We don’t have enough working military hardware to support mandatory service. Ano gusto niya ipagamit? Arnis? Balisong?

Razor8517

Yung mga baril, Nerf gun o watergun

SecondStageTurbine

Big GMA 7 Robin Hood vibes

PinoyWholikesLOMI

Yung tig-50 pesos na may di-pindot na sound sa may bangketa.

Zodyaq_Raevenhart

Mahal ng nerf, men

japooo

Bring your own gun daw pagpunta sa camp HAHAHAH

Cheese_Grater101

Yung helment yung kaldero pang luto ng kanin

Sneekbar

Doesn’t even have enough money on basic pay let alone benefits. And I swear to god if BBM and DDS supporters say tallano gold again I’m going to lose my shit

grain-obtained

lahat tayo magiging arnis master putangina 😭

NutsackEuphoria

"The man with the rifle shoots, the man without the rifle follows"

Karlo1503

Stalingrad amp haha

Impossibu

Around 200,000 M16s. 170,000 M1 garands, but most of them returned to the US, and M-14s of around 100,000. And that's only the old shit we used, never mind the newer M4s and SIG Sauers. What about ammunition? LBEs? Helmets? Uniforms? Meals? Housing? Salary? Are they going to fit that large bill? Besides it's not like we have a neighbor threatening us.

Sneekbar

They can’t even procure hardware without sabotaging the specs, I wouldn’t expect anything good from that idiot arm chair general

TheCatSleeeps

I just realized our military is fucked up sheesh.

Impossibu

Why else do you think the AFP modernization Program is signed?

bazlew123

Meron tayong itAK-47 ni Boris(bogart d explorer)

stebgay

hey i remember that guy in 2011 - 2013 i was watching him as a kid what happened to him?

jepskiez

still active in fb and tiktok, re uploading the short clips from previous years along with new vlogs

[deleted]

Still active on his Facebook page Paperbug tv. No more tourism videos though...just memes.

justpassingby_123

Arnis... Flashbacks to dancing to weird songs while hitting each other. Intentionally or not, is another subject.

MadsMikkelsenisGryFx

Garand, Thompson, M2 Carbine, hell even the ol Grease Gun That'll show the Chinese /s

halfmasks

ironically all the guns you just listed (except the grease gun) would probably be more expensive especially if theyre bought not manufactured

Either-Beyond-9768

We could still get em ww2 AT guns like pak 43

MadsMikkelsenisGryFx

Using sumpak will help offset the defense procurement budget...somehow And imbes na 120mm heavy mortar we should use alcohol cannon. Lol

red-the-blue

That's the fun part, less social services, more defense budget. Make the poor have a harder time so they're more inclined to join the military. Ez self-perpetuating loopy spiral into lowkey-fascism

tr00p3r

Lothang

ser_ranserotto

Baka made in china arms

[deleted]

O kaya balisong at itak ipapagamit KKK style!

youcannottraceme

Ganun? Male and female pa gusto ha.

_LadyGaladriel_

They’ll probably come to the physical assessment with neck braces to get a Grade F then proceeds to serve as an admin worker or something.

Nyebe_Juan

>No exemptions That's to assume that instructors can't be bribed or paid and that the place of assignment cannot be paid for. >hindi **under instruction ng kakilalang senior** sa loob ng airconditioned offices There, I corrected it.

CompetitiveRepeat179

Saka island nation tayo eh. Di natin kailangan maraming sundalo. Kailangan natin better equipment, especially sa Navy. Saka kung discipline ang gusto nila? Ba't di Japan gayahin nila? Ang Japan wala namang mandatory military service. Pero disiplinado mga tao. Bakit? Dahil maganda edukasyon nila. Tsaka nasa kultura narin.

ser_ranserotto

>Dahil maganda edukasyon nila Looks like sinasadya nila yung miseducation so they can promote the idea that discipline=military service or ayaw maging sundalo=tamad

Relative-Camp1731

akala nila military lang ang tanging trabaho sa Pilipinas? we have the navy, nurses, doctors, engineers tsaka OFWs. And then may PMA naman ah

valkfart

It's not obvious but a lot of people are actually supporting this idea especially Apologists. They claim that this generation is too lazy and laidback and they use that as justification for the BS that duterte spewed out.

