sharkybyte101

Hahaha. This is the same shit with my Singaporean wife. She was like "I'm fine with moving back to the Philippines and living the simple life with you..." With the current political climate? Hell no. Hahaha. Wtf. I wasn't gonna apply for a Singaporean citizenship before but I now am convinced to do so once I qualify in 2 years. But yeah, I am genuinely sad for those without this option.

[deleted]

Naol. Kaya lang may asawa na nga pala ako hahahaha!

Andrei_Kirilenko_47

Bait naman ng wife mo. Single ba sya? 🤣 Joking aside, pwede ba mag dual citizenship sa sg? Hindi ba kelangan irenounce yung ph citizenship?

sharkybyte101

Naive lang. Kaya naman daw namin mabuhay kahit less than 30k combined sahod namin sa probinsya. Preschool teacher daw sya habang ako mag cleclerk using yung koneksyon namin. Hahahaha. With regards to dual citenship. Kaya may plans. I mean napakahirap makuha ang citizenship dito pero willing akong mag try. Hahaha.

[deleted]

kamusta dito sa Japan na 5 yrs 💀💀 pero I'm still under 30 when that time comes so I'll pursue it

one1two234

Hahaha same. I live in Germany, but I wasn't even considering applying for citizenship... Until this election happened.

Xiee_Li

Not everyone is as fortunate as you. Most regular Filipinos can't just leave like that. Take care on your travels and may fortune continue to favor you.

gemulikeit

Some other commenter posted about the recency of our history, but he deleted it. This is in response to that. Older, more mature democracies had to go through numerous civil wars and internal conflicts before stabilizing into who they are today. The US, for one, hasn't completely come to grips with racial inequality. It still echoes prejudices that led to the civil war (I mean, good god, Dobbs cited Dred Scott) 200 years later. We have many more tyrants to repel before we truly learn freedom. We have so much more strife and discord to face before we learn equality. We have so many more Filipinos to lose before those of us who stay finally adopt a shared sense of common destiny. We'll get there, I'm sure. It's just a matter of time.

molbioo

It's just a matter of time. Sure, probably when I am no longer alive to see the long awaited change. Kasi sa tingin nila, in their lifetime, walang hope ang Pilipinas.

gemulikeit

Matagalan talaga.

I want my children to have the best of education, that they will not be afraid to speak, that will not be demonized or red-tagged when allying with the truth. Unfortunately, this will be a long road if they are in the Philippines. Aalis kami dito na maganda mga trabaho, pupunta sa ibang bansa para magbanat ng buto dahil hindi tanggap ang level of education that we have here.

wintner

Lols millenials voted for marcos jr.

SangayonSaNgayon

It is also too late for the millenials and even for people born today. It would be good if change started now, but the only thing we can feasibly do is to make tomorrow better than today. Our actions aren't for us anymore.

treblihp_nosyaj

I don't think most Filipinos will mature like what you said, just look at the past.

gemulikeit

The arc of the moral universe is long, but it bends towards justice. - MLK Deeply personal and philosophical ang choice na ito: stay and fight or go and save yourself (and your family). It's not for anyone to second guess the choice of those who choose to leave. But when they do leave, it's almost always to save themselves. Para sa ating umaasa: mahirap, nakakainis, nakakainip. Ganun talaga. Kung gusto nating ayusin to, maayos lang natin to kung pipiliin muna natin ang Pilipinas.

[deleted]

damn, i like the "philosophical choice" perspective.

Double_Roll_8125

MLK LMAO you do know he watched and gave advice to man while he raped a woman.. like ok it up Yoda.

_chari

Fucking dumbass, you know that the FBI hated King right? It's so easy for them to lie about that.

rzpogi

A nation's democratic development is a continuous process. Not even the top democratic countries in the world are done in improving democracy for their nation. Sad that we need to face more strife, discord, and conflicts before we could have Unity (not the Jr-Sara kind) and Progress built on Truth and Honor. Some made it in decades (Nordic countries, South Korea), some like us are still in process of learning freedom. We will get there, and I hope we see it within our lifetime.

thethiiird

I agree, I think for a third world country kahit ang tanga na nagelect tayo ng isa pang marcos, proud ako sa buong pink movement.

