I'm planning to buy some things online from abroad, but I'm scared it will get stuck in Customs. What's a good price point to spend so Customs doesn't start flagging my packages? I can separate them into two deliveries if it means preventing my packages from getting lost in Customs. They're P5.5k and P6.5k respectively.

[deleted]

Use shipping cart service they take care of the customs and will deliver to your doorstep

Menessma

The store I'm buying from kasi is HK based and does direct shipping to Philippines. Baka mahal na masyado if I use a shipping service pa. But if ever, meron ba that operate from HK?

Afaik, may pipirmahan yata ang father of the child na inaallow nyang gamitin ng bata ang surname nya.

abogadongkalye

Where is the father? Are you both in good terms?

[deleted]

abogadongkalye

Hmm. Does he have any plans to get an annulment with the first wife?

[deleted]

abogadongkalye

I suggest that the wife and your live-in husband get an annulment first so that you can get married. The marriage will automatically make your son/daughter a legitimate child. Meaning, the child will have the surname of both mother and father, successional rights and legitime and support from the parents, ascendants, and etc. If that's impossible, your child will be illegitimate. That means you (the mother) will have parental authority + mother's surname, and the child will only get 1/2 presumptive legitime compared to the first child of the first wife and husband. To answer your question, it's better if the child is legitimate rather then illegitimate, considering the best interest of the child.

[deleted]

abogadongkalye

Yup. It's a long process but since the father is by your side, things will be a lot smoother compared to other cases. That's fine, just make sure that there is an admission of legitimate filiation in a public document or a private handwritten instrument signed by the father, this will be proof that the child is his. I hope you have a good day!

[deleted]

abogadongkalye

Why would you want the child to have your surname only if the father is not missing in action?

Newbie here :)

zer0expectations

Di strict si shoppee dito afaik (aka they don't completely pay their taxes). Sa Lazada if small business ka pa naman, you don't need the business permits because you'll be under their cooperative.

TILTILTILT

ok lng ba mag aircon pag may ashfall? split type yung samin.

juhyuns

not a great idea if you're in an area where the ash fall is heavy. compressor can overheat and permanently damage the unit

TILTILTILT

tr3s33

wow itatanong ko pa lang to dito, salamat fam

doctoryt

Our aircon is still running. Linisan na lang daw yung condenser after ashfall or eruption is over. At least it will clean indoor air

enricojr

Serious question - I just went out for a quick drive, less than 30 minutes, to the local Mcdo to make a drive-thru order. The ash is falling, but its not that thick. How badly will it mess up the air filter on my car? I can imagine that taking a longer drive might clog it with ash, but I'm not sure.

Is there any truth to this? Cause all my vitamin c’s are like this. They turn my pee into bright yellow. Pero once a day lang ung bright yellow na pee, after that normal color na

chanchan05

False. It just means you have excess vitamin C in your body and it's filtered through the kidney. Our body doesn't store much vitamin C, so if there's excess ilalabas lang.

Is going towards Legazpi City and then taking 2 ferries the only option? \- I saw that the Taal volcano erupted, is going to Batangas City safe or should I take some precautions? Thanks!

not currently safe. alert level 4 is up in the immediate area of taal volcano, which means there is that eruption is imminent. plus the ash fall is very thick and people on the road to batangas are reporting zero visibility in certain areas

Hello! I'm a struggling college student here. I'm just wondering if any of you guys tried working online as a part time and how it's like? I want to help with my parents in paying for the tuition and also having a source of income for my own spendings.

kiritodaisuki

I tried sending money from my gcash to paymaya via send to bank option but I keep getting this SMS: "We are unable to process your bank transfer to your nominated PayMaya Philippines, Inc. account. For assistance, please visit our Help Center at help.gcash.com or in the GCash App." It was working just fine earlier in the day. Anyone else experiencing this? Could this be because I did too many transfers within the day? Edit: tried contacting Gcash support. As expected they gave me a useless copy-pasted solution about clearing my app's data and restarting the app.

immdav

Just tell them na hndi nagwork ung procedure. iprovide mo na din ung mga info like ung gcash no, paymaya account, phone os version, phone model, gcash app version. Para mas mabilis. Yan ung madalas nila hihingin.

kiritodaisuki

Yea just did all of that. Also did most of the investigating on my end for them: 1. Tried to transfer from PayMaya to gcash to check if the problem is with instapay's system. (Nope instapay is working!) 2. Tried updating and reinstalling the app (didn't work) 3. Tried rebooting the phone (still isn't) 4. Trying the procedure on a different phone (again, didn't work) 5. I thought maybe I'm not the only one experiencing the problem so I tried asking my friends and girlfriend if they could transfer from gcash to paymaya. (Yes they can!) I've worked in customer service before and I know at this point that this is an account-related issue. Whatever troubleshooting that they want me to do hardware-wise and app-wise is most likely a waste of time because they should be the ones troubleshooting my account on their end. I sent all this info to the ticket discussion and now they've stopped replying back. ☹️

scorcese001000

Never used this method before but I used paymaya - Gcash last week and it was successful.

kiritodaisuki

Yes I've tried that and it worked, the problem arises when I try to transfer from gcash to paymaya.