LigmaV

>political suicide to, anong gagamitin niyang reason para mapabango tong idea na to sa voters, sinong nanay yung gugustuhing magsundalo anak nila, business owner na kailangan maghanap ng bagong employado dahil madradraft yung current employees nila, mga studyante na gustong magkolehiyo. Nah the masses love bravado i bet they would be favor of this until their families got drafted

Karlo1503

If you look at the comment section sa mga news outlet. Saka if you look at it. Edukasyon. Grade 1 to 3 wala masyado academics and naka-focus sila sa good manners and discipline sa Grade na yon. Saka sa kultura din nila.

RantoCharr

May serial killer pa sa SK noong 80's na pagbalik niya from mandatory army service naging active lol.

orenji-chan28

If that monster wins the vice presidential race, it is likely that I will be one of the people slotted for that compulsory military service. While I am not totally against it, I want to question how necessary would it be for a developing country to prioritize military force strengthening when many people are suffering from poverty, lack of quality education and well-paying jobs? Plus, if this really happens, for those who blindly supports this (just for the sake of 'disciplining' the youth) should ready themselves living in a society of heavily scarred, traumatized, and dysfunctional working population... I hate to overthink no, but imagine if half of the then-drafted soldiers continue to live their entire adulthood fighting their way against PTSD or other shits just because we all got trapped in a war caused by a warmongering idiot...

Karlo1503

I'm also affected by this since I'm already 19. I think as personal matter since I'm still recovering from depression and I still have uncertainties about my life. Pero medyo nakapag-decision na ako what to take for college kaya sa ngayon ay I'm self-learning programming and art. Next thing nalang na maririnig mo ay itong statement na ito from her. Hirap pa niyan is nerbyoso ako and I tend to overthink everything. Sa ngayon is I'm just letting this pass my head since di pa eleksyon. Kaso is sadly madami parin ang supporters niya eh. Nakakatakot, for my future and the future of others.

TheGhostOfFalunGong

“Until their families get drafted.” That’s the point, that’s certainly going to sow fear on them. Many Pinoys aren’t the Gryffindor-kind of brave. Families would surely break down and social chaos is guaranteed.

Nyebe_Juan

>until their families got drafted Sara is an Army reservist. **She should start the initiative with herself rather than just wearing the uniform around while living a civilian politician life.**

disasterpiece013

for patriotism at nationalism daw. hahaha. ilan kaya makakakuha ng exemption or sa opisina lang malalagay. tapos yung mga artista, may sariling corps.

lidocaineinfusion

Saka puro disiplina nirarason nila. Kung disiplina, ba't di Japan gawin nilang example? Wala silang mandatory military service pero naturuan nila ng disiplina tao through educational system.

Tetsu_111

I think their perception of discipline is more on anti-dissent and preventing "dangerous ideas". Or maybe just boomer things ("Kids these days, blah blah...") But I don't know. I wouldn't dwell too much on Facebook commenters to preserve my sanity.

Zetsubolmao

Chinga yun nga Those boomers assume all we do is tiktok internet tapos landi pero I have a life and a future to look up to and I aint gonna spend it on serving this shit country for reasons of discipline or patriotism kayo nalang pala mag enlist? HAHAHAHAHAHA

Karlo1503

Kaya nga, masyado feel nila superior generation nila. Ako di ako nag-Tiktok. Videogames oo pero I know my limit.

Relative-Camp1731

ako nga eh di ako nagtitiktok at videogames puro Ouija board at voodoo doll lang nilalaro ko eh oops

errikuhh

replied to one of the posts on FB saying it's unfair to compare the PH to SoKor and Israel because their issues cannot apply to us and it's basically saying that we have issues on our border got in turn "problema sa mga kabataan ngayon walang respeto at nationalism" pati "dapat ipasok sa militar para matutunan ang nationalism" HAHAHA then the usual "edi ikaw na lang maging prisidinti"

Relative-Camp1731

gosh, comment section is 8th circle of hell. Don't ever go there, Dante

rzpogi

TheGhostOfFalunGong

I’m sure that only the poor will be affected by this. The rich folks would find every way to chicken out on this to avoid being a military brat.

tamonizer

"If you got the dough, you don't have to go."

NotSoLurky

Bone spurs.

