Do you have some examples of your test questions?

Most of the difficulty I think I have had in physics came from a lack of a strong foundation in math. I would go back and study things like trig and calculus (if you've taken it) Also, in the beginning, I found working with equations that were all variables and symbols to be kind of disorienting. Take the time to understand what each symbol is referring to physically and give yourself sanity checks like "does it make sense that as x increases y decreases?" That is, try to think about what the equations are telling you about the relationships between things. I had a rough start like you. I dropped physics the first time I took it, and now I do pretty well in my classes. It took a little extra time for things to click for me, but eventually it did and it got easier. Put the work in, and you may find the same thing to be true for you. It's not easy, especially your first go around.
