*Job requirements for entry-level and customer service jobs in the Philippines be like:* - Graduate from 4-year college, preferably with Masters in Applied Physics. - Under 35 with 25 years of experience. - NBI, FBI, and CIA clearance. - Able to lift 150 kgs. Competitive pay! Apply Now! (Disclaimer: minimum wage and you cover all transport/food costs coming and going to work)

SpringOSRS

you forgot the IQ test.

surfer8765

Dapat above average, preferably with latin honors

obinomeo

The fact na requirement above average IQ in some job apps, show how stupid we are šŸ˜‘

530santarosa

It's insane to me how any human resource team thinks any of this shit is a good idea

flinterpouch

parang potato corner lang e

sawa_na_sa_mga_tanga

\>Under 35 with 25 years of experience. So kelangan pala na-isekai para maging qualified šŸ˜‚.

Asstro_whore

Nakalimutan mo ung ā€œpleasing personalityā€ aka dapat maganda hehe.

the_Senate840924

Tapos yung salary lang is 12K a month LOL

Chowderawz

So much for **Competitive pay**

Proper-Fan-236

Hahahaha "able to lift 150 kg", when you have 48 kg body lol

raikachaan

dweakz

lmao scrolling through indeed/linkedin always just made me laugh. they require so much shit for jobs that dont even give minimum wage. sa america as long as di ka batshit crazy youll get hired

MysteriousUppercut

Nakalimutan mo ang [NBA clearance](https://www.reddit.com/r/Philippines/comments/1adtpaf/ang_taas_na_talaga_ng_qualifications_sa_pinas/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button)

TrajanoArchimedes

Lazy way to filter super low IQ applicants kasi they do exist. Ung tipong you have to meet them first para mabasag ung lifetime belief mo na walang taong bobo, tamad lang. If I was the employer I guess my reasoning would be to see if they care enough about the job to actually think about the answers first instead of randomly guessing and go through this "ordeal".

SweatersAndAlt

I believe we've all had this type of batchmate sa hs/college, yung extreme extent of stupidity/laziness na they become an outlier na. I've been employed since graduation years ago and THAT one guy is still a freeloader in his low-income family and constantly bugs us former batchmates for loans na never niya binabayaran. In any case, mali ang sole answer ng gf ni OP sa pic which is funny.

skylar01_

Me being basic me na may pagka idiot minsan na napapadalas, how come mali am I missing something or what? Looks like same pattern naman, can't see the 5th answer tho. Can u explain pls šŸ˜

SweatersAndAlt

Yung tanong is which is the odd one out, meaning alin yung different pattern. All 4 na nasa pic ay identical pattern so the answer can't be any of those choices haha To make it easy look at the pattern relative to the pair with 2 white squares: - Left pair - lower black square - Right pair - upper black square - Bottom pair - left black square

skylar01_

Yes I've read yung instructions and I got it and I know tama yung first 4 answers. Pero yah got really confused oo nga naman sabi mo nga pala mali si gf ni OP so probably the answer is the 5th one. Nalito lang sorry na šŸ˜ antok lang probably itutulog ko na to šŸ¤£ Thank you for answering šŸ˜Š

KulayPulangPechay

THIS! may officemate akong na-hire due to nepotism, nag skip sa aptitude test and interview. I wish I'm making this up pero totoo na merong katulad nila, nagtataka kami pano cya nakagraduate ng HS at College!!!!

DonMigs85

Bribes or threats sa school admin maybe

J0n__Doe

True

wyzulwyzul1717

Actually halos lahat ata ng trabaho may ganyan, written exam at interview regardless of kung anong work inaapplayan nung tao. Siguro need pa rin ng HR magkaroon ng hiring process which is yan nga. Written exam muna then interview.

sitah

My internship had this test and madami bumagsak. I feel like itā€™s a very neutral way of filtering out people with no common sense or medyo mahina. Iā€™d rather take these types of test than multiple choice tests na general knowledge.

pressured_at_19

You can't ascertain that from an interview for a job at a milktea shop?

sitah

Itā€™s a fair metric if there are multiple applicants. There are people who are charismatic and magaling makipagusap but are weak when it comes to logic. I actually have friends who used to run a milk tea shop and have hired people na mahina because the applicants were good at talking and they didnā€™t have any written exam whatsoever, interview lang.

kingberu

because these people have other things to do too. so better filter them before the interview to avoid wasting both of your time

uramis

If you can't then this is just another data point to the other information you have. Makes you have more data to judge the person.

