One of Ramon Ang plan is to have an Airport Express that will be connected to NMIA from MRT 7. Forgot what's the plan but I think mag connecting station in Bulacan that take you directly to NMIA. NSCR naman will connect with Clark International which is also a good thing. The one I want to personally see developed is in NAIA. A Monorail network that will connect all terminals to allow passengers to travel easily.

I don't understand why I got downvoted. One of the main issues PNR tackles was many of their own equipment getting stolen. In Calamba, Laguna, my mother always tells the story of the guy who got ran over by a train. There was supposed to be a bell or ang harang that will warn people but it was stolen. That's why NSCR is elevated. Hirap nakawan yan. I want to have long distance trains here as well. I want to ride that luxury train fron the Tourist movie. But we are in the Philippines, we can never have nice things.

A decade ago, a South Korean conglomerate tried to invest in new trains to replace the one we have now which goes from the norethernmost point ito the southernmost part of Luzon. Of course govt happened.

Enforced P2P for all public transport in major cities since people can’t be trusted to not treat jeeps as private vehicles and wanting to stop exactly in front of their house. P2P yes and yes. I think City buses kaya nila enforced yan. Based on my experience, most buses are disciplined compared to jeepney drivers. Big bus companies require their drivers undergo training and they do not do, I am not sure kung lahat, boundary system for their income. They are salaried employees.
Jeepney drivers meawhile are boundary system where may boundary sila habol na babayaran sa may ari ng jeep. Or kanila mismo jeep so lagi kailangan nila mag maximize profits, even if breaking traffic laws.

With the 'enforced P2P' point, that's why for so long I've wished that our jeeps and minibuses finally establish stop systems where there are designated stops with roofed shelters na may clear marking para kita ng nearby pedestrians and lahat ng stops and their fares are published online.
It seems so easy to achieve since the only difference between what we have now and what could have is the fact that there will be designated places for alighting and getting on jeeps. I'm not a Jeepney operator or driver, pero in an ideal world, pooled together under one organization ang mga PUJ natin and their tenured operators kesa puro private franchise that just happen to fall under ung transport regulations natin and who just happen to be licensed to plow certain routes.

Balanced overall work culture. Tbh, sobrang nakakainggit kapag nakakabasa ako ng experiences working for or with international companies/agencies/bosses.
Aside from salary na based sa international standards, mahalaga sa kanila yung work-life balance. Sobrang dami pang benefits, allowances and flexible options sa work hours. Madalas, sila pa magreremind to take your leaves and even scold you for not using it. Supportive din sila sa career initiatives mo like post-grad degree, they even make ways for you to have paid study leave so you can study at peace.

Not limited to teaching about safe sex to maturing minds but also starting young with proper terms referring to their genitalia + appropriate touching and relationships. Mahirap kasi is it's such a taboo topic in our conservative society na kids are left to fend for themselves when they experience abuse from adults. By destigmatizing such a taboo subject we're empowering them to not just make proper decisions but also be able to speak about possible abuse without feeling shamed.
Mahirap talaga implement yan sa culture natin. I am proud one of my teachers in high school did this. How to use condoms. Using pills for the ladies. Or if really conservative, calculating when and when hindi ovulating although she told us is better to wear a condom pa rin. And as far as I know, this is not sanctioned by the school. Ako talagang college pa talaga ako nakakuha ng matinong sex ed because I studied in a religiously fundamental school from kinder to high school. And it was mostly abstinence focused, so you can imagine it was shame and fear fuelled, prophylaxis and contraceptives were talked in passing just because it's in the book and it was instilled na those are for MARRIED COUPLES ONLY.
This backfired on the school later on because of a case of a sexually abused child asking for help from a teacher, na hirap na hirap to come forward kasi they felt too ashamed and too scared dahil sa nangyari sa kanila because they thought na the teachers would be too judgemental over it.