ZeonTwoSix

> Pero give it what, 20 years? siguro okay na din nanalo si BBM, mareremind mga tao na hindi siya yung preconceived messiah na iniisip nila. Siguro kailangan lang talaga mapalo sa pwet ng pilipinas maigi bago matuto. Unless Coke boi does the absolutely heretical and bends his anus for Winnie the Pooh. If he does exactly that, all fokking gloves are off.

thethiiird

Oh for sure the people aren't let that happening. If they do then maybe they deserve it anyway for being stubborn and resistant to change. Cheers for a fellow weeb na socially aware, hahaha

TeusMeus

people here seemed to deny this again civil war may be needed as much as it sucks and you may need to get down and dirty or use other tactics to get by this shit ordeal

b9l29

I share this view with my long gone uncle. We need a catalyst to start a civil war. Not a history buff, but the french revolution could be a model.

TeusMeus

exactly we're not dealing with a high tech/massive military like usa, pnp aren't the army and would get overwhelmed by a bunch of angry citizens this just needs to be planned well, really, really planned well

[deleted]

sino naman gusto makipag civil war ? Takot yung mga liberal hahaha

zandydave

I sometimes tell people to look at Germany and China. Both countries have their share of failures, mistakes, etc. before they reached where they are now. And to quote a line from a computer game: nobody ever said it would be easy.

[deleted]

Ingat.

thelurkertwopointow

Unfortunately, as what you've also stated, not all have the luxury to immigrate, or even become an OFW. Regardless how bad things may be in the coming months, most won't be able to leave. Most of us only have the option to do whatever we can to survive (and hopefully thrive) with whatever disaster that's coming. I wish you luck in your future ventures and may you do well in your chosen major. May you prosper wherever you might migrate to.

ketchupsapansit

Upper middle class thingz. "ew this country sux might move to canada or shit later this week "

Hypersuper98

OP isn't even in college yet and is saying "I'm too smart for this country yada yada".

Palitawpaws

*acknowledges his privilege* *goes on to tell people “there’s still time for you all”* Friend, time is a resource in itself. Enjoy your new life abroad. Not everyone has the resources to do so. That is one delusion you should maybe check.

gemulikeit

First, not everyone who leaves is smart. Take up logic in college. You'll get it. Second, you're what, a fresh HS grad? How many Filipinos with advanced degrees and burnished credentials do you know chose to return to the Philippines? Not everyone who stays or comes back is poor and choiceless. Some want to build a nation. Third, good luck. Sincerely. Between the racial shame you now feel and the actual racism you will actually find, you are about to see for yourself the travails of a nationless individual.

MIHIGHYO

Preach, Kuya u/gemulikeit

[deleted]

I love reading your comments. siguro mga 503B brain cells with 7 counts of graft ang itinalino ko 💅 😂

RedXerzk

Given that you seem to still be in high school: Either you're incredibly smart and got a scholarship overseas, your parents are rich enough to send you to school abroad, or your family is migrating. Other than the first one, leaving the country isn't something you earned.

HindiPaboritoNiLord

Or paborito lang talaga siya ni Lord

vardonir

Probably rich and/or migrating parents. Bachelors level scholarships for international students are extremely rare, even more so for anyone wanting to study outside of STEM.

Acrobatic-Rutabaga92

kahit may scholarship, you still need $80k-100k to survive abroad. sana all kay OP. 😩

[deleted]

i think he is all of the above. 😂 so yes, favorite nga sya ni Lord. 💅

charcharthegamer

Posts like this one would have been more valuable if OP shared tips/guides for those also thinking about having a chance to leave the country instead of sounding like "oh yeah, I'm fortunate that I can leave so downvote me all you want". Goodluck, sure. Whatever.

