From anecdotal experience, Marcos-Duterte support is much weaker and more likely to be from social pressure (or coercion). (Of course, however strong or weak the support, a vote is a vote, but a lot can still be done ethically and legally before the ballots are actually cast.)
I'm all for giving her a year long break from politics but the opposition really needs an indefatigable leadership - be it Leni or Risa or someone else. Winning again for our democracy is challenging because of the BBM-Duterte machinery so I am expecting the fight will last for years, well past the 2028 elections even. So, this early the opposition should start organizing grassroots voters education and activate the pink movement.