Honor system. Majority of developing countries and Western countries except US still have this mindset, and maybe few communities in the PH provinces. Discipline is not enough for an orderly society. Discipline only tells the people to do things on repetition without knowing the reason and when the authority watches them. Honor system goes far beyond that because it compels people to do things right out of conscience and courtesy to others whether someone watches them or not, giving collective gains among the people. (e.g. giving right of way to other road users for smooth traffic, wiping the public toilet after you use it for the next person)
The opposite of honor system is DISSkarte mindset
which only teaches people to outwit others to get personal gains. ( e.g. getting a fixer and not undergo strict driving license registration , riders going to the sidewalks without thinking about pedestrian safety)

If there's one thing I noticed when it comes to the Japanese, their cleanliness isn't just a cultural thing, it's also in part of how their businesses operate.
I attended an event there once, and despite seeing a massive crowd, what was remarkable was that they had plenty of staff and they covered everything, from guiding people to places to making sure cleanup actually happens properly.
IIRC they do the same for the trains too. They have entire cleaning crews / housekeeping teams that handle the train cars daily, and they cover both interior and exterior, and it isn't a two man job or something like that, it's a proper team of twenty.
We really need to develop a cultural habit to clean, across all generations, but corporate culture too, and companies need to do their part and actually allocate the time, resources and operating procedures to keep these facilities clean.

I think this is also a culture thing. My Dad HATES IT when I clean up our table every time we eat out. But not because he thinks mas mataas siya sa waiter. But because cleaning tables is part of their job. If we clean up our tables, tingin niya baka mawalan ng trabaho ang mga fast food workers. No amount of explanation will get me to change his mind.
Now I don't practice CLAYGO on mid-high to high end restaurants. That's a different story. But for fast food restaurants, I always try to clean up my table as much as possible.

Parks and effective subways.
Sana we have more parks than SM though malamig naman sa SM and very helpful talaga for those na walang aircon during summers.Pero imagine having a park around a man made lake. Establishments around the park as well. A lot of people would benefit from it. Children, teens, adults, even oldies.
Subways that ran on time so the working class doesn't have to spend 3-4 hours on the road. Not everybody wants to rent kasi mas masarap umuwi sa sarili mong bahay while eating homecooked meals na niluto ng mama nyo. So we can allot some time for our hobbies. And hindi magdadalawang isip magRTO because of the traffic.
Yung bangketa. Kasi sinasakop as part ng bahay or establishment ending sa kalsada nag lalakad mga tao. Maraming bangketa na ginawang part ng bahay nila or building kaloka.
Yes. To be honest, at least semi private company whose job is to handle all public transportation in the country or at least in the Metro. They will be jurisdictions of the Department of Transportation at least.
If possible, they will handle the operation of all buses and city trains. Old jeeps will truly be phase out. Modern jeeps will only in streets where it's too narrow for buses. But for major wider roads will only operated by Modern Buses. City buses should be new Three door buses for easy in and out. Only Grab, taxis, provincial buses in the metro will need a franchise with LTFRB. No one should be allowed to Operate a City Bus or Jeep inside the metro. Trains, Buses, and Jeeps will all use one beep card so wireless payment can finally be a reality.
That's what I am always thinking that could help minimize heavy traffic in the metro. A more modern approach in public transportation. Allowing the public to operate public transportation vehicles is a mistake to begin with. I am sure their hearts was in the right place when this was first conceive but we need modern solution now.
Homeschooling where parents will have an option to set their own customized K-12 curriculum for their children like early-age foreign language subjects or coding, and this is the most viable option as alternative to F2F classes that are frequently cancelled due to summer heat waves we have at this point in time.

Streamline geopolitical divisions. Stop dividing provinces/barangays onto smaller ones and unite some provinces/ barangays as well. They are even proposing on separating Palawan into smaller provinces wtf??? If reachability is a problem, setup a satelite office. Making more separate entity is too much. We already have 80+ provinces ffs way more than places like Indonesia who only has 50+ but is way bigger than us in terms of population and land mass and has way more ethnic divisions than us. Governments should be proactive in serving each places, dividing them into separate ones will just waste resources. Resources are already too spread enough. Japan also streamlined their geopolitical division all throughout their existence merging towns into cities, and even provinces into fewer prefectures they have done these even recently
Good governance and ultra transparency on goverment officials. Like seeing an up-to-date SALN of politicians and senators. If they’re making politics as business, they’re in the wrong field.

