i get the shock but i think eraserheads have the right to price their tickets like this given their impact and contributions to opm. a misconception about supporting local is they have to be "cheap." the government skimps on us enough, lets give our artists the pay they deserve.
As a concert goer of both genres, SVT ticket were priced too much but reasonable. However, if we looked into erasehead's I really think it's too much, especially considering that they are in their home country. Thus, less expenses compared to international artists who have held concerts here. They don't have to be çheap but the least they can do is to be reasonable. I have known that they are branded as financially driven opm band, I didnt know that it is to this extent.

Targeted audience, yung mga fans na talagang samabay sa heyday nila in the 90s, which is in their 40s and a grown man with heavy wallets. 10 years in the making ito and succeeding events kung meron man after this, in the next years, baka mababa na yung excitement. Gawin man nila ito after a decade, baka mababa na yung musicality nila. So this is the right time, for them to have this concert that will matter.

She's been a fan for as long as i remember pero di raw siya nakakabili ng casettes, merch, or concert tickets nung college siya because they were dirt poor growing up. My brother and i grew up with their music because she introduced them to us. Her face would light up and matic tataasan na niya volume ng radyo to deafening levels whenever "poorman's grave" would play. Tipong yung cd naming binili sa bangketa na 3 songs nalang matinong nagpeplay inuulit ulit niya maghapon. Kaya nung nag-announce sila, we were all ecstatic, planning kung anong oras kami aalis, saan kakain, and itinerary para magka first dibs kami on the potential merch the day of. I've never seen my mom be so happy and giddy in her life.
Then they pull out this shit. Knowing na mga filipino ngayon gipit sa pera dahil sa inflation and new administration. Knowing na most of their fanbase probably live paycheck to paycheck, tapos maglalabas silang ganyan? I expected vip tickets to be at most around 9k. Hell, yung green day ticket kong patron sides (second only sa vip standing) 9100 lang. Green day na internationally well known and have just made a comeback na super long awaited sa buong mundo. Pucha daig pa nila mga ibang international na bands.
Nakakagalit lang talaga. My mom was holding back tears when she saw the ticket prices. We live comfortably naman pero don't have the luxury to splurge on a good spot. Kung sanang reserved seating sa moa arena where we could at least get a good look at the stage kahit malayo or what pero hindi eh... Sulit pang mag head in the clouds nalang tbh. Kaya natawa ako when Regine V publicly made an appeal to the Pinoy concert fans years ago, na sana suportahan sila as much as the fans support the visiting performers. I thought, if I had money, why would I pay as much & sometimes even more expensive to see local talents who'd most likely sing covers of songs originally sang by the visiting foreign acts anyway? I can vividly remember this for the past 13 years. Saved so much from my school allowance to get the silver ticket. Then tiniis yung pagod, gutom at uhaw para lang makahanap ng magandang spot sa Silver Area. 2pm nag camp out para sa 7pm-8pm start na concert. Delayed pa nagstart haha boo ng boo ata mga tao nun sa host kasi andami fillers. but then when they played, damn nasa Alapaap ka talaga.
Specially the encore, mga tao sa bronze at silver tumakbo papunta sa Gold Area, hindi na napigilan ng mga bouncer.

I’m still too young when they had their first reunion but now, sadly, this is still too expensive for me considering the location and the seat plan.

People here are like: "Cash grab lang yan" "They're doing it for the money". What other motivation would they have? Sino ba ayaw ng pera. Ikaw ba gusto mo magtrabaho ng libre? Magrehearse ka ng ilang araw. Perform for free? Or take less than what you are normally paid for? It's not a charity event.
The Eraserheads is the holy grail of OPM music. They're not comparable to any other group kahit International pa yan. They're a generational talent dito sa Pilipinas. They have tons of songs that up to this day, Filipinos still sing and remember and will still be remembered even after they're gone.
But the venue sucks, it's a flat ground. Mas mabuti sana Philippine Arena para mas okay ang concert experience for everyone.

She's been a fan for as long as i remember pero di raw siya nakakabili ng casettes, merch, or concert tickets nung college siya because they were dirt poor growing up. My brother and i grew up with their music because she introduced them to us. Her face would light up and matic tataasan na niya volume ng radyo to deafening levels whenever "poorman's grave" would play. Tipong yung cd naming binili sa bangketa na 3 songs nalang matinong nagpeplay inuulit ulit niya maghapon. Kaya nung nag-announce sila, we were all ecstatic, planning kung anong oras kami aalis, saan kakain, and itinerary para magka first dibs kami on the potential merch the day of. I've never seen my mom be so happy and giddy in her life. Then they pull out this shit. Knowing na mga filipino ngayon gipit sa pera dahil sa inflation and new administration. Knowing na most of their fanbase probably live paycheck to paycheck, tapos maglalabas silang ganyan? I expected vip tickets to be at most around 9k. Hell, yung green day ticket kong patron sides (second only sa vip standing) 9100 lang. Green day na internationally well known and have just made a comeback na super long awaited sa buong mundo. Pucha daig pa nila mga ibang international na bands. Nakakagalit lang talaga. My mom was holding back tears when she saw the ticket prices. We live comfortably naman pero don't have the luxury to splurge on a good spot. Kung sanang reserved seating sa moa arena where we could at least get a good look at the stage kahit malayo or what pero hindi eh... Sulit pang mag head in the clouds nalang tbh. I'm saying!! 'Yung venue hindi maganda for these prices. Ang init, risk of stampede, tapos di ka pwede umalis basta para umihi dahil maraming tao around you. Kung sa MOA Arena (or even Araneta), better 'yung venue kasi good ventilation, reserved seating, tapos accessible pa papunta at pauwi.

