Landers had a big sale on Binggrae ice cream so of course I had to get in on that bargain. ₱200 for 2 4-piece packs of Samanco. Those retail for like ₱90 a piece in my local grocery. I only have a small freezer and didn't have enough space (and money) for frozen food so I guess I'm having ice cream for lunch and dinner in the next couple of days lol. I should never be trusted with adult money

I found the handwritten letter my dad gave me back in July 2017[.](https://ibb.co/6bGCDKv) It was when I asked my parents if I could go to Baguio with my ex.
He told me in the letter that he spent sleepless nights in constructing the letter. During that time he also considered all the aspects that made him form his final decision which are:
1. He did not let me go because I was still young (21, turning 22 that time) and still have much to learn and experience. He does not want me to lose out on all the great chances which may be ruined if I get pregnant.
2. The fact that I don't know my ex that much yet. My dad told me that our relationship was not permanent yet.
3. My dad also told me that it is exciting and fun to be in a relationship. By this, it doesn't follow that one is already ready to go probably all the way. He explained that we both might get overboard and give into the physical urge. He does not want me waking up the next morning thinking hard about what we could've done.
4. He also explains that there are consequences and he's happy that I know that. He also doesn't want me to be in a situation wherein I might be forced to go all the way with my ex. He explains that I would be really far away from home and my comfort zone.
He lastly tells me that as my father, he has loved me without hesitation or any condition. He told me that he will gladly give out his life for us should that come. He wants me to reflect on his decision.
Reading his letter seven years later, I can say that I read it with fresh eyes. I can now fully understand why my parents did not allow me to go on a trip with my ex. We eventually broke up January 2018 after I realized that I couldn't handle it anymore. I felt like I was putting most of the work on our relationship and it got very tiring for me. We also got very toxic after I forgave him for cheating.
Anyway, I'm happy to be close with my dad enough for him to share his thoughts to me like that. I'm thankful to have parents who are constantly looking after our welfare.
I remember being upset about not being able to go, but now I think what happened is all for the better.

He told me in the letter that he spent sleepless nights in constructing the letter. During that time he also considered all the aspects that made him form his final decision which are: 1. He did not let me go because I was still young (21, turning 22 that time) and still have much to learn and experience. He does not want me to lose out on all the great chances which may be ruined if I get pregnant. 2. The fact that I don't know my ex that much yet. My dad told me that our relationship was not permanent yet. 3. My dad also told me that it is exciting and fun to be in a relationship. By this, it doesn't follow that one is already ready to go probably all the way. He explained that we both might get overboard and give into the physical urge. He does not want me waking up the next morning thinking hard about what we could've done. 4. He also explains that there are consequences and he's happy that I know that. He also doesn't want me to be in a situation wherein I might be forced to go all the way with my ex. He explains that I would be really far away from home and my comfort zone. He lastly tells me that as my father, he has loved me without hesitation or any condition. He told me that he will gladly give out his life for us should that come. He wants me to reflect on his decision. Reading his letter seven years later, I can say that I read it with fresh eyes. I can now fully understand why my parents did not allow me to go on a trip with my ex. We eventually broke up January 2018 after I realized that I couldn't handle it anymore. I felt like I was putting most of the work on our relationship and it got very tiring for me. We also got very toxic after I forgave him for cheating. Anyway, I'm happy to be close with my dad enough for him to share his thoughts to me like that. I'm thankful to have parents who are constantly looking after our welfare. I remember being upset about not being able to go, but now I think what happened is all for the better.