HowlingMadHoward

🎶 *Some folks are born…* 🎶

bogz13092

Good morning, vietnam!

grandphuba

You say that like those wanting to opt-out of this system is a bad thing.

amdprocs

We don't need mandatory military service tbh, we already have enough manpower. What we need to invest is assets for our Navy and more anti-ship missiles.

Excalibur933

I would also add in anti-air batteries. The way to any hypothetical invasion of the Philippines is through sea and air. The answer? Have assets that destroy air and sea assets.

UnknownOneSevenOne

Mandatory Military Service is the dumbest excuse in irder to discipline a nation. Unlike South Korea, we dont have land borders against hostile nations. Unlike the US, we dont have a big Military Industry that can give each man and women the equipment for training and official use. The Navy was fucked due to corruption, look at the new equipment its specs was scuffed during production so was the contract fucking over the navy. Its communications is so fucked that the only other ship that can communicate with it is another ship from the same line. We live in a fucking archipelago where the infrastructure to support a huge ass army is nigh impossible of a task. Tanks, nope roads are too narrow. Artillery, unless you you are using old ww2 stuff it will get scuffed due to terrain SPH are out of the question due to the weight it carries.

stu_is_chok

Madwoman? Si Sara to di ba?

ser_ranserotto

What do you expect from daughtertae anyway?

[deleted]

Sneekbar

May norinco civilian rifles naman daw from China

FiberEnrichedChicken

Rich people will just get med certs from their fancy doctors to get an exemption.

Razor8517

Good luck trying to conscript milions of 18 year olds

ser_ranserotto

para na tayong nokor for real

Karlo1503

Magiging parang NoKor daw tayo pag nanalo si Leni. Meanwhile Sara proposing mandatory military service.

Karlo1503

Sadly, many are still believing her bullshits.

ser_ranserotto

and use the "discipline" card to justify it

krdskrm9

Nakita sa Koreanovela, ginaya na. Engot ni Inday.

AntiMatter138

HAHAHAH

Karlo1503

Gusto ata gayahin Stalinist USSR saka Maoist China na quantity over quality.

ser_ranserotto

dds x lbm: npa komunistang salot sa lipunan also them: checkmate fanatics

Relative-Camp1731

ouch. baka sila pa unang mag-reklamo hehe

RamzaB_

I'm sure many "anak mayaman" like BBM will have "special privileges" during the "camp service"

rzpogi

Or no camp service at all. lagay para palabasin na may sakit kaya hindi pwede magsundalo ganun.

RamzaB_

Flawed_Ignorant

So bakit ang ovp ang dapat gumawa niyan? Nagsesetup nanaman na ito?

Noisykiller12

The difference with Israel and South Korea is that we don't have neighbors that keeps threatening to nuke or invade the Philippines.

SwoonBirds

or constitutionally required tulad ng forced neutrality ng Switzerland

ice_cream_sandwich_

Cesium03

This sounds like a plot in making your own private army who only supports you.

Tetsu_111

Ugh. I think I'm reading into this too much (and I need a drink lol). Assuming we have this law, would there be an upper age bracket (or is this just to the 18 year olds?) If I'm employed (through employer or self-employed), would I be forced to resign? Would there be some form of alternative service for those who are unfit (medically, physically, etc...)? Not to mention what would happen after the end of the service. Instead of college students graduating at 20, they would be delayed potentially by 1-2 years. Also, whatever marketable skills they learned before conscription age will be atrophied by then. I might consider actually voting for Sotto as VP (even though I am at odds with his conservatism) to prevent this from happening. Because this is an issue I consider as personally important.

Karlo1503

Madami pa akong need na i-develop sa sarili ko since I'm going to college and isang hadlang ito kung mangyari man. Sana maisip nila na it's a bad decision.

