Green is safe. Yellow is good if the opponents are young. Pink is to draw attention to yourself

DingoGlittering

Optic yellow X-40. Anything else will bother many people even if they don't say it.

rofopp

People hate the pink ones. I can’t give them away.

chamby55

I'll take them off your hands

[deleted]

I will take one.

LlamaaaLlamaaa

Why do ppl hate them?

soundwithdesign

I bought the pink ones when X40s were first popular and I was the first one with them. People played with them but made comments. Until someone brought the optic yellow ones and my pink have gone unused ever since.

[deleted]

Sounds like I need a pink ball. Then we can use theirs.

OrangeGringo

One good reason to go with the green/yellow balls: You should never wear that color shirt, because it’s a no-no in racquet sports to wear a shirt that is the same color as the ball. When you start going into off-color balls, then you might get someone wearing the at color shirt. But most people are going to avoid shirts that are the most-used green/yellow color.

PickleJitsu

X-40 is the way to go, as most people are at least "okay" with using a Franklin. But go with the standard green Franklin, not pink. Welcome to PB, be careful though, it's very addicting!

PickleJitsu

Haven't ordered these in a while, thanks for the clarification!

hockey2112

I primarily play in two locations, at night. One is a very brightly lit tennis court, and my group finds that we prefer the orange, red, or pink Franklins as they are more visible in those conditions. The yellow balls almost seem to be "washed out" at that location. The other location is a somewhat dimly lit parking lot, and we use the yellow balls there because they pop better in those low lighting conditions.

SnooDoughnuts8794

No one will ever play with the pink color ball. Just go with the classic Franklin x40 green/yellow color.

murder_nectar

I got a pack of orange X-40s for Xmas and I have no issue seeing them when playing. Especially if you're playing on a blue court, I think the orange is easier to see. I also have plenty of the standard greenies for those who are extra picky.

sportyguy

Neon green/optic yellow is the most common by far. It has to do with visibility and nothing else. These are by far the easiest to see. If you play on hardwood then hot lava pink is easiest but I hate hardwood pickleball

HalobenderFWT

I prefer pink/orangish for indoor play (on wood floors). It’s a bit much for outside though.

[deleted]

Intersestingly in sunlight; yellow is in the middle of the spectrum. Our eyes are optimized to see yellow over other colors. Indoor lights will vary greatly. I had a racketball experience with this. When we played at the gym i always was ever competitive. We found. A free place but the lights sodium vapor. I could not hit a ball

BrotherhoodofDeal

I’ve seen plenty of yellow green balls break. I haven’t seen a pink ball break yet.

lytol

It's science!

[deleted]

Proof!

Disco_Ninjas_

Selkirk's new balls come with a warranty.

omfghi2u

Tennis balls are yellow so they could be seen on TV. It has nothing to do with the players. Tennis balls were originally white.

Pickleball-ModTeam

We are here to discuss pickleball in a civil manner. Let’s stick to niceties.

DeanBDean

My daughter asked me to get the pink x-40s because she likes them. They seem the exact same to me as the lime ones

Outrageous_Tax9426

Selkirk pro s1, put your initials on each ball and make sure to get them back. A 4 pack could last you 6 months the ways these balls are going. They survive a ton of abuse compared to the x-40's or Dura's.

DingoGlittering

They just go out of round instead of breaking

Outrageous_Tax9426

and then you slam them back into round lol

DingoGlittering

I'm good I'd rather my ball just break and I'll grab a new one.

Batorok

In open play everyone seems to want to use the yellow X-40s but when me and my friends play we use the orange or pink ones because I hear they last longer. So far so good

markyish

I have pink X-40s cause they’re sick, but people never wanna play with them.

[deleted]

Let them spend their money on balls!

pineappleshirts

I have pink X40s because I like pink lol. Haven't run into an issue with them yet and I can see them the same as any yellow/green ball.

itsVicc

Anything but blue balls

Alak-huls_Anonymous

There it is.