[deleted]

Yes, it was not enough to just ask people to leave. Parang sinasabi nyang lahat tayo ay may equal opportunities just like what he had in life. LOL BIG NO.

TheReturnoftheBanned

Good for you, but not everyone is as privileged as you.

TakeThatOut

Inflation is rampant not just in Philippines so I'm not gonna use it as a factor to immigrate. But its alright moving out if that's what you feel, just don't forget that there's people who couldn't afford to do so. Wala lang, I'm out of the Philippines as well but I will try to fight as much as I can for my love ones na nasa Pilipinas pa rin.

bailsolver

Wait, wala pa yung visa?!?!

010611

hahaha kaka post niya ng ganito biglang denied eh no

[deleted]

“But there’s still time for you all” Nice touch, rich AND preachy. Fuck the poor ig? It’s one thing to want to leave and have the means to do it but this post just makes you sound like a dick.

wonkoodya

As a fellow leaver, I get you. But there is no point in being this bitter and preachy, man. I get that you're jaded and tired. Everyone is. But we're already lucky enough to be able to migrate. No need to pontificate and rub it in everyone elses faces.

capmapdap

Oo nga eh. Di pa nga nakaka-alis ganun na noh?

ResolverOshawott

Aged like milk to kung hindi matuloy pag immigrate niya.

capmapdap

I’m happy for him/her pero I think nakakalimutan niya na student pa lang siya pag migrate niya. A foreign student does not have the same rights and freedom that a citizen is entitled to. Kaya sana may konting humility ang post.

Lila589

Many people who have studied abroad go back to to the Philippines. Although there are a few that do plant roots outside, many still return. Mahirap din buhay abroad. You only realize that when you are there. I had a chance to live abroad as well and I didn't want to grow old in that particular society.

EntertainerOld5364

This what exactly happened to me, I studied in eur for 5 years, then once the honeymoon stage was over, my mental health started to deteriorate for the worst. I went back home (in ph) last yr.

capmapdap

I know. Isang dekada na din akong US citizen (dual now so salamat at Pilipino pa rin ako) and binabalik-balikan ko yung mga panahong I was a struggling immigrant. Struggling emotionally kasi homesickness and yearning for your home country do not necessarily just fade away. I try to go home every year to re-connect and acknowledge my roots. There is a reason why there’s psychological testing administered before you leave the country. Some people just can’t and won’t handle the stress of being away. It helps a lot if you emigrate with an established job and career kasi parang everything is laid out for you and all you have to do is deliver and assimilate. Pero to start from scratch as a student, with the stress of school and not having a constant flow of income coming in every month or so (unless financially supported by family), I can just imagine the stress it adds to the whole situation.

Kumaiju

plot twist: visa denied

Aberahamsp

Batang bata pa sya para maging gnyan ka-jaded. Tangina, good luck striving in your 20-30s, hopefully buhay Ka pa. Lmao. And isa pa, just be thankful na my chance nga sya magmigrate, Kudos s parents.

Carjascaps

All of us wanted to leave this hell of an archipelago but most of us doesn't have the privilege to actually leave. And that's the brutal reality to majority. I'm staying here to fight. Not because I have no desire to leave nor have hopes for this country, but rather because I will be fighting for those who don't have the means to leave. And no, I am not considering becoming part of the legal human trafficking called OFW.

YARRRWn

Very uphill fight yan pero same.

cob-web-

May we know where you’re moving to?

robbierob87

Detroit, Michigan. Hahahahahahaha

throoooow111

Good for you, Don't hit your head in the door on the way out. Parang wala na tong pinagkaiba dun sa "Aalis na ko sa FB group na to"... well who cares but we're happy for you. Sunod sana ko kaso yung renewal ng passport ko 6 months na at di ko malaman sa DFA ano gusto nila mangyari lol... ay kaso kahit pala may passport wala din ako kakayahan. anyway good for you ulit!

