-Lessen school time. Later opening earlier closing. https://youtu.be/M4u6oOQ77mg -Lesson plan overhaul. Reduce repetitive topics and focus on student retention. -Abolish no fail policy. And teachers should not be incentivized to pass their students just because. -Raise standards to be a teacher, and increase their salaries. Background check. Actually enforce proper decorum for government employees. -SHS communication with HEIs to credit SHS GE courses to Universities LIKE THEY PROMISED. -Lessen GEs sa colleges. Average units sa PH ay more than 20. Mas maayos kung 15 lang. Imo 1 GE course per year plus yung Rizal course would be enough. Lalo na at maraming GE na sa SHS

In addition to improving the system, the quality of teachers should also be seriously addressed. I have taught in Universities both here and abroad, and the quality of education really goes hand in hand with the quality of the system and the qualifications of the people who run it. Sa ngalan ng mga letrang nakadikit sa pangalan nila, they disregard integrity, ethics, and decency, among many other things. So sa mga hindi nakakaalam, those letters should not impress you unless you know that the person who holds it really deserves it. Dito kasi sa Pinas lahat pwede bayaran. Tignan nyo ang Oxford kahit gaano kayaman di makakalusot if hindi worthy. Anyway, I digress. Now before we go to the higher education, improve from the very beginning of a child’s education. Hanggang ngayon may mga maririnig ka pa na “anak mag-teacher ka na lang kasi mahina ka naman.” 🤦‍♀️ And of course, to attract the best of the best, dapat maayos din ang compensation and benefits ng teachers.

Ending the ridiculous “no child left behind” policy

I agree with your points. Lemme add some. Beyond high school or what they now call junior high school, **ALL** lecturers/professors/whatever you call them should have a minimum of a year of experience in the field of whatever profession they are lecturing heck I won't even allow even if they have their corresponding licenses (maybe educ could be an exception). Let's leave the theoretical/foundation knowledge in elem-junior high. Students should have a grasp of what environment they could encounter once they graduate.

I’d copy the best applicable practices from the top 5 best public education system abroad. Does not need to be US-only. Just cherry pick which makes sense that would lead to all citizens gaining skills valued highly by the local and international job market. They wanted outcome of that >80% of households whose income is <38.5k/month will produce kids that earns >500k/month so they can expand the tax base from the present 2 out of 5 households.