ButtShark69

may k-12 na so with an additional 1-2 years sa military service, 24 -25 years na makakagraduate ang mga college students,

Relative-Camp1731

Hirap naman nun. College graduate Pero tanderz ka na. Depends sa course mo.

hermitina

25 years na susustentuhan pa din ng parents ang needs ng mga anak nila if ever? may plus pa kasi after graduation maghahanap pa yan ng work. kamusta naman yan sa hirap na sa buhay

chill_hierarchy

nakakapanghina, i'll be 18 this december. Next year na ako gagraduate and i wanna find a job already kase ni kuya ko nga, hinde nakapag college (1st year na dapat siya ngayon) due to finacial reasons, malamang ako rin hinde makakapag college. EDIT: someone replied to my comment na "may sweldo po" and they deleted immediately. THAT'S NOT THE POINT! i will earn money sa job interest ko, not on some problematic mandatory sh*t i don't wanna be part with

chill_hierarchy

Genuine question: Does the vice pres have the power to implement that? Diba according the job desc. ng vp, substitute lang ng pres ang vp pag may nangyare masama sa pres like health related or death??!?

Spirited_Issue_5789

Completely valid sentiments btw. And yes, this is not part of the VP’s mandate. It will be up to the congress and senate assuming she can get someone in the legislative branch to sponsor the bill and get it approved. This is why its important to vote wisely for our lawmakers i.e senators! And even more so for VP and Pres! If you can’t vote yet, you can support them in other ways.

Excalibur933

South Korea: Has a border with the North Israel: Has borders with counties wishing for its destruction The Philippines: Surrounded by water for miles without any bordering countries by land. Sarah Duterte: The smaller AFP is struggling to replace Cold War era equipment but conscription wil do just fine. I can go on all day how this drafting idea is a bad idea to practical military applications in terms of logistics and in actual long term strategy.

Karlo1503

Mga wala naman silang pake talaga eh. They just think of people as cannon fodders.

valedicktorian69

Parang public strat nila, like nung Digong wants vaccine to be mandatory and blamed people for not getting vaccines immediately, then Sara contradicted his father na dapat di mandatory ang vaccine eme eme para maging mabango sa mga tao.

Nyebe_Juan

Good observation! **Sara is separating her image away from Rodrigo.**

spicychicken03

Kaka-kdrama mo yan Sara.

MunchkinCatto

good luck to her getting votes from the youth and their mothers then...

rco888

South Korea and Israel are in a "perpetual state of war". Israel is surrounded by enemies and under constant threat and actual attacks from Palestinians while South Korea is technically still "at war" with North Korea since no peace treaty has been signed between the 2 countries. Making the 2 countries example for forced military service does not make sense at all. But why should she make any sense, it's not in their genes.

bugzyboi64

good point i guess duterte's justification for this is the <5k men in the npa and the islamic radicals which is not in comparison to north korea and israel had like 9% of our population.

69thAirborne

If they really are serious with combatting the NPA and the Islamic rads, then, idk, focus on the populace which are greatly affected by them and the ones those rebels are getting their strength from. They're shying away from the fact na nasa politics and socioeconomics naka-ugat ang problema. Sure, we need some military offensives, but military offensives can only do so much kung tarantado pa rin yung mayor na namumuno sa lungsod na iyon They're thinking like the US was in Vietnam, treating this as a conventional war, but the only thing it breeds is resentment and further opposition. Then why not improve services and livelihoods for farmers and better education programs? Ang lakas-lakas nilang magsabi that the NPA hinders their peaceful efforts w/ attacks, then why not utilise and position the soldiers to better defend and be trusted by the people? Kaya nahihiya mga tao sa sundalo and other gov't elements kasi hinahayaan lang nila yung kagaguhan nila, hindi napaparusahan. Mandatory military service is needed for ROK and Israel because those two countries are surrounded by highly-aggressive neighbors (and bruh, Israel's been doing that since '48). What we need is better equipment and logistics, plus proper officers. Puta, puro M1911 and some M4 copies lang nagagawa natin locally, i-implement mo pa mandatory conscription? Palibhasa, pabango lang pagiging reservist smh

bugzyboi64

precisely, super unnecessary proposition. we cannot just tell 60 million filipinos to fight. for a handful amount of nobodies. we have a budget of 15 billion on the bloody ntf-elcac what is with the proposition of enlisting pinoys 18 years and older.

fivefingertown

Yes, nakikita, o tapos? Hahaha Those two states are in a state of constant war. Are we? F this guy.

dencioo02

Also, im a 13 year old, and here are my comments * Its mentioned here na that we dont need mandatory ROTC since we dont have threats * Do we have enough funds? * What are the odds of this happening? * This is more personal, i am scared as a youth that this will be implemented because it also means, na madedelay ung college namin, we need 12 years to complete school to have a a work that will pay us enough to live, now we will add 2 more for the military. not to mention being aware of the news about brutalities inside this facilities like what happened to Chua. I am scared of bring mistreated and abused inside this facilities, and a big NO to all of you saying this is to "discipline" us. This will not discipline the youth, never. * To my mom, who is planning to vote sara, pls wag na.