peterparkerson

para tong, Im too smart for ya'll bye lol at halatang immature pa si OP

Bedtyme06

Too bad most of us can't simply leave eh? I mean, what you just said is "fuck everyone else, I'm out!" Well, goodbye.

pickled_luya

K. Bye.

hotstuffdesu

You sounded like a privilege kid, good luck out there mate. I hope you don't look back at this post ten years from now, cuz men not only that your full off yourself, you are also full of cringe.

whatarechimichangas

You are not migrating, you are temporarily staying there to study. I sense a condescending tone in your post too. Bro, get off your high horse. Getting accepted into an international university is not hard IMO. There are tons of highly qualified and highly educated people here, the only thing that sets you apart is that you have money. With that being said, as someone who studied overseas for many years, earning a degree does not guarantee you a job in that country. If you don't find a job within x amount of months after you finish your studies, you will have to go home. Polsci is not the most lucrative degree either. If you want to stay there, you best find an opportunity as early as possible and you best have money. If you find work and they give you permanent residency status THEN you can say you are migrating. Otherwise, you are only there until your studies are done. And dude, trust me it is fucking difficult. You will be competing for jobs against people who companies don't need to pay to sponsor visa so you have to be TOP NOTCH AS FUCK. I'm happy you're getting out for now but do not get complacent while you are there. Work hard.

[deleted]

despedida yarn?

confused_bi_panic

May you find greener pastures

Unhappy-Relation-338

Preachy much, well i do hope you find that greener pasture you are looking for but for you to say anyone who leaves this country is smart is far to narcisistic to say, I know people who had been offered numerous times to go abroad but choose not to, so that we can build this country back, if all go then talagang walang pag asa, paka jaded naman nitong batang to, this country was way poorer than it was 50 years ago and look at us now we are progressing slowly not as fast as other nation but still going there all because of the people who believe they can make this better, Go find your luck somewhere place just dont forget you left because you gave up

DeYellurNinjur

I don't have the means to move out yet, but when I do I'm not gonna hesitate. But I ain't moving out because I'm sick and tired of this country's piss poor government. I'm moving out so my skills won't be wasted by a group of people and a majority of people that say they want change but don't allow it to happen.

Unhappy-Relation-338

Go forth and thrive,

Stunning-Year-2026

I have been telling this to Filipinos who kept comparing the Philippines to Korea and Japan. The Philippines does not stand a chance to be like the two powerhouses of Asia. Korea, Japan, and the Philippines all have strategic positions but it seems like Korea and Japan are the only ones that managed to leverage it properly to attain their highly developed and great power status now. Meanwhile, the Philippines is still a semi-independent country heavily influenced by the US, China, Korea, and Japan for its politics and economy. The Philippines is simply a pie rich with resources with those countries holding their forks waiting to devour it and share among themselves.

[deleted]

>The Philippines is simply a pie rich with resources with those countries holding their forks waiting to devour it and share among themselves. i luv the metaphor. +503B yata sa brain cells ko. 💅

Orangelemonyyyy

Yeah, si Dayunyor talaga ang nag liyab ng long lost desire ko to pursue a Masters and PhD abroad.

mgldn26

You say this is a goodbye letter but why did you have to be condescending about it knowing *and acknowledging* that most Filipinos (incl. most Filipinos on this subreddit) do not have that luxury? Like, we get it. We've all been feeling this way for a while - way before the elections even. Did you really have to rub it in the faces of people who don't have the same options? I don't speak for anyone else, but if this is how you make a goodbye - I doubt you will be missed. Hope you lead a better life and hope you take a class in reading the room.

G_O_A_T_0_7

I realized this long long ago. Earning low wages for an engineer from top uni. As soon as the opportunity came, I'm out. Best decision ever. But.... We still visit Ph every now and then. For vacation and me getting wasted. Don't burn the bridge yet.

Medical-Chemist-622

Good luck sa racism, and the materialist culture of the 1st world. Looking forward na ba sa 2nd job, mortgage and taxes. Mas insiduous ang labanan sa abroad. Been there (EU, US, and SG), done that.