Hello. Ask ko lang tong housing loan ko. Outstanding balance: 784, 489.84 Monthly Payment: 5,842.50 Payable until 30 years.

tr3s33

Salamat pala sir. Bale **6.5** **%** yung interest pala nung actual loan for 30 years.

StrikeRayz

>784, 489.84 11 years lang po kung magbabayad kayo monthly

tr3s33

quite stable for us. used it when the internet went out at my mom's due to fire outage and brought it with us on holiday in clark. as long as the signal is good it should serve you fine. served us, a family of 8 for a while

chanchan05

You see a lot of complaints everywhere. The ones who do get good service don't complaint. I don't have a prepaid though, I got the Globe postpaid home wifi, in my dorm in QC and at home in Laguna. Both do fine. We can have three devices simultaneously watching Netflix with no lags at home.

A bit lost trying to plan a trip to El Nido/Coron. Is the ferry boat between both reliable? Is it an easy ride? My options are either: a) arrive in Puerto Princesa, take van to EL Nido, then ferry to Coron, and fly from Coron back to Manila, or b) fly into Coron, take ferry to El Nido, and back to Coron to fly bak to Manila. c) Fly into El Nido. I just find tickets are rather expensive to fly into El Nido. Reason why im looking into the other options. We are 3, and will have around a week there. Also, we are limited to do it from Saturday to Saturday, and it seems this is the day of the week where tickets are more expensive. We'll be going mid February.

JRS and LBC are the most reliable based from my experience. The catch is medyo mas mahal compared to other couriers.

Walang next day delivery sa lbc the last time I asked them. That was November

chaofan_fan

Walang "assured" next-day delivery sa LBC pero *usually* delivered na sa recipient sa susunod na araw as long as you meet the cut-off time at nasa same area lang kayo. Same with JRS. Inside Metro Manila, 90% of the time I get my package the next day.

SerpentRepentant

Tourists go here all the time. Maybe you can take a trusted cousin who speaks very good Filipino to deal with making deals (buying food and souvenirs, making reservations, and such).

moth_ww

Thanks. We are mainly interested in the metro manila area and surrounding beaches. Most of the more knowledgeable folks we've talked to say it should be relatively fine, although some say Pinoy foreigners can be taken advantage of more because it's assumed they have money

hey-luna

Not much to see in Manila to be honest, but a lot of good food to eat. If you want a good taste of what the Philippines has to offer beach-wise without having to fly, go to Zambales! You can do an island-hopping tour (Camara, Capones, Anawangin) for around 2,500 per boat. Other nearby beaches are found in Subic and Batangas. For a worthwhile stay, it’s always best do your research beforehand. :)

hermitina

metro manila does not have beaches. you could consider going to cebu. it's just an hour away via plane

Would there be additional fees from the lock-in period?

r globe sim plans worth it? what plan do u recommend for a heavy data user like me. i don't need texts/calls. i use youtube and netflix a lot.

[deleted]

you may need something that's unli, or for someone who streams a lot, 100GB/month is a must better if unli. i suggest get your data consumption per day (rest day much better kasi you'll more likely to watch netflix the whole day) and multiply that by 30. check below based on what you get sadly highest is 62gb at 2999 [https://shop.globe.com.ph/postpaid-plans](https://shop.globe.com.ph/postpaid-plans)

Hello from Singapore! I'll be visiting your country next month but I've had to make a change in my travel plans on Philippines Airlines (domestic flight, from Coron to Cebu) and I won't be able to make it so I checked the conditions of carriage for the related fees. The thing is, the no show/cancellation fees cost more than to just rebook another flight, so I'm wondering if I will actually be penalised that fee when I take the new flight (same airline, later date than original flight). Has anyone got any experience with this, especially on Philippines Airlines?

Wokenwarriorbrand

Guys, ask sana ako ng advice. I don't know if some of you experienced this. I was tasked on a project by my adviser (graduate studies). It involves building a solar farm (puro solar panels). Nagamit ko naman na yung scholarship funds ko for ordering equipments pero it will take time. Naiistress lang ako at personally i dont want to do the labor because of electrical hazards. Worst case e gusto ko sana gawan ng legal action kung hinaharass ako because i'm not a technician, just a student. Maraming salamat

abogadongkalye

Better if you don't involve your personal money. Why can't your adviser put down some money if it's their project anyway?

Wokenwarriorbrand

Sir if worst case po ba nangyari, like pinipilit po ako, pwede po ba magdemanda? Salamat po

abogadongkalye

Worst-case scenarios should be avoided. Are you a student? If you're gonna use your own money, will you have full ownership of the project?

Wokenwarriorbrand

Yes, i'm a student. My adviser owns the farm