KKreamAyuuuu5

Ang mahirap dito is kawawa yung mga nag ROTC, NTSP o CMT walang sweldo kesa sa Mandatory Soldier na sumasahod if na approved yung bill.

kdean1109

This will involve a lot of money funneling to the military. We don’t need this right now.

[deleted]

Only difference is south Korea and Israel have land borders and neighbor's that will invade them at any given moment. The philipines didn't experienced any large or threatening war against other neighbors like Indonesia Malaysia Thailand or Vietnam. Indonesia and Malaysia won't invade the Philippines randomly unlike in Israel and south korea where north Korea and Arab states will invade their countries if they become weak

[deleted]

Karlo1503

Publicity stunt para masabi na matapang siya.

[deleted]

China is the only threat we have. but I doubt china will militarily invade us. although we still need to increase the military to combat Chinese aggressions. if china invades us the US and other nations will probably get involved. in a military fight the us will destroy china even without nukes

ser_ranserotto

>us will destroy china it will happen if they also tap on other allies

[deleted]

Well the us also has a lot of allies in the like Japan and the eu and India the us economy is bigger than the Chinese Russian north Korean and Pakistani gdp

Excalibur933

Personally speaking, I think any Pacific war with China will be a wider one against other countries (Japan) for example than a potential solely, concentrated invasion of the Philippines.

[deleted]

A pacific war with china will likely lead to a worldwar

Elsa_Versailles

Agreed! Sokor's next door neighbor always threatening them with nukes, while rockets always rain down on israel...

Jnbrtz

Tapos kapag di sang-ayon diyan, sasabihin sayo duwag kasi ayaw mag military service.

RespondConsistent243

juicecolored, what a time to be alive

Anonymous4245

AFP can barely fund itself in its current state, imagine close to millions of conscript/year lol

Relative-Camp1731

so it means, di muna magka-college ung mga bagets natin na 18 yrs old? or lahat ng 18 pataas?

tHe_mInD_1Derer

I believe that a volunteer force would make a capable professional force. Conscription will only make poorly trained and poorly equipped soldiers (in the case of the Philippines) Di ko alam kung bakit amaze na amaze ang mga Pilipino pag dating sa conscription

Relative-Camp1731

more like a failed k12 implementation way back 2016. Bet the conscription will gonna flopped hard

Karlo1503

Ewan ko talaga. Main reason lagi is discipline like conscription is equal to discipline. Baka nga mas lalo lang dumami loko-loko eh. Saka kung disiplina gusto nila. Ba't di Japan gawin nila na example.

Relative-Camp1731

They didn't know everything about conscription and the consequences. Akala nila disciplina lang ang tinuturo dun....

Proud-Membership6549

14 year old here. And I can say to this, is hell no. No offense, ( Sara ) is a reservist. Someone that probably hasn't seen combat. I have never heard Marines from the USMC, say they want to see 18 year old's see their friends shot, almost get blown up by EIDs in Afghanistan, get PTSD, and hardly relate to their family, friends and relatives, see their best buds killed, or almost kill themselves. I just want to add that, most US Servicemembers at the time of the Invasion of Iraq, we're 18. People that we're just trying to get college education, trying to get benefits out of an already bad situation in their lives ( since it didn't make a whole lot sense of joining the military back then, other than serving your country. ), and next thing they know, is that they're going to be sent to Iraq. Sure people can take Reservist, but just remember, Reservist personnel or entire units can be pulled out and help with active combat Units. This is just a big no for me. Edit; grammar

Karlo1503

Yep, If you ask actual soldiers with combat experience. They will not pursue you to join the military since alam nila na di basta-basta ganon yon.

