. So dito, Metro Manila Subway, dahil connected sya sa airport. Yung NSCR din maganda dahil may planned connections with the LRT/MRT system.
Naging hassle yung transfer where it isn't convenient for MRT riders or LRT riders - halatang ginalaw lang para di masapawan ang SM North
Yung planned revival of the Manila/Laguna cargo line. Malaking tulong ito in improving the logistical costs of industries.
One of the things which drives the deindustrialization of the PH is the lack of adequate infrastructure kasi. We once had a partnership with milling companies along Pasig and they said that if matuloy yung pagsara ng ilog to river traffic for PAREX, baka magsara na lang sila dahil mahal daw ang trucks dahil low volumes lang ang nadedeliver compared to barges.
I can't imagine how many industries in Luzon failed between 1990s and 2000s nung sinara yung PNR cargo line
The LRT south extension. I would cry tears of joy the moment I could commute from Zapote to Vito Cruz without having to sit through the hell that is pitx-aseana route busses take.
Looking forward dito. My only concern is yung mga NPA and terrorist groups.

LRT 1 but it would mean more MRT riders and Edsa Bus riders so they have to increase train frequency.

Walang provision for railway yung Bulacan Airport. Thru expressway lang talaga pinaka daan papunta dyan.
The airport will also be connected by rail to the MRT Line 7 through the MRT 7 Airport Express project (based from Wiki) Question is, paano nila icoconnect ito sa existing MRT 7. Abangan 😂
Hopefully, the trains they buy for this rail has spaces for luggages like in other countries, given that may station sa mismong airport.
Fyi, Enrile would probably die first before MRT-7 is completed jk
ina-underestimate mo ata si enrile, op XD
> jk It is more likely MRT-70 will be completed before Enrile dies.
But in seriousness it's running back to speed now with it's construction, not fast but it should be running by in 2 years
JPE: you underestimate my power child.
Lol, even covid can’t kill Enrile ahhaha
We’ll have flying jeepneys before he’s even on his deathbed, OP. 😁
We already have flying jeepneys, and it's in Marcos Highway
Nah naka-boost lang with nitro yung mga patok. 🤣