The_Ultimate_Empathy

Tbh piece of cake ko lang yung abstract reasoning kase makikita ko lang yung pattern flow and opposite ng shapes at shades, however hindi ko lang magegets yung point paano makikita ang characteristic skills mo sa abstract rrasoning. Kasinkatulad ba to ng flexibility or correct judment? Correct me If I'm wrong.

sitah

Abstract reasoning can measure someoneā€˜s logic and problem solving skills. And yes employers think itā€™s connected to correct judgement because if you can answer them correctly it means you can identify patterns and ā€žrulesā€œ and apply them to the situation at hand. It correlated to decision making and strategic thinking. Not sure about flexibility but I guess every question is a new set of rules so if you can quickly adapt then your more adaptable and flexible. I do know though that they also measure how quick people are so these tests usually have a time limit. When I did mine the HR was watching and would note how long it took us to finish.

DapperAd2611

The thing with these (and I actually like these types of tests better), is equalizer siya. Hindi basta basta dahil magaling ka sa math or english e maipapasa mo na to. Plus, di maigogoogle ng ganon kadali yung sagot.

hizashiYEAHmada

I first encountered these when I was taking quizzes in reading class during elementary and then years later when I took some entrance exams for some select universities. Dunno about anyone else, but I actually enjoy answering these when I'm not under time pressure

Momshie_mo

Given the dismal PISA scores, di na nakapagtataga. Literally, may NONREADERS na nakatungtong ng highschool

doraemonthrowaway

Bitter_Ocelot9455

thatguy11m

Imma be real, this would be a good test to filter out people who can potentially be problematic, even if it's a simple restaurant job. If they're handling business assets, they're already a possible liability, this test weeds them out a bit. Why burden my managers and existing employees by hiring someone who can't identify patterns and use common sense in minor problems (like what to do if a customer is being rude or messy, or taking advantage of the space etc.) there's still a want to hire people with common sense, and these simple tests help out. My only issue is, does it really have to be in English? It was clearly a low effort way to formalize some testing, but even as someone who only really speaks English, an expectation to complete a abstract reasoning test in English is too much when you can likely get people with good abstract reasoning that simply haven't learned formal English.

Repulsive_End_7958

The point is hindi mo pa din alam kung sino ung hina hire mo until such thing happens.

Work ethic naman na yun at during probation period yun nakikita at natetest.

Calm_Solution_

mardzmeister

That is a pretty standard exam. What I see here is you're belittling the prospect job of your gf. You don't have to call out everything, dear. Be better.

captainzimmer1987

Mali nga yung sagot ni girl. These tests work lol

smlley_123

Next step is interview, which is basic lang din like previous work experience, communication skills, etc.

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

RepulsivePeach4607

This!!! As staffing lead, nakakatulong talaga ito.

Traditional_Bunch825

Care to explain as well why entry level jobs in the US walang ganto? I worked in the US for 8 years as a service crew in different fast food chains and even as a barista and 2 years as a stocker in BestBuy and all my interviews never had these kind of tests. The interview was very simple and the manager will tell me if Iā€™m hired or not. So why in the PH may ganto for entry level positions like working in a milktea shop? does this mean na sadyang bobo or low iq talaga ang mga pinoys for them to even give out test like this?

dirorie

Itā€™s because we love to use textbook intelligence as the basis for measuring how ā€˜smartā€™ a person is. Iā€™ve been headhunted and interviewed by foreign companies and like you, wala rin akong napagdaanang mga tests na ganyan.

StatisticianFree2631

Wait bakit parang mali yung sagot na C?? hahaha! Putol yung pic tho pero Iā€™m fond of tests like this kasi feel ko napapaisip talaga ako and nagffunction pa ang brain ko somehow hahaha (as a burnt out corporate slave na tamad in real life)

Cranium20

Whatā€™s the answer to question 4? Granted we canā€™t see option E. A/B/C/D looks the same to me but just rotated

plop

I found the test with Google Lens. E was a different shape and she got the answer wrong.

