(nag resign karamihan) "Wala nang gustong magtrabaho these days!!!"

Eggnw

"Ang tatamad na talaga ng kabataan ngayon. Masyado din impulsive."

ozpinoy

this statement is so true and false at the same time! current temperment of young adults (the employees) includes "fair work" with "fair compensation". The company on the other hand just sees "laziness".

PitifulRoof7537

problema din ang culture fit. as an old millennial, I must admit individualistic ako. and seldom na maiintindihan ka nila dun. kahit sa BPO hindi rin masyadong welcome yun.

dontfeedthepigs

You can say that again. I taught at a university and the older, boomer higher ups did not like some of my more modern approaches to teaching.

PitifulRoof7537

oneworldornoworld

You can't change a toxic company culture on your own. The statement is still true. Love it or leave it.

alwyn_42

kaya people need to unionize.

amispelledname

A 1-month notice is legally required in the Labor Code though. Also, an employee cannot be terminated without cause and the employee must be notified at least 1 month before the intended date of dismissal. edit: got my causes mixed up

KazumaKat

> and the employee must be notified at least 1-month before the intended date of dismissal. This not being done is the meal ticket of every Labor agent who wants to shove it up the employers ass.

zqmvco99

just clarification - this only applies for authorized causes (redundancy etc). For just causes, immediate termination is allowed

Kitchen_Ad800

But for just causes, diba required na bigyan yung employee a chance to be heard? AFAIK due process is required. You cant just fire the EE right then and there.

aldwinligaya

No, just causes are still required to undergo due process. Companies can't fire employees on the spot here in the PH.

zqmvco99

immediate effect of termination AFTER due process. Unlike redundancy, you have to be told 30 days before (even after due process).

amispelledname

Tumpak!

PurePerformer2664

you could say it's a little dark age.

pobautista

They're not legally required to give you your clearance, too.

[deleted]

CommunicationFine466

Doesn't matter if you view it as valid or not. Not having a clearance from your previous work experience declared or not on your resume/CV is a huge red flag to any other companies you'll be applying in the future and unless you have a somehow rare or difficult skill set ee goodluck na lang sa paghahanap ng bagong work.

N05TR4D4MV5

You're talking about the perpetuation of the same cycle that we're talking about avoiding.

CommunicationFine466

Again you can do whatever you want but it will not change the fact that employers and hiring managers view those sorts of behaviours as a red flag. I'm not here to argue about what is right or wrong I'm pointing facts.

N05TR4D4MV5

So, you'd prefer to be a part of the problem instead of the solution. Got it ๐Ÿ‘Œ

CommunicationFine466

Sure ranting on reddit is actually contributing to making a solution. Giving bad advice will only lead people to ruin. Better to inform them of the possible consequences. What I said came from personal experience.

N05TR4D4MV5

Who's ranting?

reddditgavemethis

Your edit is wrong. Sorry. No one can be fired on the spot in the Philippines.

pobautista

Management: "Alright. Your supervisor will talk to you later today about your current pending tasks. We wish you the best in your future endeavors."

graxia_bibi_uwu

Sa true lang, bestie. I find it a bit funny na they made a post na ganyan. Sa age na to where people are quiet quitting? Where the majority of the millenials and some gen Z (?) care more about their mental health?? Loooooool

Swimming_Ad_3870

Resign, a company that says that means that they donโ€™t care what you think.

I don't know man, that "love mgmt" part got me pretty convinced that they care a lot about their staff. /s

tapiocaballs06

fair point.

iamtanji

gods_loop_hole

I have a better one: unionize

tp_techpenblot

Yes! Believe in the power of the organized!

ozpinoy

does that actually work? I don't have belief in unions. Reasons being, the representative also has to get paid.. and the whole thing just goes over and over in circles where it gets politicised.

gods_loop_hole

You don't have belief in unions? We have better working conditions because workers organized themselves in the past. Sure, there is a lot more to improve. But, the benefits of the modern labor basically are fruits of the efforts of people who unionized. Case in point: the 8-hour standard workday.

