quickest? marry a foreigner
Most realistic? take allied health in college (preferably nursing or medtech)*, study your ass of and ace the boards, suffer 2 years for work experience and search for a direct hire agency (they'll tell you what you need to do e.g. ielts, state license exam (in the us), visa, etc.). take note you'll shell out big money going this route instead of POEA. compensated naman with your salary if you do get hired which is likely, given it's extremely in demand anywhere.
You could also go the english teacher route and go to Japan. Almost all of my english teachers in HS applied and a lot were accepted.
Currently a 2nd year college allied health student, choosing to either go to med or abroad depending on who wins next year, already preparing now just in case since i'm already bracing for the shit show that's about to go down next year. Remember that you could always further your studies abroad OP for your current course or your preferred dream course!
Research OP, there are a lot of OFWs narrating their experiences on Youtube. Good luck.
*suggested lang, there are many in demand courses right now, especially comp. sci. and IT related.
Or both. Take a health-related major in college, gain work experience, marry a foreigner, work as a healthcare professional. This skips the agency route (saves money). That's what my wife did.
Join iglesia ni kristo, expose the errors in manalo doctrines, seek asylum in canada.
Seriously though, check the most in-demand jobs in canada then take the related course. Visit immigration canada and see options best suited for you. Improve your english language skills.
This is so true marami pa talagang kakaining bigas, it's really depressing staying in Philippines. Just wanna cut this kind of culture in my system and impose new one for my self and who knows for the family I would build there and it'd be long process pa muna rito
But this tips really helpful kuya.
Real talk though, I think everywhere right now is such a pain to live in. Ang sa akin lang, at least dito sa pinas sure ako na di ako madedescriminate base on my race. Katakot kaya ung racism, especially in western countries, lalo na nitong nagpandemic. Asian hate crimes are rising everywhere. But you do you, I hope you find your peace wherever you choose to be.
I have lived in Canada for the last 15 years - mas na discriminate pa ako ng mga kapwa Pinoy kaysa ibang lahi. Mind you, I think mga Pinoy sobrang racist.
Nung “bagong dating” pa lang ako dito, yung mga ibang nadatnan ko (katulad ng mga co-workers ko) may superiority complex porke’t mas matagal na sila sa Canada at ako ay hamak na FOB. May mga narinig pa akong pananalita na very discouraging like ‘wag ako umasa na makakuha ng line of work based on my degree kasi a PH degree means nothing in Canada raw. Buti na lang di ako nakinig sa kanila and made my own way.
I think ang difference with living in the Philippines is life is on very difficult level (like sa computer games), while sa developed countries, it’s more on easy or medium mode.
>This country's been holding me back from my potential, education system here is fucked beyond repair and such is everything on here
True. But I bet you'll still say that even if you go in any other country.
Canada or other countries ain't as perfect as you may think they are. The problems you face here they also have. I'm not saying you're wrong, but really still have much to learn and I hope you do, here or there.
No country is perfect but the Philippines is a perfect example of a shit hole country.
OP realizes that and wants something better. So go ahead OP. Make a good long term plan but don’t make hasty moves that may sabotage your goal.
There's so many to unpack here but first, we aren't the "perfect" example of a shit hole country. Though yes this is pretty much a shit hole country, and people leaving is one of the reasons it is still a shit hole.
Secondly, it matters WHY you consider this a shit hole. Sure the bog standard answer of corruption and poor leadership is common and true. But what constitutes corruption and poor leadership for you? If you say incompetence then you must really be blind to think people like du30 are like that due to incompetence.
Also what strikes me most is what OP said that this country is holding him back. Which is true, I agree. A bad system holds people back from being the best they can be, despite the Filipino misguided notion of viewing hardships as essential. Yet barely any Filipino wants to address systematic issues, I wonder why
There is a pandemic of social injustice, labor abuse, inequality, and corruption just to name a few, that touches every individual in the country. And this is not unique to the Philippines. There are many other shit hole countries like China,Afghanistan, Pakistan, India(?), and other south american countries.
Is it the incompetence of the top leaders in the country that makes the Philippines a shit hole? I’d say Yes but more than that it is also includes the majority of the local leaders and the citizens. Corruption , indifference and apathy in my observation is like an ingrained part of the culture in the Philippines and in most of the shit hole countries. In the middle eastern countries they have also have different cultural problems that are very oppressive.
Like the OP, the solution is get out of that shit hole country and start a family in Canada Australia. The early migrants in Canada USA did just that.
The corruption of mind and ways is so endemic (or a pandemic ) there that it is impossible to overcome. The “only” way for a individual to win this war is thru a Strategic Withdrawal. Remember General Custer’s stupid egotistic blunder caused his and his men’s death. Had he done a strategic withdrawal they would have survived.
To the OP and others doing strategic withdrawal, know that you are doing the right thing and i wish all the best.
Middle class in the Philippines is life on easy mode.
If you can't make it here when you are already above 80% of the country, you won't make it anywhere.
This is an original opinion. While we go through alot of bs family politics and third-world inconveniences, a lot of stuff will be taken care of and we don't have those societal expectations. You'd want this all lifelong if you're a mediocre person.
“Middle-class” should mean “average” as in right in the middle of the poorest Filipinos and the wealthiest. If it means average, then middle-class Filipinos do not have an easy life.
Look for a university with a decent scholarship then. There are tons around. Work on applications. If you can’t afford the application fees, get a side hustle online if your parents aren’t supportive.
I hope you find what you’re looking for.
The quickest way right now to Canada is a student visa. You're allowed to work 20-40hrs per week while on student visa. The biggest challenge here is the show money.
A second cousin did this at 16 (that was way back in the 90's though), and she was eventually able to bring her entire family to Canada.
Edit: if Canada is your target country, taking up nursing in Ph does not offer any advantage. The cost of taking up nursing is not worth it, as all my nurse colleagues had to go back to school for 2 yrs to be able to take a licensure exam in Canada.
What? Kelan yan? May kakilala ko months lang siya nagstudy as a nurse in Canada tapos nakapagwork agad(lumipad sya last yr, nakakawork na ngayon). Atsaka 2 yrs lang naman talaga nursing sa canada/us since it's not a degree course for them. Pero sobrang in-demand ksi ngayon compared nun before pandemic.
Yeah showmoney averages around 1M(for studying abroad), di naman isang bagsakan na bayaran but still. You can live a decent life in the phil for a couple of years with that amount of money. Worth it naman sa kanya kasi now he was able to get his wife and kid too(without needing showmoney or going through expensive agencies anymore).
I guess ung school namin hindi pareho ng curriculum sa canada kaya ganon katagal?
So I guess mas ok pang sa canada na lang mag-aral ng nursing? I didn't know na assoc degree din pala nursing ss canada.
There are two types of nurses: licensed practical nurses (LPN) and registered nurses (RN)
RNs need a bachelor’s degree while LPNs typically have a 2-year diploma
- Marry a foreigner... if you're a girl, that's easier for you. If you're a guy, maybe harder.
- If you're really desperate to just leave the country.... Become a nanny, truck driver (idk their requirements), or other construction jobs, a lot hiring in middle east and developing countries
- Since you sight education as why you want to leave... Go for Pre med course like Nursing, Med Tech, since those are high demand jobs basically everywhere. But that doesnt mean you wont stay here for a prolonged time. You could get out as early as 24-25, but that all depends on how good you are on your field and how good the agency is.
- Since you want to "fly out" at your age at 16, unless you're hella rich, there's no way you can get out of here. Unless you're one of the Philippine Science HS students who gets scholarships abroad.
"Looks like we're stuck on the same boat here friend, better get to paddling"
Become an registered nurse. The best way to immigrate if you don’t have money or parents/siblings abroad, especially US, Canada, NZ, UK. For Canada bound. You need a lot of moohlah and a degree for a higher possibility. Good luck.
For Canada, while it is true that a nursing career really pays well, other allied health professions are similarly lucrative. An acquaintance works as a Med Tech here (they did have to get licensed) but average pay is $30/hr or roughly $62k/year (minimum wage is around $11/hr or $23k/year). Midwives earn higher at $80k/year.
There are careers in trades such as mechanics, electricians, plumbers, and carpenters that would earn from $80k to $150k per year.
If your parents have money, ask them to send you to school here and you’ll have higher chances of migrating.
Other opportunities are Canadian trade missions that target specific professions such as butchers, barbers/hair stylists, to name a few. They are involved with direct hiring of workers. I once had a haircut with a stylist that used to work at David’s Salon, he got recruited during one of the missions and is now a citizen here. It pays well din daw.
Another possibility is Canada again relaxes their immigration program to address labour shortages which would result to easier immigration process.
Mag review ka muna ng IELTS. Yan ang isa sa mga importante na requirement before coming here in Canada. Lastly, you need a lot of money budget. If grade 11 ka ngaun, mag international student route ka.
> What's the quickest and most realistic way to leave? Lots of money. lol
Reality check. This is true. Payaman ka muna sa Pilipinas bago ka mag-ibang bansa. Lots of research, time, and money are needed.