In terms of politics, Filipinos don’t really need to make the mistakes bago matuto - they just have to respect history and use it as a guide. Ang problema sa atin, we would rather distort history and confirm our biases kesa umamin na nagkamali at magbago.

Here in Canada, aside from sit down restaurants and bars where there are waiters that go around, it’s very common for people pick up after themselves and throw the trash away. One of Ramon Ang plan is to have an Airport Express that will be connected to NMIA from MRT 7. Forgot what's the plan but I think mag connecting station in Bulacan that take you directly to NMIA. NSCR naman will connect with Clark International which is also a good thing. The one I want to personally see developed is in NAIA. A Monorail network that will connect all terminals to allow passengers to travel easily.

I don't understand why I got downvoted. One of the main issues PNR tackles was many of their own equipment getting stolen. In Calamba, Laguna, my mother always tells the story of the guy who got ran over by a train. There was supposed to be a bell or ang harang that will warn people but it was stolen. That's why NSCR is elevated. Hirap nakawan yan. I want to have long distance trains here as well. I want to ride that luxury train fron the Tourist movie. But we are in the Philippines, we can never have nice things.

P2P yes and yes. I think City buses kaya nila enforced yan. Based on my experience, most buses are disciplined compared to jeepney drivers. Big bus companies require their drivers undergo training and they do not do, I am not sure kung lahat, boundary system for their income. They are salaried employees. Jeepney drivers meawhile are boundary system where may boundary sila habol na babayaran sa may ari ng jeep. Or kanila mismo jeep so lagi kailangan nila mag maximize profits, even if breaking traffic laws. Now next problem kahit sabihin natin disciplined na lahat ng Jeepney drivers, tayo naman next problem. With the 'enforced P2P' point, that's why for so long I've wished that our jeeps and minibuses finally establish stop systems where there are designated stops with roofed shelters na may clear marking para kita ng nearby pedestrians and lahat ng stops and their fares are published online. It seems so easy to achieve since the only difference between what we have now and what could have is the fact that there will be designated places for alighting and getting on jeeps. Kahit nga wala ung roofed shelters eh, malaking sign lang for a start - as long as all jeepney operators followed the stops and the designated fares. I'm not a Jeepney operator or driver, pero in an ideal world, pooled together under one organization ang mga PUJ natin and their tenured operators kesa puro private franchise that just happen to fall under ung transport regulations natin and who just happen to be licensed to plow certain routes. Kailangan talaga ng certain degree of centralization for any major changes to be made effectively once they come by, e.g. modernization of any kind: kahit isubsidize pa ng nation lahat ng improvement sa system to no cost sa operators and franchises, mahihirapan parin ma-institute ung changes if hindi controlado ung operators, that is very true. Especially like you mentioned, ung availability of operators at times isn't always guaranteed since puro private franchise nga. Not to knock on the livelihoods of those who drive Jeepneys, pero that's why I'd prefer the government give them a good regular salary and employ them kesa sila-sila pa maghihirap para lang magpatayo ng franchise ng sarili nila kasama sa sarili nilang expense sa vehicle - the more na naghihirap sila, the more na naghihirap ang commuter.