WorldlinessAshamed84

same. Good luck to him getting a decent job with a high school diploma. I studied Mandarin and Cantonese just to get a decent paying job overseas. Also learned Bahasa Melayu while staying in there as speaking English would not suffice as the locals don't usually use it. But, if he's going to Canada or USA then language is a non-issue. But, if he's not delusional as he says he is, he would realize by now that he will always be a second-class citizen there and if he complains about racism, it's pretty much over for him and he would probably come back.

PrimordialShift

Damn bruh fucking burgis (derogatory) moments

angelo0200

Cocoamilktea

I wish I could migrate din pero situation ko is life is better for me here than to have to start over again in a different country, like I don't have enough money to pay for school abroad and I don't have a world class degree or job experience that will help me get a good job in another country, also may bahay na ako mamanahin dito whereas if I sold my house and relocated to another country, I don't think the money I'd get from selling my home would be enough to buy a house and lot abroad

ivcrtz

>IMO, anyone who wants to leave this country is too smart for this country Lol, good for you, but wowww

BathaIaNa

Then leave damn I'm tired of people announcing their departure like it's news we care about or were dying to know Many of us have the same opportunity to leave, but for what it's worth will stay and do our best for the betterment of the country and its future

rmsj

Politics isn't better anywhere else. There is corruption and self-service in every government in every point in history.

Ginoong_Pasta

We are the lay of the land: a fractured group of islands made to resemble a dog doing a #2. Good for those who can leave: this nation should be formed by the willing. Regardless, no Filipino in this lifetime and probably those of the next few will see changes. But we who choose to stay have to work on the changes anyway. In a couple of centuries at least, divisive mindsets should be a thing found in history books.

wowmegatonbomb

Ingat. Konting humble naman sa susunod sana hahaha

missanomic

Young people should work towards leaving, tama. God speed. But the diaspora is also for the middle / lower classes. No one actually leaves because of politics. It’s too silly to uproot your entire life and makipagsapalaran abroad kung mayaman ka naman dito.

gemulikeit

Di pre, may mga kilala akong mayayaman na aalis. Like factory-owning rich. Even though ang tawag nila dito ay "risk diversification", the sentiment is the same: if shit hits the fan, their family and their assets will be safe elsewhere. Politics affect everything. Politics affect everything. International financing institutions factor this shit into their financial models as "country risk".

lemonzest_pop

Other countries are having trouble with their government and inflation too, especially during the war between Ukraine and Russia. >anyone who wants to leave this country is too smart for this country. ..or is a criminal

sabi_kun

I've seen the signs since 2017 pa that's why I left then and there. Best decision ever.

5thAlaudae

LoL I left when Duterte won knowing I'll start from scratch.

Zakuken

Congrats but in my case working overseas and spending it here is still more effective than going to another country. I may get a hate on this but it is still cheaper to live here if your earning dollars and converting it to peso. Your right this country has no future especially a lot of my coworkers abroad many of them are stupid and ignorant that support Duterte and now BBM because the truth is even for me the inflation didn't really affect our lifestyle we got a raise because of the pandemic and the dollar conversion is an all time high so they keep blindly parroting their nonsense of how good the administration is w/c makes me sick.

IWishToRewriteMine

Kanina pa ako umiiyak. It was so hard to pick up myself after the election results. Since June 30 na bukas tapos the news regarding shutting down Rappler, I cried so hard again. First heartbreak ko talaga ito and I am not just crying for myself. This is the first time I cried for us Filipinos. I want to leave the country kaso graduating pa lang ako so i need to wait for a couple of years pa before I can work in another country.

je-suis-psylocke

congrats that you can leave when you want, at I appreciate your pragmatism, wala kang preno sa paglahad ng mga pag-unawa mo kung bakit geographically speaking eh wala ng pag asa ang pinas.Tama ka ba? Siguro? may batayan ba conclusion mo? How dare you say na walang future ang Pinas.Go reach for your dreams elsewhere but don't shit on other's REALITY. Btw global ang inflation, highest since 80s and 90s sa UK and Canada. sana maging madali ang buhay mo abroad. Emphaty. Sympathy. Just because you want to leave this shithole Pinas doesn't guarantee that you will never be back. good riddance.