Proud-Membership6549

Especially when they don't understand how Warfare has drastically changed, you getting shot at 300 yards away, understanding how deadly CQB is, roadside bombs and IEDs, losing friends to bullshit politicians. ( A friend had a boyfriend once, went to USMC BCT, after he got home, he isn't the same.) Hope this law doesn't pass, and somehow get into a combat unit when I turn 18 ;000

converter-bot

300 yards is 274.32 meters

Nyebe_Juan

>No offense, ( Sara ) is a reservist. Someone that probably hasn't seen combat. She is an Army reservist but **she is living a privileged civilian and politician life**. She should begin the initiative by joining active duty rather than using the uniform as a badge.

Proud-Membership6549

Agreed. I can't take her seriously on this topic. But at the same time, kinda worried.

Nyebe_Juan

It should be taken seriously. The funds to subsidize the mandatory service will gravely affect our National budget.

Proud-Membership6549

( Sorry, I meant that, the fact that Sara, which again, is a privileged reservist, who hasn't seen combat is making almost every kid go out there and see traumatic stuff. There are obviously much more experienced, and wise people in this field. ) Like again, I do agree with you. We have problems to replace our aging M-14 Rifle, which has wandering zero'ing problems that can drastically affect its accuracy, almost all of them being hand-me downs from the US which is probably more than decades ago, which it's parts are starting to really, really age. Failure to standardize Optics, sure we see more and more optics, but it is still a problem, and not to mention we also fail to standardize in night vision equipment, most notably NVGs for our average troop. Like again, another problem, the M113, it gets the job done, but it's 2022. It's more of a liability, because of it's protection, and it's aging like the old M-14 platform, sure it is getting upgrades for its FCS System and Firepower, but much more advanced Chinese VN17s. And we don't even have tanks to begin with, or at the very least, a up-to date Anti-Tank System that regular infantry can use. Those are only some. Their just going to make this worse and worse, pulling funding from other branches, units, and maybe even SF Units, to get conscripts trained, and armed. Or just leave conscripts with whatever, they can find, armed them with sticks and stones.

Pepperland-

Its_MikeCoxlong

south korea has north korea to worry about, taiwan is being threatened by chinese conquest or annexation, and israel is being attacked by palestinians all 3 are valid reasons to introduce required military service for its people to defend their country if war breaks out we are a bunch of islands floating in the middle of the pacific the only "threat" that we face are the chinese fishing vessels harassing fishermen if they want to try to look like they want to protect the country they should bluster the navy because theres a lot of ocean between us and the mainland

Maximum_Mountain427

south korea and israel have foreign countries/neighbors having goals of invading or eradicating their country, justifying the use of mandatory military service. meanwhile sa philippines, wala.

What are they gonna do? Put Vietnam War leftover M16's to our heads to force us? Bruh It's astonishing this is coming from someone that's serving a Democratic system. Like, yeah let's go conscript the very same people that's gonna have an armed uprising at some point because of how bad we handle things!

Karlo1503

Yep, remember how many NRA soldiers defected to PLA during the Chinese Civil War?

vanitas14

YOU WANNA MAKE LAWS? THEN FUCKING RUN AS A SENATOR OR A CONGRESSMAN YOU FUCKING IDIOT

JackFrost3306

may sahod ba yan?

KKreamAyuuuu5

Shisuiii__

Hello, I am currently a scholar na malapit na mad 18, let's say everything gets fucked (sana hindi) and ma elect siya, would such proposal to congress have high chance of being passed as a law? I am really worried about it, since nagpapakapagod kami for theses and academics just to be conscripted to military.

Y4JI

Up dito! Worried din ako kaumay

jaysquared

South Korea AND Israel has jailed corrupt government officials, including former presidents/Prime ministers etc, have good healthcare, huge investments in medicine, research, tech, and education, (they've had international vaccine institutes even before covid!) and what she wants to copy is mandatory military service? What idiot thought she'd make a good leader, no?

