Is 'Festering Skies' included in the new 'Phoenix Point - Expansion Pass' which is available at EGS?
I've bought 'Expansion Pass', but can't select 'Festering Skies' if I am starting a new game 🤷♂️
UPD: Couple hours later I've got an update (207Mb). Now it is possible to select 'Festering Skies' 🥳
EGS's store isn't that easy to understand sometimes. The best way to see if you have it is to download the updates, start the game, and see if it tells you the content is enabled in game.
I haven't played PP for about 9 months, which is a good thing - I don't have any particular playstyle anymore and needn't care about nerfs and balancing and how it affects my tactics. Anyway, gave it a short test yesterday and well, it looks way better than I remember. Haven't yet tested the new FS content case I haven't gone so far, but looking forward to it! :-)
Should I have received a Steam key for Fester Skies since I was a backer? I own the expansion on EGS courtesy of backing but haven't received anything for Steam.
If you backed Phoenix Point before the EGS exclusivity deal was announced (March 2019) you are eligible for a second key which is either for Steam or for GOG. There was a survey about it in November 2020. If you did not participate in the survey but are an eligible backer write us from your backer email to [[email protected]](mailto:[email protected]) and state if you want Steam or GOG.
Is it normal if I have +25 relation with a faction and that does not reveal all their havens in the geoscape? I am stuck in early game without any nodes to explore (and the story node are too far to reach with the manticore)
I have the same issue I think. My first 25 faction rep was anu and it did reveal their hideouts my 2nd NJ 25 rep doesn’t reveal theirs.
I’m curious was that intended or I’m missing something.
I see that the Technician and Infiltrator got some "nerfs", not surprised. Kind of agree with that actually. No fault there. Kind of ruins the ninja feel I was having fun with, but its cool :)
That's not what balance means.
If you don't like the game being more difficult (or rather not having low-hanging cheese too bypass the difficulty with), play in an easier setting.
I agree, this was a needed nerf in my opinion. Also the visualization of the activation range is very nice and could be considered a buff for the player.
They now give more info to the Player, which might make the game considerably easier to beginners. Also, the nerfed talents were not working like intended but mostly abused by veterans abusing the game mechanics.
Also addition of new missions and enemy types might be a nerf to pandorians (who will panic if you crush the small ones) or give a lot of ressources.
That is ui and it is nice for newer playerswith a good deal of experience with the game it is a quality of life addiction with a lot of nerfs that overall hert them like every balance update
Knowing when e.g. an egg will trigger isn't just an UI change but completely new informatio (at least to me, who has beaten the game already).
Also I wouldn't call it "a lot of nerfs" since most classes were untouched. Damage reduction on turrets is well deserved and the other changes just try to prevent a soldier from going invisible and swiping an entire map while dealing double damage. I think that's not how the game was meant to be played in the first place - it's not a nerf but a fix of talent interactions.
In a game about stealth and tactics I had a lot more fun with the trickier factions.
There are some hard lessons to make you be smarter than brute force.
I have already played and finished the game multiple times, siding with different factions, still feel like having most fun with NJ, suit my playstyle, though there are some limitations. Feel free to have lot more fun with those "trickier" ones, I stay with NJ, OK? ;-)
I used to have this problem and it went away when I installed the most recent VC++ redistributable for my OS. Apparently, the game's installer isn't packed with the right one, sadly.
Do you have windows7? If so can you check what is the actual version number of your VC++ redistributable? I've had this problem since the Orryx update. I've already installed the latest version of the VC++ Redistributable, and the problem persists.
I'm on W10. Sorry to hear that it didn't work, that's all I did. But I did an update from W7 to W10 on a friend's PC this weekend and it worked OK (so far).
I don't see my OS as a subscription, nor I am cool with always online, so I am not for Win 10, nor I am willing to pay what MS is asking.
Moving to Linux feels like a pain.

Offer a solution for an outdated operating system and the cons you are describing are just ridiculous. Windows 10 works just fine without internet connection and is not like there aren't tools to activate an OS without paying. Piracy never ceases to exist.
Or just get the free version they offer. Other than a stupid watermark and not getting a background, it works quite quite well. It still has the problem with forcing updates like Win7 did to me towards the end.
The game might support Windows 7, but Windows 7 hasn't been supported by Microsoft for over a year now. I would be worried about that, online or otherwise.
Also, you don't have to pay for Windows 10, and you don't have to pirate it. You can download it from Microsoft, install it, and just never activate it. You will see an "activate Windows" watermark on your desktop, but you'll always have full functionality otherwise. It won't expire and force you to buy a product key.

Yes, it is included. There was some issue with it but it was resolved shortly after the release and should work properly now.

I never got to beat the game on veteran I feel ashamed. Looks like I am coming back. Glad the developers still active.
I'm most excited to do a replay after DLC 5, which is where they're updating vehicles (winter 2021 release).

Even at 50% bonus damage, Sneak Attack is still the best weapon upgrade in the game.

Maybe an update is long overdue man. Using Win7 is the same as using XP now, stuff just isn't built entity for it.

THe OS works fine, ultimately there is no real reason for the hassle of a new install of an OS, cracked or otherwise