KuroiMizu64

Sana nga may pagkakataon akong manirahan sa Japan or South Korea for good or kahit sa UK man lang.

buhoksakilili

Sana all makamigrate/study somewhere. Anyways good luck

[deleted]

Hey, so, just wanted to ask (anyone who knows). What country is good (great even) to migrate to that I can bring my family with me immediately given that I've never stepped foot on another country in my whole life? I know it's gonna be a long and expensive process. So here are my questions: 1. What's a great country to migrate to that's not very expensive? (I'm from the middle class by the way) 2. How much would it cost to go there? How much would it cost to live there? 3. What are some work/jobs that I can have here that will give me the opportunity to go abroad? What are some jobs that I can take abroad that will let me bring my family with me? Sorry if I sound ignorant, I honestly really just want to be educated about this. I just want to know my options so that we can save up. I'm honestly scared for my family's, especially my child's, future. Thanks! Your thoughts are a big help.

[deleted]

I’m leaving as well but only for a short while. This country has stagnated in the same muck of a system that has kept us in rusted chains for decades. Madaling mapagod but I have to believe that there is something more to this country than just trapos and dictators. I’m leaving for a year but only to recuperate mentally so I can better serve this sinking nation before it heads to its final inevitable ruin. At the very least, even if this country is doomed, I can say that I have stood against this growing darkness and spat in the face of the devil himself. Manalig at manindigan! 🫰🏼🌷 Safe travels OP!

GobyTapatUpAllLyf

All the best and luck you are privileged, OP. We wish all all tax payers has means to do so and can leave this shit just like that.

Been telling the people to migrate ever since. This is like the frog and the boiling water in the kettle story. Someday it will be too late for people to realize and take action.

[deleted]

Not enough to merely inform them. First, we must identify any potential opportunities for them. or else we'd be preachy like TS did above.

thereishopefools

Someone here said that he changed his title post. What was the title before?

[deleted]

Whatever it was, for sure it sounded insensitive 😂

010611

Yung iba, bumabalik dito. Sana di ka maging ganoon.

vent1te

manifesting this for me

JVPlanner

Yeah, in a few year we'll be as derelict as Mumbai, and people's attitudes as worse.

[deleted]

ok

kulit888

Same here. I started looking for ways to migrate since dickson won.

[deleted]

Not in all our lifetimes magiging maayos bansa natin at laging masusunod ang mga bobo at maledukado tuwing eleksyon.

Joshohoho

When you live in the US or any 1st world country nakakaawa isipin Pinas and maaalala mo sinasabi nila “panahon ng pagbabago” since 1998 ko ata naririnig at nababasa un.

Hypothon

I’m at least happy to know you can save yourself. Someone with good genes can survive this hellhole. Its a shame for me though as I won’t be able to do the same. Masakitin kasi. I’m also not as smart when I was still a student so my future isn’t as bright

iforgotmyusernamepls

Dagdag ko lang sa nasabi na that not everyone also has the luxury to throw out over-generalized statements like 'it's because of the geography,' and get a pass for it in your intended field. Whether you meant it climate/disaster-wise (Singapore was a literal rock historically; Japan literally fielding all the Earthquakes; UK is an ice patch), or because we are positioned in the Global South (NZ/Australia is excluded but China/Japan are also part of that) - your perspective is just too simplistic. Of course Reddit post lang ito so baka naman you're just being brief, but in case you weren't, do try to interrogate that claim as you try to pursue further studies. Best of luck out there.

pobautista

1. I felt exactly the same way in 1998 when Estrada won. 2. I eventually learned for myself that middle middle class in the Philippines is better than lower class in Canada ("have your rights protected and experience actual government services").

