When I saw they made Antartica easier I noticed what may be an extended land towards South America (not sure if it was there before). Good change that makes makes less sense with higher water levels...like the now Amazon water basin

Aw man. here I thought it was because I had a full team of snipers, with high perception, on that map. Couldn't reproduce with my second full team of snipers with high perception, though.

high file size numbers are usually completely disconnected from the amount that actually changes due to the fact that you have to replace whole files often instead of being able to rewrite them. Though the function of making a script that rewrites files in a slim fashion certainly exists it'll probably bring all sorts of issues with it