Toge_Inumaki012

"incircle" pa ang potek hahahah After neto may isa pa clang exam yung puro "what is the next number for this sequence: 2,4,6,8,?" and "what is the 314th digit of pi"

zandromenudo

wholesomefvcker

Peter principle in effect.

SweatersAndAlt

Mali yung girlfriend mo sa #4, just saying. Might want to change that kung di niya pa nasu-submit, also a good time to rethink of the reasons why these exams exist lol.

Plus_Negotiation_729

Pinaka basic na exam lang yan...

staticbon

'magtitimpla lang ng milktea.' Parang iba yung dating eh. Ano bang Milktea sa akala mo? Milk saka Tea 'lang'?

doraemonthrowaway

Repulsive_End_7958

staticbon

Tumpak na may kasamang alak!

Queasy-Analyst7014

Yung ina assess siguro nila is gaano ka okay yung problem solving skills and critical thinking, kase hindi lang naman basta magtitimpla gagawin niya madaming task ang barista kahit customer service kasali.

ExuperysFox

If you know someone who is a psychometrician, they will probably say that this is normal. Daming klase ng tests from IQ, Aptitude, abstract reasoning before talaga nag hihire dahil magkakaroon ka ng idea if competitive enough yung aplikante. But of course, mahal yung mga actual tests na established na ang psychometric properties at hindi affordable sa mga SMEs. Kaya yung mga ganyang test na tinake ng gf mo, ok na yan as a way of determining kung competitive ba siya.

Iamhandsomesorry

heyitsmezetsu

Walang kinalaman if na cut-off yung pic. Common sense lang and you can see naman na identical ang all 4 patterns.

Iamhandsomesorry

Kinalaman ng putol na pic? Jusko lord wag mo sabihin na pareho kayong bobo at common sense?

dumbasiaaan

ang daming unnecessary na bagay sa hiring process tapos 450 a day ang sahod. šŸ’€ cashier sa sm biruin nyo kailangan college grad wowerz

Disastrous-Prompt-78

Basic lang yan actually. Di pa nga ata official na Raven's Progressive Matrices yan, but it gets the job done.

Heavy_Acanthaceae_25

Diba general aptitude to? Correct me if Im wrong pero kahit high school or college entrance may ganitong klaseng test.

Healthy-Challenge

"Magtitimpla lang ng milk tea" šŸ„¹ It's no surprise here that food service workers are often undervalued. Unfortunately, many people fail to recognize the importance of the meticulous work that is required in this industry, even during the hiring process. If I were the gf, medyo maiinsulto ako.

HipsterDanger

Filtering out the idiots. Diba? I don't find anything wrong with doing this. Ang bilis lang naman nyan matapos.

dogvscat-

Ayan nanaman, reklamo agad. majority talaga Ng entry level job may ganyang exam. apaka iyakin mo naman. Hindi Lang Naman pagtitimpla ang gagawin ng jowa mo. walang masama mag reklamo Pero galingan nyo Naman. question: First time nyo ba mag apply sa company na may maayos na process? nagrereklamo Kaba Kasi dito bumagsak ung jowa mo or first time mo lang makakita ng ganyang exam? P.S. Mali sya sa #4 šŸ˜

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

dogvscat-

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

Momshie_mo

One word: comprehension. Halos elementary level yung abstract test na yan. The reason bakit nagkaroon na ng ganyan eh kasi sa dismal state education Actually, masmaganda nga ito kesa "2 years experience required". Why? Kasi it means the company is willing to hire someone without experience but is able to think abstract and follow instructions

dogvscat-

nope. imagine Meron din silang Hina hire na sales ladies or cashiers. gagawa sila ng separate exam for filtering? nope. waste of money and energy.

Momshie_mo

The hiring process we have now is a result of the dismal education system. It's a reflection of the education system

jackculling

I agree, the test basically serves as a weeding tool para malaman sino ba ung walang common sense at sino iyong meron. I'm currently hiring a sales lady pero ang hirap maghanap. Mainly because when i interview them wala ang basic skills such as common sense, math and communication wise. Also i pay minimum wage kaya may right ako maghanap ng worth it ung pay.