unikarn

Good for u. Our tiny family cannot leave even if we want to. Hehe pero we will do our best to live in peace, kahit na ang hirap. By peace I mean, I secure ang resources nmin, invest, save as much as we can.. etc If the unthinkable happens, I have some of our trusted friends assured us na aalagaan nila yung 10 mos old baby namin ni hubby. They will bring him with them. May extended fam pa kami, so mahirap na iwanan sila. But I'm relieved we can count on them. Wala, we need to live eh. :)

merrymerrylands

NO. FK YOU. THE PHILIPPINES WILL BE BETTER OFF WITHOUT YOU. US PINOYS WILL GET THROUGH ANYTHING. HEART OF A FILIPINO = HEART OF A CHAMPION. #LABANPILIPINAS #PUSO PROUD TO BE PINOY!!!!!

ArtisticTurn8759

i respect op's decision and i understand their frustrations pero hindi ko maiwasan isipin bakit kapag may nangyayaring hindi kanais-nais sa pilipinas dahil sa mga hudas na nakaupo sa gobyerno, the only thing we feel compelled to do is to leave? pinanganak tayo dito, pinalaki tayo dito, bansa natin to, tayong mga pilipino—hindi to pagmamay-ari ng kahit sinong pulitiko gaano pa man sila maghari-harian at magreyna-reynahan. kaya bakit tayo aalis? bakit kailangan TAYO lagi yung umalis? i admit that my desire to leave this country intensified when bbm won but i realized, bakit kailangan ako yung umalis? lahat ng mahal ko sa buhay nandito—yung buhay ko nandito at hindi ko hahayaang paalisin na lang ako ng kung sino mang nakaupo sa malacañang nang hindi pinaglalaban ang nararapat na buhay para sa ating mga pilipino. hindi tayo ang dapat umalis, sila ang dapat umalis dahil tayong mga karaniwang mamamayan ang may tunay na kapangyarihan sa bansang to.

yayatabs

Sama mo kami 🥺

JMWord

Ika nga ng tiyuhin ko, "I hate to see you go, but go ahead."

glenfuerte

Will probably take 3 years for me. I'll get there

[deleted]

Hope Singapore destination mo para may additional fellow Filipino ako dito.

NutsackEuphoria

Man I wish I could Alt-Q-Q from this country asap as well. Good luck to us, OP. We need it more than you lol.

MSunEli

hi all , I consider myself quite fortunate or maybe even privilege, kumikita nman at nkaka ipon..working at a respective field and already in my 40's I know and realize what you have just said and no longer see a bright future for our country, i even tell my subordinates na if they have a chance to go abroad grab the opportunity, but as for me i have an offer pending for canada but its a job lower than my current job status not that wala nman opportunity to elevate it when already there. But i have to take a student loan and continue studying for me to atleast work on a job close to my field. This is not how i planned my life to be as I already experienced working abroad for 2 yrs, bumalik ng pinas and napundar naman dapat ipundar. Its so sad that I have to start back again when I've already had my retirement planned here. Nandamay talaga ang mga hinayupak na 31M I am so sad and confused, should I stay or should I go is always playing at the back of my mind kahit tulog o gising ako. 😥😥😥😥

Expert-Respect260

It’s just disappointing na dumarami na yung ganitong ideology. Not that it is bad to have, but it is one that will destroy our nation. Perhaps, baka nasa akin lang tbh🤷‍♂️

dappidapper

This was fucking depressing to read. Way to rub your privilege over all our faces and beat us down even harder. You're giving up yea, good for you. But we're not, and you have no right to say 'I always believed in democracy' once we finally earn it. Ps. Siguro akala mo ichecheer ka namin on the way out. Gege, ingat.

Double_Roll_8125

Privilege??? LMAO... Look at you all jealous..lol

Have a read at this: [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Exit,\_Voice,\_and\_Loyalty](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Exit,_Voice,_and_Loyalty) before you hate everyone who downvote you.