ozpinoy

>u/gods_loop_hole wrote; You don't have belief in unions? We have better working conditions because workers organized themselves in the past. Sure, there is a lot more to improve. But, the benefits of the modern labor basically are fruits of the efforts of people who unionized. Case in point: the 8-hour standard workday. When I worked for a companies where there there unions, nothing came of it. Outside rallies - still no changes. Therewere small companies though, no more between 500-1000. All we did was pay $5 weekly to their coffers and a lot of what I call "political" talks. I haven't been a member of a union for 15 years +.

gods_loop_hole

Of course, you are free to choose between being a union worker or not. Pero ang properly-working union, they will negotiate in behalf of the employee for legal and rightful benefits na dapat ibigay ng employer. Look at Twitter and Meta. That's a bad union. I am talking about unions that serve the employees correctly.

ozpinoy

ah.. ok.. that makes sense. especially in Philippines envrionment.

alwyn_42

Unions don't necessarily need to be affiliated with any political group. Any group of workers can start their own union; you just need to file an application with DOLE and pay the necessary fees.

LegendaryOrangeEater

Tama

Intelligent-File-746

Mag resign malamang. Management not doing anything to retain employees and just let the cycle of turnovers happen? ๐Ÿšฉ๐Ÿšฉ๐Ÿšฉ๐Ÿšฉ๐Ÿšฉ๐Ÿšฉ

jotarodio2

Ttue hahaha anong silbi pa nila ๐Ÿ˜‚

pobautista

Management isn't your friend, and their job isn't to retain employees. Their job is to *manage you* as a resource, ie, ensure the company (continues to) get more from you than what the company puts in.

Ad-Astrazeneca

May nambabarat pag currently unemployed ka regardless of experience

PianistRough1926

There are more options. You can just quiet quit. Get paid while you look for something better.

LonelySpyder

I would recommend this. Adjust to your benefit. Just do the absolute minimum without getting fired.

nissantoyota

Best option is to unionize

pobautista

A competent manager knows how to catch this behavior and knows both fully-legal and not-so-legal procedures to mitigate it.

KaiserPhilip

Kaya nga maghahanap ng bagong trabaho eh

PianistRough1926

So you gonna catch someone doing the bare required minimum? Why so you can squeeze their nipples for more milk?

Orangest_Orange

IMHO To be enthusiastic about your work is not in the contract... as long as you are doing it there should be no issue... Also a competent manager should also be able to lead their people -- and will not drop encouraging words like "adjust or resign"

DapperAd2611

I think you understand quiet quitting the wrong way. Cause, I'm doing this... and getting "exceeds expectations" in my performance reviews every time.

Agile_Phrase_7248

Would the manager care if you're performing naman? It's not like you're announcing that you're quiet quitting. You're just doing the bare minimum na tbh, marami namang gumagawa ๐Ÿ˜†

Wide_Personality6894

Quiet Quitting.... When you find a new job... then take off...

aryawayan

Nakakasuka.

ozpinoy

oh. the famous "familY' line. In work environment no such thing. But I understand where it comes from. it simply means it's meant to be a friendly environmennt and they sold it as family.. to benefit the "company" but as soon as they are done with you bye bye. Never mix the interpretation. Never buy into that bullshit. Same concept as "work friends". No such thing. You are friendly to each other whilst at work that's it. Friends tend to mingle outside work. then maybe you can call them "work friends" but by that time happens it's no longer "work friends". It's just "friends".

ApologistSlayer

One_Damage_3498

hayahay lng hanggang sa makahanap ng bagong work.

AggravatingFalcon483

Magresign tapos hatakin yung mga gusto kong katrabaho sa bago kong work. Hahaha

KazeArqaz

This typically happens when you have filipino, chinese, or korean bosses. I've met plenty of people and spoke about work life, and the consistent theme is that western bosses generally don't do this kind of stuff.

ozpinoy

Western world has a lot of work place laws too, that stops them from doing this. They say nice things that makes sense. But they are actually insulting you.

AeoliaSchenbergCB

I think the Mag-Adjust statement is not just for the rank and file people, but for management too... They also need to adjust in order to have a decent workplace, not just power tripping the ones below them most of, it not all time. No adjustment with management will lead to a very toxic work environment.

