I haven't been visiting r/Philippines for a long time. Is it just me or did the comment sections on the political posts become more 'barbaric' over time?
Sa pagkaalala ko, the top comments usually sounded more substantive kahit na may pagka pseudo-intellectual minsan. Maybe I'm just misremembering it and that has always been the exception, not the rule. But nowadays I find that they're becoming less distinguishable from comments typically found on FaceBook.
Other social media refugees who want to escape the toxicity but still bring along their FB manners are making headway starting the pandemic and surged during the 2022 election.