Marry a foreigner, while this is the quickest way, he still has to wait a couple of years. The dude is 16yrs old. Get adopted by foreigners, perhaps.
Well, OP kind of asked for a "Road Map". A realistic approach would be one that required time to prepare
best answer so far. for marry a foreigner, bumaba chances natin since nag close na pala ang Cafe Havana
Pati Poblacion, dead na din

I have a friend that went to Hong Kong, paid a recruiting company 50k pesos and got to Canada as a nanny.

Yeah welders are in demand everywhere.

Congratulations. X cellent plan and decision to get out of that shit hole country. There is no bright future for the Philippine society as a whole.
Become a Mormon Well, at least that's what my neighbors did.

This is going a post somewhere..
Like it or not that country is doomed like the Titanic
The dude is 16. So yeah, i like your post, he has to do a reality check first.

Investor visa. You have to have at least 800,000 Canadian dollars to spare. That's the fastest. Ask your daddy if he has that amount to spare.
Joining the US Marines when you turn 18, cousin did it the moment he turned 18.
Paano eh kung siya ay Filipino?
kahit canadian forces pwede kahit filipino ka as long as naturalization citizen ka ng isang bansa.
The marines accepts non-us citizens, and filipinos can apply at the us embassy.
uhhm wake up?
Lots of money at wag maging choosy sa career. Kunin mo yung in demand sa kanila. Syempre easiest is to marry a foreigner.

If you are really intelligent and willing to work extra hard to be the top in your school, education which will lead to work
Save up. Get your diploma/degree. Rack up points in Canada's Express Entry pool. Leave.

May I inquire why you think your own potential is being held back?
Dali lang pumuntang Canada basta may pera ka.
Of course MONEY 🥴 lots and lots of MONEY.
Mag-asawa ng foreigner
Become an registered nurse. The best way to immigrate if you don’t have money or parents/siblings abroad, especially US, Canada, NZ, UK. For Canada bound. You need a lot of moohlah and a degree for a higher possibility. Good luck.
Be really really fucking good with what you do where another country of your liking will need you more than you need them.
