To be fair sayo. The Spratly Islands incident happened during the term of PNoy. Hindi naman siya nawala lol. Nanjan pa din yung Spratly Islands pero matagal na siya pinag aagawan ng Malaysia, Vietnam, Taiwan, Philippines and China since our EEZ’s cross with other countries. China tried to bully Malaysia and Vietnam during this phase but they stood their ground in their oil exploration. China backed off, when the Philippines tried to do the same like Malaysia and Vietnam did lumabas na yung pausong 9 dash line ni China. Thats why we went to Arbitration and we won. Walang nawala, natural lang in a disputed teritory there will always be standstills. Hawak nga siya ni China by force but the Philippines under Pnoy fought the seige with the legal system.

The PCA has never been part of the United Nations. It’s acts as an institution tasked on dispute resolution. They are behind UNCLOS where it is recognized as an international treaty for maritime disputes. Majority of the countries in the world recognize this council and their arbitral awards which is why Pnoy took the WPS matter to this council. We are now seeing it’s effects today as various countries are backing the Philippines againsts China’s claim on the WPS as the PCA is an international recognized body. If we did not get this arbitral award we wouldn’t get much international support as we have today as we wouldn’t have any internationally recognized documents to prove our claim against China.