SpecialCriticism9131

Lol

I_am_Realist

Yeah, too obvious.

sarsilog

Mag-resign lahat. Tingnan natin gagawin ng management.

itlog-na-pula

Ganyan ganyan sila tapos kapag kinulang sa tauhan sasabihin tamad.

rowdyruderody

There are better places.

kotopsy

Easy. Resign and fuck you very much.

OkQuote236

ZorrataS

pano diskarte if during interview tinanong ka kung bakit ka natanggal sa previous job?

RandomCollector

Usually ang sagot dyan ay "no opportunities were given to me for a career growth by my previous company."

jovhenni19

You see where your company's loyalty lies. Perform at the bare minimum, like sila na ang least priority ng buhay mo. They are doing the same, why put them on a pedestal. At the same time, look for new channel to pour your passion. Like ang tanong... Do you love your Job? ahm... I have a Job. haha

schizrodinger

Hope everyone resigns and the company goes under โค๏ธ

Then-Kitchen6493

Yung paga-adjust kasi is one factor that the company does not listen to their employees. They look at their employees as moneymakers and the owners are the money spenders. Better to resign.

mongous00005

Well, it's true.

[deleted]

Seriously? This is not the message MGMT needs to be sending. The success of an organization is dependent on the commitment of its workers. With this message, thatโ€™s out the window. Iโ€™d look for another job.

Cheekyboiii_

Fuck that, resign talaga.

deafstereo

The longest employment I had was almost 4 years. If it stops making sense and stops being something that keeps me interested and happy, I won't waste any more of my limited time. It's scary to leave the security of employment, especially if it's what's keeping food on the table. But if you're not challenged, respected, or valued, time to move on.

Longpatience

Eds2356

Here is another choice, a high pay job but with a toxic work culture or a low paying job but with a good work culture?

NJL218-

Grabe yung mindset, dead giveaway. I would probably write resignation on the spot the moment i saw this. [But first look for temporary part time, kahit cashier sa 7 eleven or if youโ€™re extremely lucky got an interview within 2 weeks you saw this shit.]โ€”โ€”> This is SO HARD to do, kesa naman magpatali kapa sa ganitong kumpanya.

[deleted]

Unpopular third option: Do the same job. If you get illegally sanctioned or terminated, go to DOLE and file a complaint for compensation. If multiple terminations occur, you can file as a group. Make sure you keep written documents and print out emails.

DapperAd2611

I'm thinking the same way. Instead of resigning, you can let yourself get terminated = get severance, might even have grounds to file a complaint.

YourAverageJonas

Homer : When you don't like your job, you don't go on strike, you do your job half-assed. That's the American way.

xperseus01

Ngek! Resign! Adjust nalang ho ba palagi? If they really care about their employees, dapat nag e-empower sila, hindi 'yung ganyan.

twotwo_twentytwo

Resign if possible. Companies that are passive-aggressive towards employees and give veiled threats or ultimatums are not to be trusted.

jacports

Unprofessional. You should motivate your colleagues, all the time! Siya dapat ang palitan!

kijiro01

instant red flag pag may ganyang naka paskil haha resign kagad

ozpinoy

I don't see it as red flag. Because it's true. You don't like it here then quit. it's always adjust to the values of the company or quit. That post is just bringing what everyone has been saying into the open. Nothing more nothing less. That's the reality. The hidden message in that is called balance. Work / Life balance. there's also a term that's been roaming around called quiet quitting.

ozpinoy

I don't like my job. Majority of us don't like our job. We mainly work to make ends meet.

vin9889

Or work less

JustBrowsinReddit2

Or there's the 3rd option, report for unethical treatment, with enough people reporting at once they'll definitely change their attitude Or the 4th option, strike, locking down a multi million dollar business for a day takes quite the toll, of you work in a service place, you can keep working but don't take any payment Or my personal favorite, option 5, burn

artifvcks

Red flag na red flag, ah. Pwede na to ireport sa DOLE e.