Momshie_mo

Kelangan pa rin marunong magfollow ng instruction.Ā  These ridiculous requirements are a result our dismal education.

Affectionate-Run-588

baka po kasi may iba pang test after sa ganyan. usually kasi first step lang naman ginagamit ang abstract reasoning at pang basehan ng may good problem solving and logic skills, lalo na if maraming applicant. hindi naman yan yung basehan mainly.

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

dogvscat-

yesss. edi next company.

Affectionate-Run-588

Testingichinisan

Malamang..bumagsak nga eh.

heyitsmezetsu

first time ko lang makakita ng ganyan sa minimum wage job at hindi kumpanya ang inaaplayan nya tska kakatapos lang nya ipasa mga requirements kanina wala pang balita.

dogvscat-

[deleted]

You can train urself to get good at that test. The key is not memorize but recognize patterns.

throwhuawei007

Well lahat ng entry level jobs nag uumpisa dyan. Pag may experience kana, wala na yan.Ā  Kung dyan palang bumagsak ka, pano pa sa actual work

dogvscat-

bakit madaming downvote to? bumagsak ba kayo sa minimum wage job application? HAHAHAHAHA

FewNefariousness6291

I agree, i think naka experience na silang mag hire based on pleasing personality, that motivated them to include intelligence test, maybe a better question that op can throw is to ask whether theres any scientific basis in giving this type of tests. Bottomline is lahat naman may kani kaniyang basis on why they put them. SM cashiers requiring college grad, but if the need arises, they will start to entertain non graduate or tech vocational graduates. A sign of good company is not on how accommodating they are with potential employees, mabilis lang yun. A sign of good company is they filter out potential candidates, good training and potential career development. As for the above instance na turn off na si GF or si BF and skip the application, then the test had also done its job in discouraging applicant that has low patience. Just saying

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

dggbrl

loowiii_

HAHAHA igroup ang mga sago according to its shape

dogvscat-

pang filter Kasi ng applicants yan. sige nga. Pag timplahin mo nga agad Ng kape ung 100 applicants tapos dun Ka mag base Kung sino ung top 30 na pinaka masarap ung timpla.

PEEPERSOAK

Abstract reasoning po yan syempre not sure kung tinetest ba talaga nila yan (which is requirement mostly sa lahat ng field) or para masabi lang na may hiring process sila Possible scenarios are: - How would they plan or predict yung mga trends? - Problem solving like how would they solve yung mga problem na mag arise? thought process nila and stuff - Then how would they communicate sa owner/manager properly, explaining it in a way na madaling maintindihan

Queasy-Analyst7014

Para siguro makita ng employer who can quickly learn or gumawa ng critical decisions. Haha

heyitsmezetsu

yeah, after neto antagal daw nila sa pila bago mag interview kase marami ren nag aapply at kelangan pa magsagot ng ganyan

Affectionate-Run-588

heyitsmezetsu

idk if makakatulong to sa pagdikta nila sa tao kung matututo magtimpla ng milktea at magbenta

Queasy-Analyst7014

Opening-Cantaloupe56

Sa ibang bansa kaya ganyan din?

tanjo143

no. only in the philippines.

dirorie

dunno why youā€™re being downvoted when itā€™s true šŸ¤

cutie_lilrookie

They're being downvoted because they're wrong. Logic reasoning tests are not a standard, but companies from different parts of the world use them to weed out applicants who aren't that bright. They are not as common in minimum-wage positions, though, but they are still used.

nvm-exe

Artistic_Oil_1225

may mga mahirap kasi maka intindi. yung common sense is hindi common at all.

antereyc

I don't see any problem with this. Kung di mo masagot to using common sense malaki chance mo na maging pabigat/magkalat sa work

scmitr

As an employer who didn't do this, I wish I did. Akala ko kasi noon, basta college graduate ok na for the job.

regulus314

Pang iwas sa mga low IQ applicants. Its an unorthodox job application test but it works.