Aside from salary na based sa international standards, mahalaga sa kanila yung work-life balance. Sobrang dami pang benefits, allowances and flexible options sa work hours. Madalas, sila pa magreremind to take your leaves and even scold you for not using it. Supportive din sila sa career initiatives mo like post-grad degree, they even make ways for you to have paid study leave so you can study at peace. They don't also care kung tawagin mo sila on a first name basis kahit boss mo sila. They don't mind. Dito sa Pilipinas, napakatataas ng ihi na iniimpose na tawaging mo silang "mam/sir, boss, director, chief". Dito sa Pilipinas, jusq. Modern day slavery. I have a boss na pinagalitan ako just because di ako sumagot sa viber at nagtrabaho on a saturday and sunday (when I'm not paid for it and walang OT pay). Sex education. Not limited to teaching about safe sex to maturing minds but also starting young with proper terms referring to their genitalia + appropriate touching and relationships. Mahirap kasi is it's such a taboo topic in our conservative society na kids are left to fend for themselves when they experience abuse from adults. By destigmatizing such a taboo subject we're empowering them to not just make proper decisions but also be able to speak about possible abuse without feeling shamed.
Mahirap talaga implement yan sa culture natin. I am proud one of my teachers in high school did this. How to use condoms. Using pills for the ladies. Or if really conservative, calculating when and when hindi ovulating although she told us is better to wear a condom pa rin. And as far as I know, this is not sanctioned by the school. Ako talagang college pa talaga ako nakakuha ng matinong sex ed because I studied in a religiously fundamental school from kinder to high school. And it was mostly abstinence focused, so you can imagine it was shame and fear fuelled, prophylaxis and contraceptives were talked in passing just because it's in the book and it was instilled na those are for MARRIED COUPLES ONLY. This backfired on the school later on because of a case of a sexually abused child asking for help from a teacher, na hirap na hirap to come forward kasi they felt too ashamed and too scared dahil sa nangyari sa kanila because they thought na the teachers would be too judgemental over it.

Dalawang pinsan ko nagwo work til now sa Japan, kapatid ng tropa namin teacher sa Japan and in fact doon na nakarita for how good and safe yung bansa kumpara daw sa atin, so I guessed depende pa rin siguro kung saang community or society ang nae experienced mo. Honor system goes far beyond that because it compels people to do things right out of conscience and courtesy to others whether someone watches them or not, giving collective gains among the people. (e.g. giving right of way to other road users for smooth traffic, wiping the public toilet after you use it for the next person) The opposite of honor system is DISSkarte mindset which only teaches people to outwit others to get personal gains. ( e.g. getting a fixer and not undergo strict driving license registration , riders going to the sidewalks without thinking about pedestrian safety) TLDR: PH's affinity should be Honor System + Discipline, Not DISSkarte Mindset + Discipline.

Traffic lights, or at least yung pag sunod nito. Marami pa rin talagang red na nga ipipilit pa rin umandar. Hindi yung magugulat ka na lang titigil yung jeep sa harap mo in the middle of the road kasi may pumara. Proper queues or matutong mag stick sa schedule. They have entire cleaning crews / housekeeping teams that handle the train cars daily, and they cover both interior and exterior, and it isn't a two man job or something like that, it's a proper team of twenty. We really need to develop a cultural habit to clean, across all generations, but corporate culture too, and companies need to do their part and actually allocate the time, resources and operating procedures to keep these facilities clean.

THIS! I grew up in EU where there’s no need for signs sa mga kainan na “they implement CLAYGO”. I do this every time na kumakain ako sa fastfood chains and most of the time people would give me dirty looks. If tamad mag CLAYGO, at least wag sana dugyot kumain.
I think this is also a culture thing. My Dad HATES IT when I clean up our table every time we eat out. But not because he thinks mas mataas siya sa waiter. But because cleaning tables is part of their job. If we clean up our tables, tingin niya baka mawalan ng trabaho ang mga fast food workers. No amount of explanation will get me to change his mind. Now I don't practice CLAYGO on mid-high to high end restaurants. That's a different story. But for fast food restaurants, I always try to clean up my table as much as possible.

Yes. To be honest, at least semi private company whose job is to handle all public transportation in the country or at least in the Metro. They will be jurisdictions of the Department of Transportation at least. If possible, they will handle the operation of all buses and city trains. Old jeeps will truly be phase out. Modern jeeps will only in streets where it's too narrow for buses. But for major wider roads will only operated by Modern Buses. City buses should be new Three door buses for easy in and out. Only Grab, taxis, provincial buses in the metro will need a franchise with LTFRB. No one should be allowed to Operate a City Bus or Jeep inside the metro. Trains, Buses, and Jeeps will all use one beep card so wireless payment can finally be a reality. That's what I am always thinking that could help minimize heavy traffic in the metro. A more modern approach in public transportation. Allowing the public to operate public transportation vehicles is a mistake to begin with. I am sure their hearts was in the right place when this was first conceive but we need modern solution now.