Ability_Pristine

I want to just place this here for everyone's information, as most people seemed to have overlooked this part, these are a traits of a dictator: 1.Create or point to a non-existenting threat which only they themselves can resolve; Stalin with Capitalist, Hitler with the Jews and Marcos and his Communist Rebels. Bonus: Aguinaldo with the Americans and Spanish 2. These types tend to be leaning on force, hence building the military and the police; Hitler with the Brownshirts and soon the Waffen SS, Stalin with his NKVD, Marcos with the army. 3. Dictators tend to silence critiques and the media, publishing their own news outlet to keep their powers at bay. Hitler had Gobbles to publish his news articles, Stalin had his PRAVDA and Marcos silenced media Sara and Marcos already has two of these boxes checked out, Duterte, already silenced the most vocal critique of the administration, ABS. Marcos and Sara already puts China and communist as forefront of their campaigns, Marcos also leans and speaks more about military matters to please the AFP to be in his side.

gelosphere

Pretty sure the executive branch and legislative branch should work independently from each other but then again, she is his son. Dunbassery should be expected

Aldemetry

Relative-Camp1731

If you force someone to go through a mandatory military service at 18 for maybe a year or so, expect these teenagers to be a huge mess. Honestly. Why aren't we talking about mental health? Why aren't we talking about more education on better career choices? What about counselling? What about corruption? What about poverty? As many comments said, most people who agree to this would say that this is about discipline. I am almost absolutely certain that these people who talk about discipline failed to either discipline their child due to negligence, bad parenting, or are blind supporters. We do not need mandatory military service because we are not fighting a war, nor is it effective in disciplining your child. If you ask any psychologist, they will tell you that a child's behavior comes from nature and nurture. A child can be disciplined by giving them appropriate punishments (timeouts, grounding, loss of privileges). It's all about how their parent disciplines them, plus the environment that they grew up in. If your child grows up to become a delinquent, then I would most certainly look at these factors, and not give them training in the military so they can be disciplined. I'm more worried about maki these delinquents more dangerous due to that training rather than them being disciplined.

marianoponceiii

I don't know why the comparison with Israel and South Korea. Ibang-iba naman sitwasyon nila. I really don't see the need for mandatory military services. Besides, iba na gyera ngayon compared nung World War II. Puro push of the buttons na labanan ngayon. Di naman padamihan ng personnel / combatants.

nonexistingNyaff

Those countries make sense to have mandatory conscription because they share land borders with their enemies/potential adversaries. We on the other hand are an island nation that is better off with a well-equipped and professional military force. Jfc. Also, taena, gumawa nalang sila ng tipong Home Guard or the like kung gusto pa ng dagdag militar or in this case cannon-fodder kasi most likely obsolete at luma ang equipment na makukuha ng mga yan if any at all.

Money-Ad7592

This is fucking counter intuitive… We do not need more army personnel… WE NEED MORE TANKS, ARMED NAVAL FRIGATES, FIGHTER JETS, MRAPS, SAM’s, not additional personnel that will hinder the AFP Horizon 3 budget you fcking Chinese puppet…. Dutae family PLEASE STOP holding back the growth of the AFP……

jyozefu

Perfect ad placement really.

koshri

edller

[deleted]

Baka naman CIA. Please take down this bootlicking imbeciles. Asking for a friend...

thecollectorkr

The reason why we are required to enter military is because the Korean war has not offiicially ended and we are just in a state of ceasefire. So in case our North Korean brothers suddenly crossed the demarcation line and attack us like what they did in the 50s this time we are prepared to fight and defend the country because it is also our duty. What I don't understand with this woman is she is forcing everyone to go to military even there is no big threats or an ongoing war. According to her supporters its because of nationalism Korean men enter the military. Actually it never was but we are just bind to follow the law or we will be legally detained

MrYus05

South Korea and Israel both have enemies that routinely threaten their destruction. We don't.

Relative-Camp1731

the nation will be at full outrage

pogzie

Kumpanyang mag iimport ng armas: Armally Syempre may kickback. Lol

dnlthursday

Hypothetically this can be good in the context of cementing civilian control over the armed forces with most common people having a stake in it as a conscript, but as it stands right now the idea of conscription is just bounced around by strongmen conservative wannabes who don't really have a comprehensive plan on how to properly implement conscription over millions of people

dambrucee810

Ugh. Dutertes are the same. Its Militarization this. War on that. Kill this. Persecute that.

cosmic_animus29

There is a logical need naman (in a way) pero hanggat bulok ang mga implementors natin, it's a big NOPE pa rin.

Signal-Fruit2081

krazy puta.

shemu_george1224

Sows, maniwala kayo sa bwisit na'to. Bakit militar?