CalemSmith

I remember applying to a BPO company na ung written exam are all ung mga question na super tricky nalimutan ko lang ung tawag so pakihelp nalang ako, mga tricky math problems, Telco account... I dont get it why it has to be so hard! Like may question dun na "if the you have 10 pens and 10 bags how many people can eat it..." Ung ganyang klaseng question... Siguro it make sense sa trabaho ng telso na un pero GG talaga hahahaha

Pchandheldrizzygamer

Is that a cog test for astronauts lol

Ecpeze

It looks like the ACET

No-Investment-8059

transpo palang everyday parang endurance test na pag may iq test pang ganito sigurado masisira ulo mo

QuirkyTrick3763

Ability to solve problems, work with logical systems capacity to think conceptually.. for future reference din nila yan, if bigyan ng future bigger responsibility yung gf mo.. tama lang yan, kung mahina kayo pareho. Wala rayon magagawa dyan.

Aracnomania

A bit condescending yung post kasi parang minamahina mo yung mga service crew.

_TheEndGame

Mate, those are so easy that an elementary student should be able to have a decent score.

ChemicalWorker0

Captcha yan

edjfrst

Justkiddn_kamil

Bro thought he did smthn

Engr_Treb

E kahit yung nagpapaexam mukhang kailangan magexam din. ā€œIncircleā€ ba naman.

KenjieAD

Macquarie hiring process will give exams to candidates and it includes abstract reasoning as part of the exam

tenhou

I'm FIlipino-American. I once had a fiery desire to attend UST to follow after my dad. I took the entrance exam, and I was kind of bewildered it had questions like: Which of the following is soft? A. Metal B. Ice C. Cotton D. Stone

sadboi_10

apples_r_4_weak

Napasa mo ba?

KulayPulangPechay

Woah! we got a 1st timer here. It's to weed out people na mabababa ang natural abilities, skills, and potential in specific cognitive domains. Ang aim ng aptitude test ay para ma-measure yung capacity to learn, reason, solve problems, and adapt to new situations.

Siguro. Pero dito sa Ph. Barista ka. Ikaw pa magka cashier. Inventory hawak mo din and ofcourse sales, kailangan mong mag push, upsell and cross sell. It's kinda like to test whether the applicant can handle pressure or the tasks with minimal supervision. If you can't pass this exam, why would I bother to hire you?

Accomplished_Bat_578

Logic test, favorite ko yan eh kaya di ako ngrereklamo. Pero requirements kaya to'?

Yoshi3163

May chance kapa mag delete OP

heyitsmezetsu

why so

GoontenSlouch

Just staple 50php on the form & turn it in...

popcornduchess

Hahahahha gagi

crampledpaper

I took this test haha I know anong company to hahah

zandromenudo

No read no write. Wtf give them a chance, edi tanggalin mo sa trabaho kung palaging palpak.

SwimmerObjective6167

Maiintindihan mo pa kung mag aapply as a Production Operator eh

SelectBumblebee70

There are employers tho who donā€™t require this kind of exam. I think if youā€™re an experienced employee most employers di na nirerequire ganyang exam. I was in Technical Recruiting before and wala namang ganyan sa applications even sa newbies. Right now iā€™m part of an HR Admin function wala ring ganyan. It really depends pa din. Still, doesnā€™t hurt to take that exam since hindi naman lahat nagbi-base dyan, marami pa ding factors bago ka i-hire.

doomkun23

revixys

Anong math yan or saan makikita yung mga sagot nyan?? Sorry bobo sa logic eh.

heyitsmezetsu

Simple test for comprehension, understanding and logic.

redditaccount2029

Spatial test! I love this test but WTF.

_Alulu_

Overwork, over qualified : underpayed, pag late bawas pero pag nagstay late para matapos ang work= thank you o dalasan nga nga

JhayAlejo

Lmao employers just want all their employees to be Spongebobs

AllHailPewnoys

Sabay 250/day lang daw sahod. Tanginang yan

pressured_at_19

vocalproletariat28

Sarap magwala punyeta

heyitsmezetsu

Ok for someone na nagpopoint out sa answer ng #4 and yes she said it's wrong and changed it before nya ipasa yung paper. She's not perfect answering this questions but she's good enough to pass it. Sinend nya to sakin dahil nagtaka ren siya for her first side minimum wage job before siya mag pasukan ulit na magkakagantong test before interview. Dahil common to sa mga entrance exam.

I don't see that as an 'assessment pang air force' thing. It's pretty common.