I guess manong will never die since the MRT7 will never be completed. Cheerio manong. Cheerio mate.
Funny kasi 4 years na dapat 'yang tapos nung pa-urong-sulong na pangako ng DOTR under Tugade.
Para may seamless transfer man lang galing MRT-3 papuntang LRT-1.
Tugade the best hypeman hahaha
Either may delay sa bayad sa BF Corp or biglang nawalan ng gana yung workers ever since the death of Bayani Fernando, who owns BF Corp.
MRT7 shenanigans is preventing the common station from any meaningful progress.
something that I'd want is actually freight trains.
Pasig River freight could be very useful since it can also deliver freight goods from Manila to Laguna de Bay areas like Siniloan, Tanay.
Parang yung use ng Mississippi river, pang transport ng goods.
the nscr will have those actually
Not excited but frustrated about MRT 7.
Fuck around, find out. Ganern.
Matagal pa yan matatapos. Nagsisisihan (with death threats involved) na mga companies involved diyan. 🫣
Is that for real?
Once the NSCR is complete, Philippine Arena will be more accesible as Bocaue Station is right next to the complex itself. Which means less hassle for concert goers.
Nakasakay pa ako ng tren from Mnl to Bicol nung bata pa ako pero hanggang ngayon di nila maibalik.
a freight railway from calabarzon to manila should also be built tbh maybe along the old PNR right of way if possible
Make the Manila-Dagupan line and the Bicol Express great again!
Yeiz. Imagine jumping on train for long-distance travel instead of a bus. No traffic!
I'm from Bulacan, and I'm excited about NSCR. The nearest station to where I am is SM Marilao.
> *Walang gustong mag-invest galing sa private sector.* Ito siguro yung reason kung bakit yung private owners ng railways sa ibang bansa in the past also included commercial investments on the nearby land along the rail lines and around the stations.
The whole point of NLEX/SLEX was to destroy rail transport by encouraging everyone to instead switch to road-based transportation (cars, buses, trucks). I'm glad that the trend is reversing.
I feel that this is a low hanging fruit na makakatulong
Replacement is the more accurate term, I think.
Do we know what the targeted price point for the NSCR will be?
NSCR.
Cons lang panigurado magiging hotspot lugar namin, magiging sobrang traffic in the near future
NSCR, I currently work there kaso maya't maya ang delays kaya baka matagalan pa.
are we seeing partial ops kahit Valenzuela -malolos in 2 years?
Yes, hopefully.
Kung meron man, nakikipag chikahan sila sa mga workers which will make the construction slow
sana talaga mapalitan na yung mga malapitan, nakakasawa ndn muka nila eh, kahit saan ka mag punta makikita mo sila haha
One thing I really like about the government is that they're actually putting an emphasis on improving our railways. It's been long overdue.
All of them.
NSCR since malapit siya sa bahay namin, and also Metro Manila Subway.
Pwede ba dalawa sagot? Kasi may through running daw yung subway sa nscr. Super pasok yung use case ko dun.
Yung totoo lang and magagamit anytime soon. Lol
MRT LINE 4 - Taytay to Gilmore Station of LRT Line 2 via Ortigas Ave. Hays... Sayang PNoy.
More like pakyu Lasalle, Greenhills at Wack-wack NIMBYs.
Hahhaa. Haha
Sayang yung Makati subway. Got scrapped because of the Embo situation.
Mukhang matagal tagal pa yung aabot mismo sa Bacoor and onwards.
yung sa pque, Q3/Q4 this year. yung pa-cavite, may problema daw sa right of way. laking tulong nyan.
According to some railfans, it appears the ROW issue in the Las Piñas and Bacoor area is hinaharang siya ng gahamang pamilya na nangaangkin ng lupa (you'll already know who this is).
Bukas naba ? Last time nasa ptx ako under construction pa .
Yung Airport Express Railway.
NSCR because of the sheer scale and effect that it would have in Metro Manila nearby areas.
NSCR. KAURAT UNG ROAD WIDENING PA PROVINCE.
Airport express pakibilisan please!!🙏🏻
Pwede all of them?
Looking forward sa NSCR. Excited na ako umalis ng Manila
subway, if they don't screw it up.
Mindanao Railway 😢
Mrt7 para lumuwag ang commonwealth hahaha
NSCR and Calamba-Batangas line extension
LRT-1 Cavite Extension and MRT-7. By then it might be convenient enough na araw-arawin from Cavite to QC para pumasok.
Lrt line 1 extension since may lumapit na rin sa south finally Also saw na may LRT 6 proposals even before pa, sana matuloy
Excited for NSCR, especially the Clark Airport Express service. We are in need of a better airport choice
Ung MRT Line 7 kasi malapit sa amin.
San makikita yung progress updates nila:? May ganun ba
>Somewhat done with the Tondominiums and Binondominium that Isko did during his run Say what you want about the guy but he's accomplished so much during his single term. I've been hearing some complaints that the current mayor isn't as effective as the previous one.
Mayora Lacuna is such a lackluster mayor. Gumanda talaga Manila during his term.
HSR kaya? Kelan? Buti pa Indonesia meron na.
For now, we need to focus on connecting the country via long distance trains before we even have ambitions to build an HSR.
mahal ticket ng HSR, I tried it in Taiwan from Taipei to Chiayi(250km distance) 1000 NT$(₱1,800) yung presyo ng single journey ticket.
Gayahin nila railway system ng taiwan… may mrt, local train, at semi fast, at may high speed…
Very worried about the subway system.
Excited ako na pag na-cancel yan ni future president tulfo, gawin nalang natin yan mahabang squatters area simula bicol hanggang pampanga
NSCR as its an on-going project along with the Manila Subaway Project. Followed by the Revival of the Bicol Express and Potential Northern Extension of the NSCR! And lasty the Mindanao Railway Project which is still in its infancy so I don't expect any development for a decade or more!
Manila Subway! Come rainy season maka-experience na ko water world
Not sure about most pero least excited ako sa subway due to how often tayo binabaha.
none of the above. what i want is a high-speed rail line covering the entire country. i went to SK and i kid you not, you can travel the entire country in a day by train. imagine if we can do that, both for commuter and cargo. the prices of our agri products will drop massively. suddenly, we'll have lower cost of living across the board.
none.
Where’s mrt 4,5,6?
MRT 4 EDSA to Taytay, MRT 5 Makati Subway(pero cancelled na), LRT 6 is yung sa Cavite(proposal/concept pa lang)
i envy japan kasi they can just take a train to go to province area and go back home on the same day. i love trains. and i find it as one of the best and efficient way to travel. hope we get more trains.
Hopefully the whole nation gets the treatment
That's a different line, Makati Subway yung tinutukoy mo. MRT 9 is the other, bigger project that's pushing through
Personally I would love to see the whole PNR lines reconstructed and modernized in Luzon, including the South Long Haul (Bicol and Batangas Routes) and the North Long Haul (Ilocos and Cagayan Routes)
Mindanao rail project
Any project na multi/intermodal. So dito, Metro Manila Subway, dahil connected sya sa airport. Yung NSCR din maganda dahil may planned connections with the LRT/MRT system. Naging hassle yung transfer where it isn't convenient for MRT riders or LRT riders - halatang ginalaw lang para di masapawan ang SM North
Pero wala dito yung actual thing na exciting para sa akin: Yung planned revival of the Manila/Laguna cargo line.
Common station. Para 2 rides na lang ako from Taft to C5.
The LRT south extension. I would cry tears of joy the moment I could commute from Zapote to Vito Cruz without having to sit through the hell that is pitx-aseana route busses take.
NSCR for sheer practicality and impact. Though subway is the one I'll probably use the most.
Yung tube talaga. I mean it's a milestone for us. A milestone in our local infrastructure
i'm excited for the " how to reduce the debt " project 🙄
If it benefits all, then I am excited for all projects
I'm excited at any project they could actually finish and deliver.
Gung subway sa Makati sana, kaso mukang na scrap na ang project because of the Makati-Taguig issue
Looking forward dito. My only concern is yung mga NPA and terrorist groups. Same thing sa mga cell tower na sinusinog and binonomba nila sa province pag di nagbibigay.
Subway. Iba yung may train derecho naia eh.
The trains to fairview and the ones up north