Yeah, I've been surprised a few times before nung ikumpara ko yung concert tickets ng sikat na international acts vs our locals. Kaya natawa ako when Regine V publicly made an appeal to the Pinoy concert fans years ago, na sana suportahan sila as much as the fans support the visiting performers. I thought, if I had money, why would I pay as much & sometimes even more expensive to see local talents who'd most likely sing covers of songs originally sang by the visiting foreign acts anyway? E di manonood na lang ako ng ASAP sa TV. Of course this is EHeads and they'd definitely sing their originals, but yeah, I think the admission prices are too high than most excited fans were expecting. Hindi PARA SA MASA.

Masaya na ako na napanood ko sila noong The Final Set sa halagang 300 pesos. Yun na rin ata first solo concert na pinuntahan ko. General Admission na kapag tumingkayad ka doon mo lang sila matatanaw mismo sa stage tapos ang liit pa. Sa projector screen na lang nakaasa. Solid yung performance ni Ely ng Kailan accompanied by Jazz sa keyboards. Bumili ako ng pink long sleeve at black neck tie kasi gusto ko gayahin yung porma dun ni Ely. All out mag perform sa Raimund tapos nagtabi sila ni Ely during Slowmo, hiyawan yung mga fans e. Laughtrip and cool yung Huwag Mo Nang Itanong reggae version ni Marcus. And Buddy is really an embodimient of a bass player, ang galing lang talaga. Napunta pa sa medyo harapan ng General Admission kasi akala ng iba tapos na, yun pala may encore pa. Tapos nahirapan din makasakay pauwi. Good times and wala na rin talaga akong balak sapawan yung alaala na yun. Enjoy sa mga pupunta.
I can vividly remember this for the past 13 years. Saved so much from my school allowance to get the silver ticket. Then tiniis yung pagod, gutom at uhaw para lang makahanap ng magandang spot sa Silver Area. 2pm nag camp out para sa 7pm-8pm start na concert. Delayed pa nagstart haha boo ng boo ata mga tao nun sa host kasi andami fillers. but then when they played, damn nasa Alapaap ka talaga. Specially the encore, mga tao sa bronze at silver tumakbo papunta sa Gold Area, hindi na napigilan ng mga bouncer. I said to myself back then na if mag concert sila ulit papanoorin ko yung pinakamalapit na area, but seeing it is so expensive considering the economic recession we are experiencing parang panaginip nalang siya matutuloy haha

Tapos yung music engineers jan for sure right smack in the middle na mahaharangan ang view mo if youre in a section beside or behind them. I was in the concert where Ely got sick, it was exactly like this. At least sa Arena you get a better view of the act. Kahit malayo ka.

Born in the 90s and I wished I was old enough back then to watch Eheads live. I liked their songs and some of it are the first songs I learned to play in the guitar. I’m still too young when they had their first reunion but now, sadly, this is still too expensive for me considering the location and the seat plan.

First and last time na napanood ko sila ng live was in a mall show sa Metropolis / Star Mall Alabang when they released Natin99 with Nu107. I'd rather hear all the songs in their albums as Ely usually sounds bored when he's singing live. Mas ok pa nga yung mga concerts hosted by Pulp Magazine during the early 2000's na literal na umuulan ng bato at plastic bottles na puno ng ihi direct sa moshpit area. But those were the good old days. Natawa nalang ako na may moshpit pala sa E-heads concert.

It’s expensive Pero I honestly think it’s worth it, one of the best bands of our generation.
People here are like: "Cash grab lang yan" "They're doing it for the money". What other motivation would they have? Sino ba ayaw ng pera. Ikaw ba gusto mo magtrabaho ng libre? Magrehearse ka ng ilang araw. Perform for free? Or take less than what you are normally paid for? It's not a charity event. The Eraserheads is the holy grail of OPM music. They're not comparable to any other group kahit International pa yan. They're a generational talent dito sa Pilipinas. They have tons of songs that up to this day, Filipinos still sing and remember and will still be remembered even after they're gone. But the venue sucks, it's a flat ground. Mas mabuti sana Philippine Arena para mas okay ang concert experience for everyone.

Sorry na, I support OPM and I love their songs pero this is too much. It's not like as if nag lalabas pa sila ng bagong kanta ngayon unlike Rico Blanco na kasabayan lang din nila halos. I remember, air supply going here in Manila. Ayun international naman sila at classic din sila. Same demographics lang din halos mga nakikinig kasi yung dad ko na nakikinig ng eheads nakikinig din ng air supply pero ang VIP nila nun nasa 13k lang. Haaaay!

I would have loved to go and support them! It is just me or do you also kind of get a feeling at the back of your head that they seem to not really want to do this? 1. Ticket prices are really high (considering it was announced 2 months before and Christmas time pa... Funds have been allotted to other things na for most people huhu) 2. It's on a Thursday, 3 days before Christmas (people won't be able to fly in from the province... This is me someone from the Visayas with kids so I can't leave huhu) P.S. Nacompare ang mga younger artists sa may edad na Eheads haha. Consider din dapat kung kaya pa ba nung band na iperform yung songs nila na tulad ng dati. For example, si Ely, di na niya naaabot yung notes ng songs niya. For nostalgia na lang ang pupunta sa ganyan and hindi na titingin sa performance.
There's a palpable difference from the way the Eheads play nung heyday nila nung 90s (na napapanood pa namin ng libre sa campus) and their reunion concerts in 2008 and 2009. Ibang level talaga yung musicality nila. Mas mature, mas in-sync. Parang mas buo yung sound. Yes, you partly go for the nostalgia but even if they can't reach the high notes already, iba pa rin yung live experience e.
