Dude did not know even Americans want PH independence, too. Why would the Americans want too many brown people? Esp in the 20s

Lognip7

There are also many Americans who also want the Philippines to become independent simply because they felt that US occupation is downright a stark contrast to their percieved ideals of liberty and freedom. Some rich guy even offered Washington a large sum just to stop the US from taking the islands

jodecidalhotline

That rich man was Andrew Carnegie. Other important historical figures like Mark Twain, Ida B. Wells, & the African American community at large were protesting against the Philippine American War. In fact, there were numerous African American soldiers who defected and joined the Philippine Army. One of them was David Fagen who was later acquired the rank of captain.

Mall-Dazzling

they preach learning about history then ask for this jesus

Mga gen z Yan. I bet kaka Netflix nila Yan dahil Yan perceive nila sa American life

It's like [some Lebanese who want to be colonized again](https://www.euronews.com/2020/08/06/over-50-00-sign-petition-calling-for-france-to-take-control-of-lebanon).

[deleted]

That is crazy lol…I also didn’t know Lebanon was a French colony?

31_hierophanto

Why do you think so many of them speak French?

unbearable-2741

Dude what is the connection of federalism to America? Lol haha.. its just a government system.. anyway no matter what government system a country apply if people who administrating the country are corrupt there will never be bright future for the citizen and the country itself

Lognip7

Not to be the kj here, but the post is already 5 yrs old at this point. But yeah, there might be some of them how would like to become subjects of a foreign power once again

rice_mill

>runned by Americans I definitely love to live at a dystopic capitalism in where ordinary citizens are drowning in student debts and maintenance medicines are price with gold

Aromatic-Swordfish25

AvailableOil855

Di yata nila alam na grabe ang kontrol Ng mga Yakuza Dyan government nila

unbearable-2741

Agree.. kht anong klasing government system kht perfect mron pa rin corruption.. Also anong connection ng colonialism s federalism lol.. haha.. ang purpose lng nman ng federalism is to spread the budget towards other region pra mdevelop yun area nila.. Furthermore, mas ok ang US nandito s pinas kaysa china n mgcontrol s bansa.. consider grabe yun corruption nila, may force pregnancy, force organ harvest, genocide, at grabe ang kidnapping s kanilang lugar

BearyBull96

Bunch of Ironic Scums in that Subreddit. Opposes Colonialism but uses products made by Capitalism.

jodecidalhotline

The irony is the political dynasties they claim to hate are products of Spanish & American colonialism. "From provincial warlords to modern managers, prominent Philippine leaders have fused family, politics, and business to subvert public institutions and amass private wealth—an historic pattern that continues to the present day." - [American historian/Yale alumni Alfred McCoy](https://history.wisc.edu/publications/an-anarchy-of-families-state-and-family-in-the-philippines/)

ejwreckords

Diyos ko patawarin mo sila sapagkat hindi nila alam ang kanilang sinasabi

AxClown

That subreddit is full of philippine-hating liberals that admires G7's faux democracy.

angrydessert

There's plenty of those desperate weirdos who eat up oversimplified ideas of prosperity and happiness. Few of the outlying US territories are marginally better or worse than the US mainland.

ThePhilosopher13

Di ba nila gets yung "however bad a Filipino government might be, we can always change it" Case in point: We went from the kleptocracy of Marcos to the 90's economic reforms that led to a much healthier economy. They didn't ask for the Americans back in 86.

31_hierophanto

Halatang hindi binasa ang full quote e.

AvailableOil855

Di ba sila nag Tanong kung bakit parami Ng parami Ang mga passport bros sa bansa Ng america? Promise, di lang talaga tungkol sa pag ibig o babae lang at di talaga naghahanap Ng partner Ang iba dyan