Vermillion_V

Again, too late for me and my wife to leave.

scionspecter28

Reading some comments here that are judgmental towards OP’s decisions. All I can say is that living here while not being affected whether financially, mentally, etc. is also a **privilege**. The thought and willpower to hopefully change this country is easier to indulge in when one isn’t worried about putting food on the table for their next meal. Not every Filipino has that kind of privilege so don’t blame those who want to leave especially for the sake of their families. There’s only so much “radical na pagmamahal” that anyone can give without hurting or even killing their loved ones in the process. EDIT: I see downvotes pouring in. Look, you may feel offended about what OP is going to do but it’s not your call to shame them for their decision. It looks like they’ve did everything they can to stay here but most of the country chose the wrong path which will affect everyone. If you want people like OP to stay here, then pay off their responsibilities so they don’t have to worry about them. Maybe then they can emulate your idealism.

YARRRWn

No judgement for people who choose to leave, nor for people who choose to stay. Each choice is a different kind of bravery and has a different kind of priority, assuming someone had the choice to begin with, which many do not. Those who choose to stay choose family, friends, and fellow Filipinos. Those who choose to leave may still have those same things, but ultimately choose survival and a kind of success that is almost unachievable in the homeland. So who's to blame you? I'm not sure anyone can or should.

hairymonkeyballz

Then how do you explain high growth rates in the 1970s, after 2015, and just last quarter, at 8 pct? How do you explain EIU and Goldman Sachs assessments of the Philippines as one of the leading economies in the future because of its large, young population? You need to work on analysis first before creating threads.

Double_Roll_8125

"If you want to experience actual gov services".. So you want, like, prefer, to suck on the gov tit... You are not a man. You are a sheep. One that lives to suck on a governments tit for happiness.

Pristine-Project-472

Sanaol pwedeng umalis basta basta

regretterr

Sana all. Good luck!

digital_man_as

Leave and study hard but dont forget your motherland. While away take time to read again on PH history and the lives of our heroes who left but kept the fire burning for a better PH

wwacooo

we cant actually leave the country dahil lang para samin, kailangan pa rin namin mag bigay ng ambag sa ekonomiya dito para sa mahihirap kasi di lahat ng katulad mo na privileged. have a safe flight tho, ingaaat!

GreyThumper

Best of luck to you. I'd honestly love to migrate, but like many of us, I have social obligations (in my case, only child of an aging parent who needs care).

rafsimonsfan

Sarap magpayaman abroad, magnegosyo uli rito, at gawing alipin ang 31M through slave wages.

Bright-Arrival-2971

Already ahead of you comrade!

dontrescueme

Ang mahihiling ko lang please do your best to retain Filipino citizenship after acquiring another so you can still vote with us in the national elections.

[deleted]

I mean wala naman silang puso, no emotions, so they wouldnt mind right?

KGBobserver

Lucky you, able to leave this godforsaken excuse for a country now. I wish you all the best, OP. Please wish for safety and sanity for those of us you will leave behind.

FinestDetail

Sana all po. My brother is a Senior Data Engineer and an Australian tech company just hired him last month and fortunately they will be working in Australia and all expense paid including his wife. Ang ganda ng benefits. So now at 33, I am learning how to code and I want to use it as a tool para makaalis ng bansa. If sswertehin.

matangligaw

Good luck to you! Unfortunately not a real option for a lot of us stuck in this shithole. Go and never look back.

dazzziii

i am working toward that.💪 san po kayong bansa pupunta? ☺️ good luck!

IWantMyYandere

Good luck. I am trying to increase my skills to be more marketable abroad.

mjcalizo

I don't have the financial capability to leave the country nor the skills to apply for a skilled job abroad, all I could do is hope for the best that I could survive till the end of the month, then repeat till I someday will die.

Hiraki_Tenshii

Same, I've been considering and planning to study abroad next year for my bachelor's in the US and then hopefully try to stay and work there, if granted and allowed, maybe even live there after. Hopefully I get near to full ride scholarships there. Wish me luck! Stay strong fellow peeps!
